  1. DAS6, but you stil need to know what you're doing and compound choice is just as critical, if not more so.
  2. Although we could also mention the 997, since we're talking £50K for a GT-R.
  3. Pretty much, yeah. It start off by making you feel awesome, and then you realise that your driving is so staccato that it's getting awful, and your transition to the power is terrible.
  4. I only go to the gym so I can eat more food.
  5. I bought one. Thought it was ace. Three months later I binned it, as it's a pile of crap. Nothing beats your right foot in determining the amount of throttle you need.
  6. Well, it's at least 50% awesome then
  7. I really wouldn't. On the shortlist before the 645 were various Skylines as I've never owned one, but I only looked at the GTSTs as the GTR held no appeal for me as a driver. Same reason I bought the 911 over the GT-R. I've no doubt the R33 GTR is a quicker car than a GTST, and it's probably a better car in every measurable way, it's just not the one I'd want to own. The majority may want the GTR, and that's fine. I just don't want to be like all the others; I've always said I'd rather go slower and have more fun.
  8. I see what you're getting at now, and the confusion. The issue isn't the exact distance you should give a cyclist, the issue is that you should pass one like you'd pass a car, i.e. on the other side of the road.
  9. No such thing as undertaking, it's passing on the right
  10. Just prefer RWD to 4WD is all. Less grip, slower, more fun. I'm odd like that.
  11. Zzzzz has it right, in his pic. That's why it doesn't matter if the cyclist is by the kerb or in the middle, you still pass in the opposite lane regardless.
  12. There's black and green there too
  13. In a 370, I wouldn't bother. It can run happily on a drop of 95, and it's not hard to find 97+ up there anyway: I had no issues in the 911 a few years back.
  14. Makes no difference where the cyclist is in the lane, you still need to move across an entire lane for a safe overtake.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?t=122&v=o9pmw2ckQSU Giving cyclists at least the same room as a car is actually written down in the HC too. Cyclists have as much right to be on the road as any car, whether we like it or not, and should be treated with equal respect. Now, if they're jumping red lights then I hope the silly f*ckers get run over at some point, but then I wish the same nasty things on cars that jump red lights, or cars that don't indicate on roundabouts.* *Massive pet hate of mine. When I'm charge, I'm placing snipers at every roundabout to shoot in the face anyone not indicating.
  16. Pot, meet kettle I don't think the Clio is a bad looking hatch at all. Certainly it's not exactly masculine in looks, but it has purpose and character which is important I think. Besides, it's Jo's car to use on her commute so it didn't really have to be anything special, but given the choice of this or a diesel Focus or 1.6 Astra, I know which I'd rather have on the drive. Hopefully I'll get a chance tomorrow to clean it up properly, as although the paint looks good in that photo in the flesh it's as dull as ditchwater. I don't think it's ever seen a clean sponge in its life, much less a clay bar!
  17. That's a very good way of putting it, totally agree with you. Exhaust noise is fine, but induction noise is more aurally pleasing sound inside the cab I reckon.
  18. If there's parked cars and oncoming traffic, of course! That's clearly not a safe overtake.
