  1. These are VERY good value for money - Focal K2 Powers £200 off - http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/focal/p~ ... html?cat=0
  2. Dude out with the JVC/Pioneer and put a proper unit in like Alpine/Becker
  3. Yup colour makes all the difference. The more popular the colour the less you will get. When i was looking for my black Z there were loads of grey ones on the market for cheaper but no black ones at all. As a result they could sell for slightly more
  4. Been looking around for pics of the show but can't seem to find any. Got any of the other cars competing. Having been in that world for quite a few years its interesting to see how its moved on over the year. Quite wierd to think I'm not there trying to push the boundries etc.
  5. Looks quite good for carbon vinly. Something i have been thinking of doing but with real carbon but just not got round to it ..along with re-doing my audio.
  6. Good to see someone who had the enthusiasm to take it on and perfect it and refinish it instead of the crappy trimming that was left
  7. Looks great - Like the look of that audio install Great to see you've matched up the amps to the subs. Hope Four did you a good deal on them
  8. The signals passed through to the BOSE amp are not suitable for aftermarket amps. The voltages are above line level (Phonos) but less than speaker level. As a result of this you should not use the inputs to feed a replacement amp thus why I recommend running new RCAs to supply the new amp. This will also produce a better sound as you have less conversions going on.
  9. Removing the BOSE amp should have no effect on the steering wheel controls working. When you come to replacing the BOSE amp I would not try and cable up the amp using the existing cables, IMO you are much better removing the sound part of the adapter and running RCA cables from the pioneer head-unit to the amplifier.
  10. Hmm now were are talking. Smooth, none of those silly teeth thing, nice wheels, nice spoiler Pics @ http://www.autoblog.com/photos/new-york ... z/1478849/ tried linking to the pics but they are too big
  11. Will be interesting to see what it ends up like. Couple thoughts.. Would it not have been better to remove the spoiler to paint it? Same with the bonnet as getting a nice smooth edge is always going to be hard with it shut down like that. Also how have you gone handling the shut between the tailgate and roof will just be the factory colours with a nice join line - would be a lot of hastle to go to for the extra smoothness.
  12. The thing is hamilton did not lie he just did not say everything he should have. One of the causes of the problems was the race control tho as Maclaran radioed them to get a response as to whether they needed to give the place back - they never got a respone so decided to give it back just in case, when in fact he did not need to due to trulli going off the track. If a: Maclaren knew the rules they would have been fine OR b: race control replied to them they would have been fine I think the FIA have to be really careful. if they start messing around with the results much more I honestly think people are going to just switch off and not bother
  13. I've used a range of products depending on what its in etc. If weight is not a maasive problem I have used some of the cheaper tar based products to cover the boot floors etc. Anywhere that involves moving bits like windows etc I always use the more expensive products and make sure any metal I attach it to is nice and clean. The last thing you want is tarry stuff going onto the window. As for doing the doors. You will notice a big difference doing it. Try and ge sound round behind the speaker. An easy way to tell if you need doing it give the panel a knock, if you find bits still sounding very tinny you need to try and get to them.
  14. Good to see that Hamilton is back on the same points as the boys in Red the old FIA have got what they wanted. If they are being so anal why have they not punished Barrichello for his cause of the crash on the first corner taking out numerous cars yet they punish Vettel for a much minor incident
  15. I'm sure he still have a normal key to use if all else fails Impressive amount of coding behind it by the sounds of things. Intreeged to know more about the main system board and the fact it can be powered all the time and run ubuntu without killing the battery
  16. I have found that how well the dirt runs off is MUCH more dependant on what you have done before than the snowfoam. Get a really well polished/waxed car and the dirt will just fall off. Get a car that has not had a wax in a while and snowfoam does not really move it much (unless you have the luxury of a 60 degree pressure washer) As has been mentioned. Cleaning a car that has been properly cleaned, clar bared, polished and wax is sooo easy. Can be done in under 20 minutes and you car looks 90% again.
  17. Talk about comprehensive. http://www.geekmyride.org/wiki/index.php/Jon%27s_RX-8
  18. The price was always going to be a bit more. Through the life of the head units they always drop by a chunk and then also this year all the distributeres have put up their prices too so even on older head units the prices have gone up by around 10% normally
  19. The PAC ROAM will work with your unit. It will be used to reduce the speaker level signal to the lower level the BOSE unit expects
  20. very nice - so prefer the newer black over the flat black I have. That said I agree - when clean & polished you can't beat black for looking awesome
  21. I also found that it said there were NO posts with the word "dent" which i find very hard to believe
  22. Just noticed that this change seems to have changed the syntax for posts as my Audio post with all the options is now all over the shop formatting wise. Have tables been removed?
  23. Overall it does look 'flashier' Not sure it actually adds anything to the forum side of things. Recently I have been very concsious of sites which have overhauls which actually make things 'prettier' but often don't actually add any content/function. It would be good to have a list of what new features we have. The forum looks good when viewed through the iPhone - better than i thought it would due to it looking so spaced out on a normal browser. One area which i think is a step back is the way we show "unread posts" previously the category was in its own column. This was great as you could see in the list if there any specific posts in forums you like i.e. I like keeping an eye on the ICE stuff but don't want to go to the ICE section all the time when the unread will give me what we need. Now the cateogory is in a small font making it harder to read. This change is the sort that adds nothing as the space gained from the 1 less coiumn is not actually used as thread titles are never that long.
  24. depends on how good you are with CAD and what machinary & steel you have at hand. If you have the right ones then you could design it in CAD but if your not great at them then just buy them
