  1. Sorry to see that Al, but should be a pretty simple repair. At least it will get rid of any stone chips you had
  2. So who's up for the next one tomorrow night? Me and Ben will be there, weather looks like it should be ok. Should be there about 7.15pm

Dont use those ones, the angle of the LED is all wrong and you wont pass the MOT. As the LEDs face straight out, the angle of them in the housing will point them out to the side of the car, not out the back. You need the ones JPWarden sells as these are all around the "bulb" so light up the reflector and bounce the light out the back. Go look at your car and see which way the bulb is pointing, you'll see what I mean. Beleive me, I've been there the ones posted above by JPWarden are the best. I have had loads of bulbs off him and these are regarded as the ones to have
  4. From what I remember Tere posting (very knowledgable member from the States for those of you that dont know her), she said that the shift should be spot on (as is with the B+M if set up right). So while I agree "some" cars might not like it, the Zed can be set up properly if using quality kit. Thats why I said either its not fitted right or its not quality kit, I didnt state which

Front and rear indicators, reverse and fog are T20. I think the others are correct, but someone else will confirm Rear fog can be had off eBay in the form of an LED lamp which would mean if you remove the red tint or get a clear cluster it would all be silver/chrome. Do a search for "fog", it should turn up the links
  6. Yes there was a For Sale sign in it at the meet. Thought I reckognised it when I saw the PH ad. If the owner is on here they are more than free to explain what happened, but the sceptic in me says that if they are not selling it on here (havent checked - so this is IMO) then something isnt 100% right as why if you are a memeber here, wouldnt you sell where you have direct access to your market?
  7. As the others have said, the notchiness from what I've read is either its not adjusted properly or its just a poor piece of kit (not alluding to which btw ). As ersen says, watch it or it will kill the sycros. I remember a write up on Zchicks I think which said about adjusting it properly, which needs it to be up on stands as its done from below. Might have been Tere that posted it. I believe the reverse issue is usually down to the gate not being alligned properly, so if you have that issue, just whip the trim off and adjust it properly from in the car.
  8. Very nice I passed one on the way home the other day, was in yellow with a black diffuser, looked very cool, although the owner was driving at as if they had just bought it as it was raining and they were doing 50MPH on a dual carridgeway.
  9. I do more than that every week If you were paying for your fuel you wouldn't I do pay my fuel now that I work for myself but I wouldnt trade it for anything else. I get 30MPG on the way to work, and my Leon only used to get about 35MPG, so well worth it for when you get a clear stretch and can belt it one
  10. Bah, lightweights, I'm on 74k now Get out and drive all you girlies, its what the cars for! +1. Also like in alot of cars the higher the mileage the faster they will get as the engine will be loosened up. Me and AdrianK have a suspiscion that the Zed just gets better with miles on it. Consistenly at SRR we saw the daily drivers hit better figures on the dynos than those that use their cars as toys.
  11. Get over it you big girl and drive it more. I'm on over 80k now! Time for a 370z soon I reckon
  12. The only problem with that is because each gearbox is individually made it will only work with the engine and transmission it was originally mated to. Not strictly true. The reason they are "mated" is because the ECU for the engine only speaks to the ECU for the gearbox that is supposed to be there. There were some rumours that the gearbox was tuned to a specific engine, but I think that was proven to be BS. When Big Phil got his they were looking at options and he knew people that were working on cracking the ECUs of both engine and gearbox, so by now I would expect someone like COBB know exactly how to mate a new gearbox to a different engine if it went pop
  13. There are weight sensors in some of the newer models, but I forget which and why they are there. If you search around on my350z.com for the "seat resistor mod" used to trick the car into thinking the airbag is there when it isnt when replacing seats, some of the newer cars have a bladder which is pressure sensative which has to be wrapped up and squeezed also to make the car think everything is ok when bucket seats are fitted. Dont think that applies to Andy's car as its a bit older. From the wiring diagram, it certainly doent look like they are pressure sensative in the model we are talking about, and as with Vik, I have had things on an empty passenger seat that have heated up before
  14. not when you got over 40gb of work stuff on it Should have had seperate partitions to save stuff to, then you can just format the Windows drive and start again I have never been able to upgrade sucessfully to a new version of Windows, something always goes wrong or doesnt quite work right meaning the shiney new version doesnt run as quick as its meant to. Always meaning I end up doing a clean install again
  15. Clean installs are the way forward, takes me about 40 mins to install mine from clean Its just about the same as Vista just quicker and generally a bit swisher
  16. Dont diss Slough til you've tried it I think I would prefer doing this job than sitting behind my desk in Slough where it is currently shitty and dark! I can only console myself in that I am now inderpendant and getting more of my day rate than when through my last company Good luck with the recovery, hope the damage is more superficial than structural.
  17. It has an element in the seat that heats up. One covers the seat pan and another smaller one does the lower back. Check out the seat section in the Service Manual (download around here somewhere) and it shows how to dismantle the seats and where the elements are. I dont know if there is a weight sensor in the seat to tell it if someone is on it? My guessing is that by sitting on it you flatten the foam and the heat comes through quicker. With no weight on it, it might not come through enough before the thermostat turns it off as the element is too hot I wouldnt expect it to need to be perforated, but it will help get the heat through a bit quicker
  18. All the best with the sale. Moved to 350z for sale section
  19. May I suggest that you host the sigs on Photobucket or include the numbers as text in your actual sig (ie not in the image) Photobucket will likely have a much higher fail over capability than your hosting Also techies never have common sense, otherwise they would be contractors earning at least 10x as much. You wouldnt want to hire me on your help desk for example, as I cost about 10x as much as the offshore equivalent. So instead you are left with numbnutts that know sod all
