If it's only done it since the tyres, then it's almost guaranteed to be the tyres. Stock sizes on 18" wheel on a 350 are 225/45/18 and 245/45/18.

Low?! They weigh under 900kg dry, 240bhp is plenty quick enough. Too much and you're hanging on rather than driving. That said, that chassis could probably handle a lot more but with the crappy suspension and slow-witted gearbox, you wouldn't want anything more anyway.
