If you get an all in one unit like the 7200, they are a pain to get out if they dont know how, they look built in and will probably damage when removing so according to a few people the little $hits dont go for them.... If you want some security, then you could look at the Kenwood KOS range, they do a v-500 that will fit in your rear cubby, one cable goes to a kos-702 that you can fit in the upper dash cubby, then all your sat nav, ipod, bluetooth plugs into the v-500 in the rear cubby nice and safe... All the bits come up on ebay from time to time. Its touch screen and has a remote that you can control all your bits from... Good think about it being "moduler" is that you can add the bits when you get the cash!

It is a shady area and after being followed by 2 police cars and another chatting to me at a motorway services and nothing being said, I think that black and silver have a blind eye turned to them... After all you can still read them so the argument of in the event of an accident and your tag may not be able to be read properly (ie ones that use italics, wrong spaces etc...) Anyway, they are only being switched to the B&S for shows etc!

I did get a fine..... That was the point, but if I had turned them round straight away the policeman may have been lenient! I am sure pre '73 cars numberplates can be picked up on SPECS etc so how can they be "illegal" ..... If they were totally illegal then they should be banned from being used on any car... Am sure it was the case when the law was being passed, some lord that had a huge classic car collection decided that he didnt want stupid yellow plates on his cars!

Got the best of both worlds at the moment, *Legal* Black and silver on one side (that look loads better than the 100% legal ones!) and legal on the other, and then screwed on so you can switch them... When stopped, apologise and say you have been to a show or photoshoot and forgot to switch them.... Say you will change them right away, get screwdriver from the boot and switch them over... No £30 fine... Just got to remember to carry a screwdriver!! As the nice policeman wouldnt lend me his!! And gave me a little letter to remind me!

First time for a proper drive today since fitting my new knob... Would have failed my driving test today as I couldnt keep my hand off it... I was quite suprised how warm it had become considering it started off cold... Quite interesting that there is now no vibrations running through it as its quite weighty... Fnarr! Fnarr! Also interesting that you know exactly what gear your in... something I didnt all the time BTW... Totally off topic.... Did a google search for Finbarr Saunders.... And there is someone out there with the same name!! And this is him And no I havnt just spent the last 10 mins looking for other people with Viz character names!!

The guys at GTArt modded mine and then refitted but as Ian says, fine to remove!

Speak to Andy on here as he can supply kit and sort out the install hes not far from you either. HU, I really like my kenwood DNX-7200 but havnt really used any other, like the interface on the alpines though. I have Kickers in the rears, they are a good all round recommendation and are a good balance to the decent genesis ones I have upfront... I would go for all 4 but others prefer just the front 2... Are you going for a Sub? Stock location isnt great cause it does give you a thump in the back with the base up.... There are ways of fitting so you dont get a massive kick... Or you can fit under the strut...
