  1. I thought Eleanor was a custom made car especially for the film which was actually not in production. Only after the success of the film did they actually make a version of it. Well thats what a program all about the making of it said on Discovery
  2. Most important thing is your fine. Cars can be replaced. Did you have traction control on?
  3. These wheels have now been provisionally sold. Sorry to those who recently liked the look of them. A friend who said he wanted them for his 200SX is going for them.

    Audi A5

Yup - I think previously the Audis did look like a bit above the other VAG group cars but now they fell like they are not really that much better so hard to justify the extra price over the other ones. I think giving the TT the same grill was a bad move as that was one car in thier range which was individual and not quite following the mould. Now an audi could come up behind you and it could be virtually any model from the look at the front.
  5. Noo don't do it. Alpine D310 + Bluetooth interface. Much better IMO

    Audi A5

Looks rather bland to me. But then it looks like a lot of the As are going that way. All looking the same just different size. The S versions are much better looking.
  7. Do these just sit on top of the standard parts? If so how are they attached and could they be removed at the later date leaving the factory panels undamaged?
  8. I currently have two people interested in these wheels. Hopefully by the end of the month I should know for sure if they are going to buy them or not. If they are still available after that I will let you know. To courier them I expect would be around £35/£40
  9. Those Cobra seats are very comfy. A friend had them in his car and they fitted me perfectly. Only thing was the leather was not the greatest and look to wear fairly badly within the year. I would recommend regularly cleaning and feeding the leather
  10. I ended up going for some Bosch blades - £13.50 from the local motor factor for all 3, that along with some RainX and they are working perfectly. I cleaned the windows properly before putting the RainX on.
  11. Its not a great price but I would not say its a bad price. Obviously an import but if your looking to get the non GT/import ones then it looks a fairly good buy. If its a case of this or a 'normal' car its worth a stab. To get a similar UK speced car your looking at another 4K+
  12. Have you pre-allocated the virtual disk? If you haven't, it will keep asking for extensions to the underlying OS and slow things down. When you create the virtual disk for the VM, make sure its all preallocated. Good point. I will have to change the disk so its all pre-allocated. Still does not explain why there was such a difference between nativly on slower CPUs than on the larger server
  13. Do you know if VMs which have been imported from Workstation have performance issues over those which have been created on the GSX Server from scratch? [GSX3.0.1 which we have on a years trial] We have found that doing disk 'things' in the VMs can be cripling i.e. Guest - XP Pro - Unzipping a 20MB file on the desktop take 5/10 minutes with the VM on our GSX Server (IBM x440). The same VM running on my laptop did it in a few seconds. Lookin at the performance of the server its not hitting its discs lots so not a real hardware limit. I've no idea what it could be. The sort of thing I need to spend time 'playing', unfortunatly got lots of work on so don't have the spare time.
  14. yeah I had heard about that. Will be interesting to see performance results against running nativly.
  15. At the moment the machine has been partitioned into 8-way machines running either windows or linux. The machines are used for stress/reliability testing of the middle ware product I work on. It is amazing how many CPU cycles are wasted - We have around 40/50 4/8 way machines in our team a lot of which have been sitting around doing sod all. Just got a couple of blade servers too - quite nice to have 28 2xCPU DualCore 8GB machines. When we are up and running a lot of our machines will be working hard 24/7
  16. I went out last night with the windows open and thought I heard it once but it was inside. Don't think its any louder with the window down. Its never happened when I am just pulling away in a straight line.
  17. Yeah we use the workstation quite a lot. I'm trailing it on one of our bigger servers at the moment to see if its worth the cash. Having a few speed related issues at the moment. I was hoping we could install it on our 32-way 1.2TB RAM machine but I don't think I am going to be allowed
  18. I guess he means the glove box behind the passenger seat. When I am off next week I think I will trip all the panels out and get rid of any bits in compartments and go for a drive and see if I have the noise
  19. So the clicking axle is not a always clicking type thing.
  20. Sorry for dregding but though better than a new thread. Recently I have been starting to hear a strange sound from the rear at low speeds. I often hear it when I pull away of when I am pulling into my street i.e. changing down into 2nd. I also hear if it there is a slight change in acceleration i.e. I go over a hump in the road etc. The noise I am hearing is a 1 off sound i.e. I will hear it once on pulling away and that will be it. I have a feeling its only started since I had all the panels out in the back for sound-deadening but not 100% sure. The sound is a sort of click/clunk. Does this sound like the rear axle thing? Does the clicking happen all the time or is it a single click thing. My car is coming up to the end of the warranty so would need to get it in if it is the rear axle although i suspect its not as it also sounds higher too
  21. As said if you own the car you would not be able to drive it. I also thought you were only able to drive a car 3rd party if there was some insurance on it i.e. someone else had it insures?
  22. Yup - Try a clay bar. If you've never used one before you might be surprised how much crap it will get off from the paintwork.
  23. Would love to hear his 10K audio system
  24. Yeah the bonnet does look really out of place. IMO TO have introduced a bulge gives the impression there is now a real beast in the engine bay i.e. a 350/400bhp monster but no its just a few bhp more
  25. Well all things considered the snow held up quite well. With it being such a high resort we got away with it much better than some of the other local resorts. Not exactly the powder holiday I was hoping for, instead more of a bombing around one but still much fun. Some pics.... The Resort Night Pic of Resort Some playing on the edge of piste Final Day Posses on the Learner Travelator On the final day everyone supprised me with a thanks for organising the trip with a 15 minute session in a 4x4 panda then a little buggy thing on the local ice-track (which some WRC teams have played around on) Panda was an arse to get used to being left hand drive. I could not get my head round the right hand downshift, steering and handbraking at the same time.
