Half a million is easy to pass though if you’re including property, that’s my issue. Make it £5M+ and I’d consider it vaguely sensible. That being said, if it’s been earned legitimately (ie not via crime) then tax has been paid at source, so why should it have to be paid again? We already have inheritance tax which is bad enough, this would be an absolute urine-stealer. Let’s say I work hard and make a company that employs thousands, creates huge amounts of wealth for the country, and am able to set my kids up for life, why should I be punished? If people are following the rules on tax and avoiding it legally, then change the rules on tax in the first place. Don’t move the goalposts because the state is too inept to create something that’s not possible to bend.

Labour die-hards would love nothing better than a good wealth tax, what a lovely way to get some easy money from anyone who’s dared to work hard in their life. Thankfully Starmer seems too sensible to go down that route right now. Ive got a banging pension with the prison service, 5% from me and 25% from them, can’t complain at that at all. Also got a private one from previous work but that’s just a tiddler really. Tbh I’m expecting to die in service so it’s all irrelevant

First Z - approx £10k budget - what would you do?Ekona replied to hiphopopotamus's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages The seats in my VXR were the comfiest I’ve ever sat in, which was lucky as I bought the car totally unseen from Wales and had never driven one But if you have any interest in cars whatsoever and the budget allows, an Elise-chassis car must be owned at least once in your life. Even if for only a year, it’ll be the most memorable year of driving you’ll ever have.

It’s easy to land on a flat planet though, eh?

370z radiator filler cap (not coolant reservoir cap) where to purchase?Ekona replied to TheOracle71's topic in Styling I’d be amazed if there isn’t a company in the Uk who can knock you up a few to your specs if you ask.

Plus vat and import tax I had to google what one of these even was! Seems bloody expensive just to not have a warning screen.
-
Yeah who needs sensors to tell you when things are wrong, much better to bury your head in the sand and not think about it
-
Ordered it day one but missed the first batch as every website crashed, eventually turned up just before Xmas but totally worth the wait.

And tbh if you’re paying for a pro detail, don’t muck around and get a ceramic coating instead. It’s a billion times better than any wax, and actually lasts unlike a wax (12mths my arse, never found one to be of any use after 3 at the absolute most and that’s with serious prep and thought into it too!). Can’t really go wrong with the SC range tbh, but ask what the detailer in question prefers to use.

Trust me, the 3080 is everything it’s said to be and more. 4K/60 ultra in cyberpunk, ac Valhalla, wd legion etc is simply incredible. Such a step up from either 4K/30 or 1080/60 that it’s worth every penny, I love mine.

If you’re not applying it then wax is wax more or less, so yeah it’ll be fine.

Tbh I haven’t posted because it’s electric so has zero desire for me, and the Taycan exists which is a more desirable car. Same way I’d always want the sportier/premium version of any VAG product rather than the cheaper one. That said, it’s not horrendous to look at. Except for both wheel options
-
A value is only set by the price someone is willing to pay, if it was worth a grand someone would’ve paid that for it no harm at all in holding out for what you want for it, but it’s not true to say it’s worth £1k on the hope that someone then sees it as a bargain at £500. All IMHO, and the values mentioned by the OP and the offeree would seem to be fair in my eyes.

I particularly like the fact that Mars is the only planet we know of entirely populated by robots.
-
Just be aware of the weight and construction of cheaper wheels, you may find they’re an awful lot heavier than you think.
-
I would’ve thought OEM Rays posted in the 350 section would be obvious enough
-
Just get a set of OEM Rays, you won’t get a better wheel without spending daft money

I disagree on the size differences/TC issue. The difference on both is less than 3%, the car will be happy with that and that’s not an uncommon tyre size to run when moving to 19” wheels. Spot on about the lack of sidewall causing comfort problems though, plus the car will likely be slower and handle noticeably poorer given the usual increase in unsprung mass that moving to larger wheels normally entails.
-
Since wider tyres are more susceptible to aquaplaning than narrower ones, I question the validity of this.
-
I doubt it. Certainly not in a form that we’re used to, or one that we would actually enjoy either.

For the first few minutes I thought he was missing the point entirely, but by the end he nails it completely. Great video, and sums up perfectly why the BRZ86 is what it is.
-
I’d love an ND, for me it’s absolutely perfect especially in the facelift with the extra grunt of, what, 185bhp? Bang on where it needs it to be tbh, given the weight. I don’t dislike the looks of the Fiat, but a revvy 2.0 NA trumps a wheezy 1.4 turbo lump any day for me. These cars are all about purity of control over power, and the Mazda wins hand down.

Well, it makes the ZP look better at least.
