Best courier? Right now, I'd say DPD. Real time courier tracking leaves you in no doubt where the parcel is, and I've never found their guys to be anything less than professional.

For £30, who cares? If they last a year I'd just throw them away and buy new ones.

Should be: 50-20 low pressure x10 70-40 med pressure x10 100-40 as hard as you can before ABS x10 ...each with a long gap between, driving at speed to get some decent airflow over the brakes to cool them i.e. not touching them at all. In theory a little smoke isn't surprising, but a lot would be a worry. And make sure you don't sit on the brakes at a junction when they're that hot, you'll transfer material over in seconds.

Just knock a couple of inches off the blade size, pick a really cheapy one up from eBay or wherever, just make sure it's new so that it does actually work

If it's not a swept area, you can have what you like there. As long as it gives "the driver an adequate view of the road" (their words, not mine) then smaller wipers are fine. Trust me, I'm as picky as anyone, but this is absolutely fine and a genuine workaround. Or you find an MOT place that has half a brain.

Yeah, so put smaller ones on that don't, it's only for the test. You can put your regular ones back on afterwards.

If the wiper blade touches it, it's an MOT fail. Solution: Fit shorter blades for the MOT test

They're fine to use, however you must make sure the car is 100% clean and dry before you put it on. Having to do that every single time I wanted to drive the damn thing would do my nut in.

Okay, definitely puts you out of blob STi territory then. Personally I'd beg, steal or borrow another couple of £K and get into the STi as it's worth every single penny, but then you may well find the WRX suits your needs just as well and for less.
