  1. Hi Nigel, I'm selling an almost identical Z with 29k on the clock just after a P3 and finding the phone awfully quiet ;-) can you PM me with the price it went for as I may have to remove from sale if too low! Sorry you had to part with her btw - great pics!
  2. Hi Guys, with 1 eye on not leaving the Mrs a Widow I'm considering a driver training day.. I can't quite stretch to CAT at £600+ any recommendations? Any text or video resources along the lines of www.Ijustboughtmyfirst300bhpcaranddontw ... anoddy.com ??
  3. Thanks all, with the roadster, tempting to get soemthing with 4 seats a felxible boot.. the Honda Jazz fits the bill there.. she's also looking at Fiat Panda Citroen C3, and Yaris, all top end of budget though!
  4. Bloody Hell this chat takes me back! Used to do sea bottom survey / rig moves, based mostly on converted trawlers, mainly out in Asia but spend a year working Stavanger /Bergen / Faroes, had a few nights in Aberdeen now and again (My grandfather was a regular at Pittodrie I'm told so was good to look around..)
  5. Hi Guys, the wife never learned to drive (didn't take test at least) and i'm obviously not teaching her in the 350z .. Wondered if you had any recommendations for £1-2.5k cars to kick off in.. initial thoughts .. Fiat Seicento Arbarth ;-) Would be handy to be luggable to make up for my roadster, but ideally small / capable of motorway trips occasionally! I've got to spend both our allowances on my 350z so fair's fair..
  6. Remove the Gard-X?! that would hurt less if i'd gotten it done FOC! I'll have a look around the paint, its 2 yrs old so not bad at all but I have noticed the dealer left a swirl or two when giving it their complimentary clean (aargh!) Not sure I could stretch to a full correction / bear to rip off of the Gard-X just yet, let me mull! Inside they cleaned and sprayed, not sure they conditioned the leather, I always used Macguires on my last car but not sure I can do this through the Gard-X treatment?
  7. I'd be interested BUT dealer had my 3yr old roadster Gard-X'd inside and out before collection protecting the swirls etc!! What can / can't you do?? Surrey, 350z roadster btw.. could meet at a convenient spot / double up locally, garage tiny and in a block in a turning circle! loads of space (15 empty spaces) at work, but would need a fair run to tap and no cover..
  8. Main warranty still has 6 months to run but this was due to manual intereference.. Hence they felt this fell under second hand warranty of 3 months.. I did report fault within that period though, regardless the law says 6 months not 3 so I wasn't going to accept that!
  9. I didn't see it but from description, the wire had been cut for tracker or whatever so live feed not ignition, and was badly twisted / little melted.. I now see 0.08A and was 0.5A (peaked at 0.8A) so thats a significant drain certianly.. more than a little concerned at potential fire risk that was, and yes I'd also expect more damage.. perhaps they underplayed that.. Making me think twice about an ICE install though!!
  10. Hi Guys, resolved, long argument but went armed having taken legal advice and spoken to Nissan UK.. The service department got stiffed by sales from what i could gather so i've sent em a little something by way of peace offering.. sales coughed.. (after I walked out and made arrangements to pay for storage of vehicle while I pursued my 2 legal cases for negligence re: first repair, and under 2002 additions to sale and supply of goods act 1979.. to be fair, I meant it.. Had my leg lifted once by them.. no one lifts my leg twice..
  11. Ok problem found but dealer being a pain.. as i'd found a 0.5-0.8A draw on battery, dealer worked on this for 2 days, and eventually found a cut wire behind dash which had been repaired by .. twisting them together .. it was shorting and draining.. probably remnants of an old phone kit from previous owner.. The problem I have is I bought this (06) car in October, first took it to dealer with the issue in early december and though battery passed test, I ended up with a new one as nothing else could be found as cause, and I was £140 lighter (warranty claim not valid as battery within nissan norms and i needed the car back.) Now Wilsons epsom want £185 in labour charges for finding the fault (which they sold me) .. Service and Sales can't agree on who should pay and after 3 days are asking i go in to mediate!?? (Sales say as out of the 3 months its my cost) Is it me or are they out of their minds? Recommendations guys?
  12. No all checked.. and its 0.5A! I did wonder if it was an old tracking unit that hasn't been uninstalled.. covert fit though as i've looked in usual places (What I do for a living)
  13. Well.. another day another dead battery.. the new one of course (replaced in dec after 3 failures despite Nissan's computer saying battery was fine..) this time deader than a dead thing.. so back at dealer.. did find it had a 0.5A draw when all locked up so something not right.. waited 15 mins for ecu etc to shut down but no change.. anyone know how long before car should be down to normal (typically 0.03-5A) load? Given I had to pay £134 for a new battery in dec, should I be expecting a warranty claim this time?
  14. I take it the KOS range connects via FM antenna to the BOSE? Interesting solution that, I assume a little jiggery pokery required to install monitor in cubby but neat.. Hadn't realised how cost effective the all-in one is (5220BT / 7200) compared to the KOS components.. £400 for nav, £200 for screen, etc etc I'm going to look at 5220bt/7200+BT (8220 looking too big a premium) Thanks again for the tip! PS Kenwood use the 350 in their promo shot: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/eXcelon/Mobile_Video_n_Navigation/ New ones coming.. http://www.itechnews.net/tag/kenwood-dnx9140/
