  1. E34 M5? Pics man, pics! But in answer to your question, no, you cannot put an M reg on a '91 car.
  2. Don't worry, I'll be back to usual later
  3. Meh, we're like monkeys with typewriters, at some point we were going to end up writing something vaguely sensible after all these years
  4. Bang on with the R34 GT-R, another great looking car as stock. I quite like the MkIV Supra too, I must admit.
  5. Trouble I have with most (but not all) bodykits is that they're invariably applied to pretty cars anyway. Something like the RX7 or the NSX is just absolutely perfect from an aesthetic viewpoint, and anything else you do to it just kills it. It's like putting a bikini on the Mona Lisa. A 350Z can be helped by new bumpers in some cases, like the Chargespeed stuff which is especially lovely. Anything that adds big angles or bulbous bodywork just doesn't suit the design well. All IMHO, as usual.
  6. From the MOT manual, regarding LSD-equipped cars: In all honesty, whilst there remains a tiny chance of a regular roller brake test damaging an LSD, you put more stress through the system by accelerating hard out of a tight corner. Unless the tester is sitting there testing one wheel repeatedly for an hour, it's not likely to cause any extra damage or wear and it's not something I ever worry about.
  7. Honest, it was shockingly bad, and I wanted to like it so I could play a racing game with my mates. Sadly it was gash. I've gone back to Hitman Absolution this week, on the PC this time. Still an absolutely amazing game, and one of the only stealth games that makes me want to perfect a level rather than just getting through it and be damned with the score. Hopefully the new one will be equally entertaining, but I'm a little dubious now they're moving to episodic content as that usually means it's not finished. Still, if it can be 80% as good then I'll be very happy.
  8. You need to move out first fella. Owning a brand new car but living with your parents? C'mon. The trouble is that the Stang is going to tie you down for what, three years at least? And then you're going to have to refinance the balloon, or sell the car, so either that's another three years or you've just wasted three years. If you're spending that much on the car then you're definitely not going to be able to do any serious saving, which means that you're even further from moving out, and at 23/24 you're really going to want your own place. That's the point when you realise that you definitely can't afford anywhere as interest rates are higher and property has gone up another 20%, so you're even more stuffed. If you had your own place already (owned or rented) then I'd say go for it and live the dream, but as you don't and you're on practically minimum wage then that's just crazy.
  9. It happens to every one eventually mate, soon you'll be demanding MPSS on everything and waxing lyrical about how all modern music is utter rubbish!
  10. Woah, stop right there! £16K a year and you're looking at buying a car worth more than twice that? That's the very definition of insanity. Unless you can buy it outright with cash, there's no planet on which buying a brand new Mustang would make any sense at all, not on those wages. I mean, how much is the rent and utilities on the place you're living at now? That's got to account for a massive chunk of your wages, surely.
  11. It's utter turgid sh*te. Controls are a mess, cutscenes absolutely dreadful, just no.
  12. Interesting review of a UK V8 Stang on UK roads in this month's Evo. Not particularly positive in terms of handling, which is a shame.
  13.    £13K for an 06 Cat D Failside kitted car??!!    I mean, some nice gear under all that tat, but that's insane money.
  14. I'd be amazed if you are. You can get track day cover for the Ring, but only on proper track days rather than a touristenfahrten. Even if you think you are, get them to confirm on a separate letter that you are 100% covered to drive the Ring on a regular day.
  15. Agree with jjdugen, definitely no need for an oil cooler at the Ring at all, even taken at average pace it flows more than enough to get plenty of cooling air through the car as stock. Other than general trackday prep stuff (so fluids, pads, driver prep etc) the only other thing to remember is that you're not insured on the Ring, so any accidents can and will get very expensive very quickly. I found it a bit dull there myself, but it was nice to say I've done it and the history there alone makes it worth a drive.
  16. See, I'd rather do the opposite: Buy cheap, then put my own stamp on it to get a car that's better than the Trophy for less money. Actually, that's exactly what we did, and the other half is loving her time in the Clio right now
  17. The Trophy is a magnificent car, but it's mostly that way because of the very expensive dampers. Given the premium on the Trophy, I'd probably just get a regular full fat 182 and swap the suspension out and get some Recaro seats for the interior. You're 99% of the way there then, unless you absolutely must have the orange paint as well.
  18. Really, you're absolutely right. Do the house first, you'd be mad not to. If I'd have done that though, I would never have owned my dream car. Okay, so in a few years time maybe I'd have enough to do it anyway, but I wouldn't have had it when I was so young. If the Mustang is your dream ultimate car, then I'd go for it, but otherwise I'd do the property thing instead.
  19. Do your own one I reckon, that way you know exactly what you're getting and that everything will be awesome.
  20. Cripes, an SMG one! They're even rarer than the manual 'box, that's a great find! Here's my take on everything, for what it's worth. The sensible thing to do is to get on the property ladder, as house prices and interest rates are only going one way from this point. It's NEVER going to be cheaper to get into the market now, and by doing so you set yourself up for life if you do it even vaguely sensibly. That said, cars are a hobby, a passion. If you can afford it and know the downsides, then just do it as you're only young once. I spunked a fortune on cars before buying a decent sized house, but I wouldn't swap those memories for anything.

    2003 350GT

Nope, still no idea if I like that or not!
  22. Supreme is fine, no better or worse than any other premium fuel in your car.

    Continental Tyres!!!

If they're the 5s (and they probably are), then yes, they're good tyres. Definitely get the alignment sorted, what kind did you have on the old car? If you've got the exact figures, even better. IIRC the 370 has a shorter wheelbase too, so that might account for it feeling twitchier.
  24. Doesn't sound like he's done either though.
