  1. You’ll need something to attach the harnesses to, so either a bar (if it allows the correct break angle on the install) or bolting down somewhere in the boot should suffice. Any decent harness will do, I’d always go 3” for comfort and other than that style is pretty much up to you. I believe that technically you need a seatbelt buckle style still for MOT compliance, but you’d have to find a pretty picky tester for that to ever come up. I’m a fan of the Schroth ones, but honestly it’s up to you at that point.
  2. Imagine being in a roll over situation where you’ll be jerked around everywhere, your head could easy come into contact with one or more parts of the roll cage which can actually make the fitting of one more dangerous. I would seriously consider either wearing a helmet all the time when driving, or fitting a quality harness system with that setup. Are they genuine Bride seats? If so they will be fine with harnesses, if fake then be aware that their structural rigidity may fail when using harnesses due to the forces involved. Tricky this stuff, ain’t it?!
  3. Safer? Arguably, but only if worn correctly. That would mean installing them with the correct break angle, and ensuring they are fully tightened when in use and in 5 or 6 point form to prevent submarining. That said, where does your head sit in relation to that roll cage? If there is any chance that in an accident it could come into contact with that cage then you should be wearing a helmet anyway, so a harness done up tight might prevent the need to wear a helmet.
  4. I’d say the front 3/4 is almost pure Panamera. It’s good, but those rear lights are awful. I’ll have to have a drive in one though.
  5. Still nope. Especially in primer.

    Oil guzzler

What 350 do you have? DE, Revup or HR? And how bad is the oil consumption?
  7. Not gonna happen. An EV option sure, but fully electric? Nope.
  8. And pushing a button or pulling a little lever isn’t? There’s a little light that comes on the dash regardless of the system you have in your car.
  9. You need a specialist like Torqen, Abbey, Horsham etc to take a look over it to be sure. They will know specifics that the AA/RAC can’t possibly know to look out for.
  10. Why? It’s pretty simple to tell when either one is on or working.
  11. Not sure what your point is? Guy said he thought the car was in gear, well it clearly wasn’t which means he probably didn’t put the e-brake on either. Not sure anything has failed other than the driver, and whilst I hate e-brakes as well I don’t believe they’re any less safe than a regular handbrake and certainly not any less likely to be put on (all cars I’ve driven with them including my 5er shout at you if you’ve not put it on!). One mistake doesn’t make the tech useless.
  12. As long as you check the repair, are happy with it, and most importantly get it for a much reduced rate then no reason not to buy it tbh. And don’t forget that it’ll be harder to sell on in the future too.
  13. Clio 182 is the best fwd car I’ve ever driven. And by some margin, too. Absolutely love them, and they’re the only fwd car I would ever consider owning again (assuming I had something rwd to partner it!).
  14. Me too, I seriously missed the boat there. I’d have a 255 in Yellow with Recaros please!
  15. I think picking a car based on the sodding aerial is bonkers.
  16. Caveat emptor, sadly. A lesson for us all, hope it was a bargain!
  17. Why would you need a specialist for a tyre change? They’re a regular bolt-type, anywhere can do them. I’m sure they’re a fantastic car to drive, sadly it’s the wrong two wheels for me.
  18. Retrospective is a very dangerous tool, and it should never be used unless we’re talking war crimes tbh. And they *should* be taxed per country, not in every country else you’re looking at ridiculous levels of tax which simply isn’t fair. Let’s not forget that these megacorps produce huge amounts of revenue in this and every country, tax them so hard they leave and you’re left with nothing. No one wants that. However, let’s not forget we weren’t talking about Facebook et al, we were talking on a personal level of the individual. £500k is nothing, not when you consider the average house value these days.
  19. Who cares? If that’s who he wants to be let him, you know the truth. I couldn’t care less what others say about modified cars I’ve owned and sold, that’s on their conscience.
  20. Tax them at the point of use, not at the point many years later. That’s my point.
  21. Someone started those, from absolutely nothing. So yes, it still applies. And yes, if the state doesn’t like them circumventing perfectly legally the tax laws at source then change the tax laws.
  22. In that case it should be perfect, they really are great cars.
  23. One is dedicated sports car, one is a tarred up 1 series. My brother has a 240 and it’s brilliant, but the Porkers are another step up altogether. It’s not about the figures, it’s about the whole package.
