  1. I would never seriously consider listening to music on YT. It's a rubbish interface for doing that, especially when you have Spotify et al. It surprised me when Bowie died and the radio station started playing his stuff non-stop just how much of his stuff I know and like. As such, it would be worthwhile for me picking up some of his earlier stuff to see if the albums are to my taste as well, and it only takes a few people like me to do the same out of curiosity more than anything. Given that Spotify also qualifies for the main charts these days, people may well be listening to the stuff non-stop as a tribute for gratis. @Linus: Cheers for the heads up on those tracks, I'll pick them up and use them for fine tuning. I also use Sting's 'Fields Of Gold' for that kind of thing, it's very intricately laced with multiple subtle tracks that I never noticed until someone pointed them out to me. He's still an absolute bellend, but I can't knock his music
  2. I mean, my setup isn't especially fancy by any means (Kef iQ90 fronts, iQ50 centre, iQ30 rears, Kube2 sub, VSX 920 AVR) but I can still tell the difference between the lower and higher bitrate stuff even on that. Maybe not on some modern compressed stuff, but certainly when you go back to things like Thriller, or even Fat Of The Land; things that have very high production values are especially noticeable.
  3. Be aware folks, those of you with the Admiral group aren't covered for the value of your mods should you have an accident.
  4. I can only imagine how lethal it would've been on either rubbish tyres or if I'd taken the MR2 on 888s.
  5. Not even in the same league. Like comparing a 370 with a GTR, in a way. A great car for what it is, but if you're after something that will suck your eyeballs out then you need the big power.
  6. New MOT (no advisories), new seal on the AC compressor so it blows ice cold again, and my favourite geo settings now back on the car. If only the roads weren't quite so cold, I'd be in absolute heaven.
  7. It's pretty difficult to determine the difference between lossless and 256 unless you've got some decent kit (i.e. not your car stereo!), but when you can it will blow your mind. I still grab 256 via iTunes because of ease, but a lot of my older stuff is ripped in Apple lossless and it sounds immense on the home stereo. And no, a set of Beats headphones will not suffice either. I actually tried some of the new ones the other day, I cannot believe that people are still buying these under the impression they're actually top-end. Imbalanced garbage.
  8. Nearly died today! Let's just say that a road on which you can spin the wheels up in 4th at 30mph isn't a very fun road at all
  9. It's not really damage though, not really. It'll work absolutely fine, that weld looks as good as any others, no issue at all. I mean, send it back if you want, but I think it's like rejecting a banana because it's not the right angle.
  10. Not convinced I'd be that bothered, tbh. Probably dropped in the workshop, slight dent, welded to prevent a leak. You wouldn't even know it was there when on the the car.
  11. Linky no worky, you've parsed the code incorrectly matey. Everyone should have an OBDII reader these days really. With a smartphone, you just need a £10 dongle and some free software and you're sorted.
  12. Right, gotcha. Might be worth speaking with Meister R directly, but I'd be very surprised if the kit sat the same as stock at the max settings. That said, I would be equally amazed if those settings weren't more than sufficient to clear any speedbump without issue: Certainly on every car I've ever fitted new springs and dampers to that were adjustable, I've always been able to set it at a sensible height as I don't see the point in going super-low either. I think you're probably over-thinking this if I'm honest, which is of course the better way to be, but it's not something I'd give a second thought to. Even just dropping 20mm would still clear any legal speedbump with ease, plus you'll have firmer dampers too so the car won't sag as much when you do come across the bump.
  13. If I had to guess, I'd say that you'll want to put them at the max height they'll go to as most aftermarket stuff is lower than stock at the base setting. Could you not just measure your current ride height before you swap them over?
  14. Once you've done that, then click 'use full editor' at the bottom of the edit box. Right next to 'save changes'.
  15. In a somewhat disappointing end to what I secretly hoped would be a titanic struggle between myself and the faceless corporation, the debt has been cancelled. This is all because of an intervention from a member on here (who shall remain nameless, unless they want to post up themselves) who contacted me and offered his assistance as he works for BT. A quick email, an even quicker phonecall and BT confirmed that they hadn't got a clue what was going on either. They also couldn't find the account, had no idea what it related to, so they've recalled the debt and written it off. I cannot thank the chap who volunteered his help enough, one of the nicest things anyone's done for me for a while and very much appreciated. The only reason I'm not naming him is in case he doesn't want to be flooded with messages from others who want some help within BT! But you know who you are, and once again matey I definitely owe you a beer or two.
  16. Because you're pushing harder, and mistakes do happen quicker at high speed.
  17. It's not my own driving I'm worried about. It's other people. As per the recent thread in PH SP&L, one idiot can write your car off incredibly easily.
  18. Han Solo dies. Oh, not that kind of spoiler...
  19. I'll end up in a ditch next week now, you wait and see.
  20. You may want to get it now or not at all, there's very few people playing right now as it is (PC version is practically dead) so if you wait too much longer you'll only see empty lobbies. It does look like huge fun, but I know I'd get bored within a week. The only FPS that's kept me interested in the last few years was Titanfall. That was a blinder of a game.
  21. One man's lack of control is another man's perfectly executed four wheel slide But yeah, don't be a knob around other drivers. That's just silly.
  22. Slidey car weather time, yay! :D This is kind of weather that sorts the men from the boys. I love it, I really do. There is nothing like the challenge of keeping a good pace in changeable conditions, it's so much more fun than flat out in the dry. It's not about driving like a knob though, it's about control.
