  1. True, but I wasn't so much thinking about the audio gear as the environment. 80/20 rule and all that.
  2. With all due respect, you're not going to know what the car feels like unless you actually drive one. Any FI Zed will feel very quick, but the way the power is delivered may not be to your taste. I assume that you're after an SC setup specifically because of the power delivery, any way!
  3. Depends on your ears I guess, but there's no way I could tell the difference between a lossless and a 256 song in the 911. On my home stereo absolutely, but in a car there's just too much external noise to be able to gain the benefits.
  4. Lossless audio is wasted in a car, unless you've gone to some extreme lengths or own a Rolls Royce.
  5. Are we really comparing an S4 to a 1L Festa?! Broadly speaking though I tend to agree, we need to figure out first of all exactly what the car will be used for and the must haves & must not haves. If we can get that sorted, then we can start offering proper advice: Anything before that point would be doing Craig a disservice. Looking specifically at that car, it'll certainly make some lovely noises and feel half decent in a straight line, however it'll feel incredibly dull and understeery in the corners. Not a problem as it wasn't designed to handle corners well, just worth bearing in mind as you mention 'fun'. Also 120k miles could be asking for big bills, as things start to fail. Okay, it's cheap enough so it's a fair sale, but you'd want a good £2K slush fund to fix and repair anything I think.
  6. *returns club card, on a temporary basis until proof of purchase is sent to the ledger department*
  7. Did they have their glasses on? I'm kidding! The best Zed is a clean Zed without tat stuck on
  8. It's bloody awful if you ask me. Joke physics, average graphics, duff AI. Each to their own though.
  9. In fairness, they may not have seen the biker at first, and then when they realised they were too embarrassed to apologise and/or help. Most people are good, but some are always arseholes.
  10. Above all though, ignore reviews. And ignore everyone on here who says X is better than Y. Including me! Use your own eyes, and trust yourself. Compare like for like using a source you like (I used Independance Day on BD for the blacks and Forza 3 on 360 for the fast stuff when I bought my last TV, and yes I took my own Xbox in!), and then figure out what TV you like the best. I ended up with a choice of a 55" Samsung LCD or a 65" LG plasma, and I don't care what people say about plasma as the LCD looked much better to me. Your own judgement is the best. Go with it.
  11. I detest curved TVs with a passion. Unless you are sitting bang smack in the centre at exactly the right height, they make the picture appear like you're looking at the back of a spoon. Or Becky Adlington's face.
  12. It's bloody awful. I really hope you didn't pay real money for it.
  13. *brakes K Sports are okay, personally I'd look for a set of Brembos instead though.
  14. Samsung or bust. Nothing else I've seen at that price range comes close. Be careful though, you may find LCD too different from plasma. if you're spending £2k on a telly, I would prioritise a future tech like 4K over a dead tech like 3D.
  15. That's what I was getting at: I'm sure it's not all of the attendees, but a few of them. If their mates told them to stop arsing around, they probably would and then they wouldn't have this issue. Sadly, a few bad eggs have spoilt it for everyone now.
  16. I wouldn't go and watch an F1 race, but I'll be there for Silverstone and LM in '15.
  17. Nope, it was still double waved yellows at the point he left the circuit: The green flag was shown (correctly) after the obstruction. Points per pound of salary, I bet KMag did better than Button. Alonso won't come cheap. A previous WC should not be in the situation where he has no drive lined up at all, and the choice is between him and a rookie who he comprehensively outscored. I don't really rate Button as an all-time great driver, though. He's good, but he's past his best in F1.
  18. If he's retained then McLaren are silly, or rolling in money. Really Button should've retained some dignity and quit to go to sportscar racing, and left McLaren with no choice. If KMag gets the boot, that's pretty much the end of his F1 career.
  19. Following up on this, the BBC make a good point. If the original schedule is over 20 races, then teams get 5 engines next year. If it was 20 or less, they only get 4 engines. So now they can drop Korea and the teams still get 5 engines for next season without any breaking of the rules.
  20. The real problem is the people who attended the cruises who didn't self-police. Now they've ruined it for everyone. If they'd have stopped their 'mates' from driving like a knobheads then this wouldn't have got so bad.
  21. They're right. He was still doing 78mph when he hit the crane, and although his engine didn't cut when he hit both pedals it's reasonable to say that although no speed was added, no speed was lost either. 80mph through double waved yellows on tyres past their best in a downforce car with no downforce is reckless at the very least. Every other drive was just as guilty that day of the same thing: Lewis, Alonso, Button et al. They just got lucky. If you watched the WEC race at Sao Paulo on Sunday, you would've seen all drivers slow down instantly once they saw the Webber crash, long before the FCY and then the SC were deployed. So much more common sense in that series, all round.
