  1. If you are haggling print out the advert from the dealer selling the brand new cars otherwise they will just think your lieing about the cost of a new car.
  2. I wonder how many of Alan Sugars comanies buy UK equiptment/stock/parts - I bet a very small %
  3. Poor deal IMO There are dealers giving away 58 plate brand new cars fully loaded for under £20K As a result of that IMO 1 year old cars should be down below £17K That said it all depends what else is out there.
  4. looks like its flapping its wings with the doors open. IMO Lamdo doors should stay with lamdos unless you completly modify the door so it opens properly like a lamdo door does (i.e. not out at 45 degrees)
  5. I would have thought you should be able to find somewhere to do it for around £250. I was quoted around £200 for it last time my car was in and only £120 extra if i did it at the same time as my bonnet. Regret not having mine done at the same time now. Always let them know its cash/card payment as bodyshops love this over the insurance payout work where they have to wait months to see any money. It helps with cashflow.
  6. If you are thinking cheap then you will have to avoid most of the main euro resorts. This year there are not many last minute deals to be had - we got a weeks catered holiday for <£200 but this year your looking around the £300 mark. That combined with the crap euro means that lift tickets are silly money i.e. our Alpe D'Huez ticket for next week is over £180 The conditions in europe do look good though - haven't had much snow in the last week but there is plenty on the slopes. looks like there might be some coming at the start of the week
  7. What did they do to fix it - did they just re-weld the flanges or did they weld on completely new fixings? Funny enough - mine is just about starting to do this but I managed to pick up a second hand exhaust for £50
  8. Lush Lush wheels. My Personal favorites on a black Z. Wish I could afford them myself but a trip to Whistler takes priority
  9. Take a look @ http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16403 for info on looms etc
  10. Not a fan myself. Think a gloss black might have been better suited
  11. Its not good. Hear a few calls for the Goverment to help out - which i can sympasis with - if they bail out the banks why not the Car market - its probably one of the only big manufacturing business we have left in the country. The fact that Nissan had to cut back on the plant that is the most efficent in europe says it all. I can see most others following suite. If drastic action is not taking I think we are going to see a very very tough year ahead. Nibbling away at the bank of england rate is good but for many its just meaning they are able to pay thier bills and CCs rather than go out an splash the cash.
  12. Pretty sure that picture is just a HDR one - can be done in lightroom or many other apps. Normally done by combining many photos of different exposure but tis possible to create one from a single photo. It can make black cars appear VERY mirror like
  13. Never understood how she could have been declared bankrupt last year yet she owns a £1,000,000 house which she is struggling to pay for ...
  14. Is it me or has he wasted his money - 25mpg? I get around 22/23 and thats doing all urban driving. Second I jump on the motorway its up around 30 so i often avegage around 25mpg without a conversion
  15. Sounds like you would come up quite short on that install. The amount of work that work put into that install (there are pics on that forum) You would be looking much closer to 5-7K at least for an install of that quality.
  16. 1/2) I would not do 7 subs - The budget on the linked install is VERY big - Whats yours? IMO I would go for a single high quality amp & sub. 3) With decent front stage and subs in the back IMO don't waste your money upgrading the rear speakers just disconnect them 4) Door speaker upgrades are a MUST if you are putting in amps/subs if you want a balanced system. Likes of JL 3-ways, Focals etc. 5) Head Unit - I would go for one of the newer Alpine models i.e. W502 or maybe the Kenwoods too. (Avoid Panasonic as they are closing up in the european car audio industry) 6) Handy to do as the stock one is not great. 7) Dynamat does not have great margins so even buying in bulk does not save you that much. Do a search for sound deadening and get reading. Lots of options. 8) Get over to www.talkaudio.co.uk - very knowledgable about whats on offer. As you say you don't know much about installs - no of subs != better. You will often find the best systems out there are the simple but high quality ones. Might be worth getting to a meet to see what sort of sounds you can get.
  17. As said its a service behind so giving it a P3 will get it back. It won't have caused any problems as everything will get replaced that needs it and other wear and tear will be business as usual. Warranty is already finished which is the only thing it 'may' have effected
  18. I doubt any prices are going to be going up this year - they will stay down for quite a while to get those sales up. ...then it will be time for the new models to come out
  19. I agree it is a rip off but they do more than just that - they also make a number of checks, also do stuff like grease all your hinges etc to make sure they don't rust up/start squeaking.
  20. Most bodyshops still used solvent based paints. Can't remember which but its only the primer or colour thats water based i.e. I think they still mostly use a 2k primer
  21. West Way are fairly expensive and also found them very poor at returning calls. I have contacted them 6 times for servicing costs of which 5 was told they would ring back - never got a call. What might they be like once they have my money let along when trying to get it. The one time I did get through i had to double check the price as it was around £70 more expenside than the dealer 10 minutes up the road in Winchester. They just said "Oh yea thats out price and we can't change it" If you are near the South i recommend Sparshats. While they are no longer a Nissan dealer they still do servicing using all nissan parts, using nissan spec sheets and the stamp is as good as a dealer stamp IMO (oh and it was £100 cheaper too for a P2)
  22. Sounds like a good idea. Might be worth giving a giude as to pricing i.e. few stone chips £100 -> Loads back to primer £300
  23. It goes P1-P2-P1-P3-P1....which matches up to 9k -18k-27k-36k or 1yr-2yr-3yr-4yr or a mixture which ever is sooner
  24. In theory its slightly behind the shedule if its has a P1 @ 37K in october as it means the P1 was done over 9K miles if the P3 was on schedule or the P3 was late. That said its only slightly out and would be nothing that worries me. Mine had its P3/27K done slightly late. The only thing this is really going to affect is something like the original warranty but as thats now out the window as long as its been serviced that fine.
