  1. Sounds about right to me. Aston the better choice in that regard as you can get a manual 'box, but then there's other silly stuff that requires the entire dash removing to repair a £2 part IIRC, or something equally daft.
  2. Running costs on anything like this will be about the same, it's the breakdown costs you have to watch out for. Is there a decent indy near by, as I wouldn't want to be paying main dealer rates on an older car?
  3. I think it does, yeah. I'll give it a go tonight probably! Been playing MGSV last night, it's a bit weird. Okay, I've never played* any of the MGS games and I'm aware the back story is huge and complex and I don't intend to understand it all, but so far it's more like F.E.A.R. than what I expected. I didn't realise there was supernatural elements to it, as I'm pretty sure that a giant flaming whale attacking me from the sky isn't actually a real thing! That's not really a spoiler at all in case you're worried, it happens in the prologue which still took me 90 mins to get through and I didn't do anything really apart from hold forward on the stick. Done the first mission proper, which wasn't too bad and cleared it with a B rating which is better than I'd hoped for. Tricky though, as guard movements and especially guard changes are hard to track, along with the day/night cycle meaning you have limited time to actually do things. *I played MGS on PS1 for about 20 mins before getting stuck and giving up.
  4. I'd have the Maser over the Aston too, but only if I could find one with the automated manual 'box as the slusher just isn't sharp enough for me.
  5. If you want the noise, then the Aston. If you want the looks, then the Maser. If you want the drive, then the 911. Neither the Aston nor the Maser are as good to drive as a 911, but the interiors are a nicer place to be and stock for stock, make a much better noise. It's a toss up between the occasion and having something that handles as well as it looks. No right or wrong answer, really. M6 definitely worth a shout, you'll never get an NA V10 in a sensibly priced car again.
  6. He really wasn't though: Look at his competition when he won. Best of a bad bunch.
  7. Everything! The shape. The colour. The outline colour. How it looks on the rear. It belongs on a riced up Civic, not a 911.
  8. Bizarre, they look like 20" at least. Very good optical illusion, must be the style.
  9. How big are they? They look huge!
  10. Much like everything else he does, this is purely for self publicity. He's a cocksocket of the highest order, but he knows how to get a headline.
  11. Oh no, please don't Hugh, that looks terrible mate
  12. No idea, never used one. I'm sure a quick Google will tell you, though.
  13. Best engine in any car I've ever driven. Good luck mate, she looks an absolute peach of a car.
  14. Or Black Circles, or Pneus Online, or Asda (got my MPSS from them in Feb, they were dirt cheap!)...
  15. It's not Sunset, it was a genuine option for the 997. Never seen one in the UK though! Irritatingly I can't remember the name of it now.
  16. 230Nm is pretty much FT, so give it what you can with a torque wrench then give a bit more.
  17. With Grundy, it's usually a bumper or bits of engine!
  18. Locking wheels nuts are a terrible idea unless you have a Rolls Royce on 24" blingy wheels, they just lead to issues. Don't bother with them, no-one steals OEM wheels any more.
  19. Nope, my facepalm as I read your post wrong: I thought you meant a tyre review thread, not a tyre purchase place thread. My apologies! Tbh a places to buy tyres from thread is pretty much redundant as soon as it starts, as prices change every month so in a few weeks one retailer could go from awesome to expensive.
  20. It looks utterly horrendous. The bumper, not the exhaust.
  21. You cannot reject until they've had a chance to repair. If you don't give them that chance then court action may well fail.
  22. I've got MGSV on order too, digital though so no chance of getting it early
  23. Cue the flood of "Spacers made my car slow!" and "Spacers make no difference!" posts. They will make a difference. You can feel it. If the trade off is worth it then go ahead, some don't care and some do. As for me, I'll only fit them if I'm not adding any weight over stock.
