  1. But the air has to go through the cotton gause, which will have filter oil on it which will trap the dust/dirt Dont worry Jerry, JWT know what they are doing
  2. Yes you have to do those pleats too Jerry, they are still part of the cotton filter as well
  3. Put oil along all pleats, including those at the front/top. Depending on what oil kit you have, if its the same as the K&N, just spray down the pleats, making sure each one gets some oil. Do not go around and around, only make one pass. Remember that one spray will do multiple pleats. I suggest you do a test spray onto some paper so that you know how wide the spray pattern is If you think you have over oiled it, wash it off and start again. Recharge kit is cheap, MAFs are not
  4. WTF! This country is really going to the shitter when you go to court and win and still have to pay out for it! Thats just not morally right, everyone will end up just accepting their fines etc and coppers will just fine everyone! What a way to pay your way out of a reccession!

Sorry to hear that mate! First dibs if you end up giving it away
  7. I agree with Mark. If you want to keep your seats get a CG lock. I now have Recaro's and I would rate them the same as having OEM seats and a CG lock. Obviously Recaro's dont need the CG lock to stop you moving about
  8. So what are we going to get Husky for xmas
  9. Happy Birthday Lucy! Plenty of cakes should make up for the lack of booze, eating for two is a great excuse
  10. Woah, close one! Glad it was only the dipstick. Be sure to double check the dipstick itself, we have had at least one report of the seals going on them and can cause the same problems as if someone hasnt put it back in properly. Just to be sure this hasnt happened to you
  11. Remember not to mention any of this if you ever come to sell the Zed. No one wants an unlucky car
  12. Bet you wont be going out with him again! Hope he got his geometry set up right before going out too!
  13. TBH I would bite the bullet while you are there. It would be sods law you replace not only the gearbox and clutch, then the flywheel would go, and you end up paying for the labour all over again to get it done! I would stick it on a credit card or something just to save another few hundred quid in labour. If you fancy a trip to Leicester to get it done, I can fully recommend Mitz and Andy of CS. They did my clutch and flywheel and were spot on and far cheaper than Nissan - about a third of the labour cost in the end
  14. I had great fun drifting to work when it snowed. Everyone stuck to the inside lane so gave me 2 lanes to slide down all the way there
  15. Yes I am very lucky, but I pay the price by having to get up about 1.5hrs before I really should need to Was just about to say do it properly and get the Wickes 1000w dual spotlight, but it doesnt seem they do it any more I have the double, basically 2 of those lights linked above, together on one stand. Awesome for lighting and heating my garage! EDIT: No, I was wrong, its Screwfix you want to visit, and get one of these babies http://www.screwfix.com/prods/14558/Lig ... Site-Light

Alex is a bit like a Zed god, all seeing and all knowing Glad you got it sorted matey
  17. Clean it with a K&N recharge kit. Do mine every other service (20k miles) and never had a problem in the 2yrs I've had it. Follow the instructions and dont go mad with the oil. Overoiling only happens for muppets that splash it on way too much
  18. Yup, fun times ahead! Fortunately I get into work early and leave early, so only dark on the way in for a few weeks more. When it gets dark on my way home I know xmas is coming Also means I manage to miss most of the noddy drivers too!
  19. Yes sir, that is how to do it!!!!
  20. I've only ever had mine done once in Basingstoke, and that was at Nissan. No probs what so ever, but they probably arent the cheapest. I dont like the Tyre and MOT places that are dotted about the place (behind B&Q and by the dump on Wade Road), they've done a few things wrong with mine and family members cars, not least doing up my lug nuts at full tension on a air gun which meant I couldnt get my wheel off! So avoid them.
  21. I couldn't agree more! The standard car was mine and it feels great now! I wasn't concerned with what the graphs looked like, for me the importance was how the car felt to drive. It is so much more responsive, I certainly couldn't say I felt like I had anymore power but I feel that I now have immediate access to all the power that was sat there before! The car now accelerates smoothly and responds immediately when you put your foot down. The smoothness alone is something that would make me have this done, especially in first gear, the jerky start in this car has always been one of the slight things that irritated me and now its gone and I couldn't be more pleased with it! Mark - I'm happy for you to post as many graphs as you like to try and demonstrate the work that you've done on the car but I have the proof sat outside and I can confirm its made a real positive difference and I'm very happy with it so a big thank you to everyone at Abbey. Good to hear the feedback Dom! As you say, you cant really tell how the car handles from the graphs, which is why I was after as much info as possible. I will certainly be going to have my car done in the future
