1. Because we have a much higher standard of living, and that costs.
2. GTR 911 V8V Maser GT M5/M6 TTRS Evora So much choice at that level.
3.
How long does one have to be nominated before passing the buck.
I reckon a day seems about right to me
4. Okay, so two pages of me is probably enough, so I nominate... Humpy! First question: What did you want to be when you were young, and how close is what you're doing now to that?
5.
Is it true that by punching a horse, you accidentally created a new species and named it a giraffe?
Ah, now you're mixing me up with God. It's an easy mistake, I know.
6.
Is this just, ask Ekona time Do you like having your ego massaged?
I figured on one person a day, I'll nominate someone in a bit, fear thee not. Depends. On some stuff yes, but on other stuff no. It makes me happy when I'm appreciated, but then is that not the same for everyone? I don't know.
Do you not like the 370z community?
The community yes, the car not so much. I mean, I like it more than I did when I first saw it as the looks have massively grown on me, I just can't get past the interior. I've never met a 370 owner I didn't like though, so I guess I do like the 370 community.
you once said that your user name "Ekona" came from the side of a box you saw. What was in that box?
Hah, good memory! Just regular officey-type filing stuff, probably invoices or drawings or tax stuff. Nowt exciting.
What was the content of your last dream - odd one I know, but maybe it'll answer how you "tick"
I can actually remember this one! It was two days ago, and it involved me moving house (not surprising, considering it's a year tomorrow since I moved last) and I was rummaging around for stuff. I remember looking under the bed and seeing two pairs of eyes glowing back at me: My two cats were under there. I picked one up and moved him somewhere safe, and I went back to stroke the other one as she was laying in the sun. I remember this so well because when I woke up, I wasn't sad for a change. That was the first dream I've had for many weeks involving my cat who passed away back in October, and for the first time since then I'd dreamed about her and not woke up in tears. It kinda felt nice, just to remember her and know she's gone but to only think about the good stuff, and not be totally upset about her not being here any more. Almost like I'm finally accepting that she's gone.
7. It's why I used to use an old tyre.
8. Dealer never got back to me in the end, despite promising to. I could still chase it up, I guess.
9.
Is there anything that you don't have an opinion about?
You hussy, I'm a married man don't you know! I dunno, actually. I kinda believe that everyone should have an opinion of some kind on everything, although sometimes it's hard to form a true opinion if you don't have a lot of knowledge on the subject. I always try to dig a little bit deeper on subjects I'm not familiar with before making a comment (you have no idea how often I'll quickly google something before posting), but for the most part I'm comfortable enough just to go with what my instinct tells me. It's saved more often than it's failed me, put it that way.
10. Like most things it takes time, patience, and an extraordinary amount of effort to be this way. Also, you spelt 'keyboard warrior' wrong
11. MR2 trackpig is probably not going to see a track day again under my ownership, but I'm looking to book the 645 up for some track action soon. I quite fancy Snetterton I think, as I've never been there yet. And just turn up fella, you're welcome to a drive any time.
12. Because it means I can go faster Also I might've misjudged the offset slightly
13. Ooh, good question! I don't *think* anyone has a nickname for me, or at least if they do no-one's let on as to what it might be to my face. I remember back at primary school aged about 8 or 9, in a much more innocent time in life before anyone actually knew what the word meant, I used to be called Danny Fanny though
14. Honestly, yes. If you don't think the MPSS are utterly brilliant after one year I'll refund you the £200 myself.
15. Just for giggles, like. It's an AMA (Ask Me Anything) thread, go as crazy as you will but let's try and keep it out of the green room A good way to get to know your fellow members if nothing else, or ask those questions you've always wanted to! Since I started I guess I get to go first, I'll nominate one of the persons who posts a question to me and then they can go next, and so on and so forth. So go forth and question!
16. Speak to Chris at TarmacSportz, I'd be amazed if he couldn't help you out
17. have you tried it though? Bearing in mind OEM geo settings make the Zed understeer anyway. With a sensible geo, that will make the car come alive. With an aggressive geo it could be a bit twitchy for some, but I promise you pretty much no-one here is running anywhere near close to that.
18. Not even close. It's like choosing Lidl budget salmon flakes over Harrod's Smoked Salmon Fillet Rubbed On A Virgin Thigh. You'll save that easy in tyre wear alone.
19. They're definitely a 'nice to have', and they certainly look the part, but I've never bothered and I'm not 100% convinced they're necessary. Save the money and put it towards beer
20. I honestly wouldn't bother. If you were storing them outside then yes, maybe, but over one winter they'll be absolutely fine. Chuck 'em in the shed somewhere off the ground and that'll be fine. I store my 888s on the car, in the garage, and they're still good.
21. Thing is, there's nothing cooler than driving along through town in a Delorean with the doors open. That's worth the price alone.
22. funny thing is I got the setting from asking you originally and cannot for the life of me remember, but still alive so could have been on the setting mentioned just now í ½í¸› Sounds reasonable, medium all round is always the best starting place, but you'll definitely want to change round once you're used to it.
23. Erm, no. Front too stiff is understeer city, it's a sports car not a bloody hot hatch.
24. Hang on, Gibbo?! I know him from 911uk, met him at a dyno event one time! Cracking guy, he had the 997.1 with the powerkit that wasn't the full powerkit, best sounding gen1 car I ever heard. Very surprised he only rated his own car at 7/10 and the Mustang at 8/10 for sound, that seems way off to me. Lovely guy though, tell him I said hi.
