  1. The entire engine is different, and it's got forced induction. That alone makes it massively different, surely?
  2. So I had a poke around one of these today, a blue one at the PHSS at Honda UK HQ. No driving, only static. - Blue exterior with red interior seats and highlights? No. Just no. Really, Honda?! - Speaking of those seats, they're utterly wonderful. Supportive yet snug, I was as comfy in them as Jo was with her wide hips. - Engine bay is going to be 'interesting' to work in. Proper tight in there. - The steering wheel is an absolute abortion. Not even close to round, but not a proper flat bottom shape either. Feels gash in the flesh. - Gearbox seems VERY easy to hit the reverse gate when moving from 3-5. However, I've been informed that the Honda 'boxes have a magnetic lockout that's only activated when the car is on, so maybe that's not an issue. - Front end, have you ever met rear end? I don't think you have, seeing as how you're so very different in the flesh as well as on paper. - Front wing vents go only have two of the four open, and even then it's such a tiny orifice that I'm 99% sure they do two halves of chuff all. - Underbody is nicely flat, very impressive and good to see on a modern hatchback. - WTF are those stuck on bits of plastic near the rear lights, just on the flank?! They look ridiculous! - Brakes are HUGE. That's superb to see, and I've no doubt they're equally as impressive in motion. - Interior quality was very good. Not quite Audi, but it really was a nice place to be with quality trim and components. Essentially, it's just as bad in the flash as it is in the photos. Design mess, this one also was a colour-clashing mess, and that steering wheel has got to be sorted out. I still want to drive one out of morbid curiosity, but anyone who spanks over £30K on one of these needs their head examining. Or a free pass to Specsavers. And even that said, if it drives like something very awesome then I honestly would forgive it any ugliness. Sat next to an FN2 and an EP3 did it no favours though, sorry to say.
  3. Agreed. To a mate then I'd sell what I paid for it. To someone else I'd look at the market and go from there. Personally I wouldn't swap a Boxster for a Cayman, they're far too alike and the roof comes off the Boxster.
  4. You know if a car is right for you or not. Sounds like the GT-R isn't, no shame in that, I wouldn't want one either. I always wanted to drive a Hummer H2, then my Dad bought one. It's one of the most horrible things to drive in the history of the world.
  5. That's a shame, you're really going to miss out on one of the great driver's cars No way to keep it and the GT-R?
  6. I'd have gone with those as well, not sure I trust the iron ones.
  7. Wouldn't be happening if Jobs was still alive.
  8. Shame the 400 is so damn ugly. I thought Lotus only ever did pretty cars, sadly the baseball cap-wearing original Evora actually got uglier. Elise/Exige is still a looker though, thankfully!
  9. No-one ever believes you when you say how much of a difference light wheels make to the car, until they actually do it for themselves. They're then staggered by just how much more alive the car feels!

    What a beast..

A car that didn't look like a breeze block, had power you could actually use on the road and didn't have a torque curve that looks like Everest?
  11. So your dislike of Fi is theoretical, rather than physical? Can't say I understand that at all, but each to their own. Also, your sig is kinda insulting to the people that are going to try and help you here on this.

    Ferrari FXX

There is one road registered one, Guy Martin has been driving it lately. Heard them at Silverstone on a Ferrari jolly, they're awesome machines. You wouldn't believe how light the wheel with tyre is!
  13. I played it for about 15 hours then got bored and/or frustrated. Thankfully it was free on the Xbone after the AC debacle, I really didn't enjoy it much at all. MGS GZ is good fun, all finished now. Hoping TPP is just as good!
  14. They want to know where the car is kept overnight, not what you use for your postal address. Don't try and get around the system, it's really not worth it for a couple of hundred quid.
  15. B, assuming they're lighter than A. If they're not, then A. Not C. They look cheap.
  16. That old, I bet he gets minimum fine + 4pts. Youngster would almost certainly get a ban.

    My 911

Some gen2s use nowt, some use 1L/1K miles. Mine was closer to the latter when I bought it, by the end it was barely using anything. I'm sure that driving them hard now and then is better than pootling along in 7th.

    My 911

They're the same. What little extra I might've paid by having to use OPC servicing I saved by not needing to mod the car, so it actually worked out cheaper. 15k a year means you'll be servicing once every 18 months, which isn't that bad at all. Gen2 engines can use a bit of oil though (by design), so take that into account. As a guide, mine used about 1L every 2500 miles.
  19. And if you have a passenger, remember it's the biggest bladder that determines toilet breaks, not the smallest.
  20. Nothing good. You could argue that since you're not insured on track anyway it doesn't matter how you drive there, but they'll stitch you regardless and then you'll have that data recorded for posterity.
  21. Also, have you tried A-Plan? They're very helpful, and might be able to find you something.
  22. I consider any kind of box used on a performance car a bad thing. It's a downward spiral, lets not convince them it's a good idea. Ring Ensure (E-sure?) and tell them you've had a quote of £1200, see if they'll beat it.
