  1. I'm off down to Abbey tomorrow with that idea
  2. Thats what I used to do when I worked for DWP. Just pop it in the window and everyone is happy For my last job, I was on client site so much, when I visited my so called "base office", I didnt bother with my pass as if I parked as a visitor I got a space right outside the front of the office and the spaces were bigger
  3. You need those bits of Dyson hoovers that make the "cyclone"
  4. surprised at that one, your normally full of opinions, just got off a long shift? and actually i'm the teacher with an engineering degree The missus has some handbags you chaps can borrow if you need them
  5. Now I would love to see the Brits take it to the Germans if that happened
  6. Very helpful comment. Well Adam@Z1 sells them so it might be worth asking him. Aye, but Adams has a real purpose - unlike most of the others out there http://z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model=35 ... rodid=2413 Hope he doesnt mind me nabbing the piccy
  7. I suspect the answer is, if nobody is running one, they do so all!
  8. Good to see this making progress Mart
  9. Speak to a dealer nicely and if they think you are genuine, theres no reason they cant do a weekend test drive. They are notoriously hard to get though
  10. When you work in that environment for a long time its amazing what you will try for fun
  11. We noticed at Silverstone last year that there wasnt any consitency between the year and tow hook size really. Some unlucky lad even had a different size front to rear
  12. Perfect Cant see that worked too well on the harness holes though I imagine. The SLR Zoom is certainly beefier than the SLR, something like a 3KG load rather than 0.8KG
  13. Oooh that would be ideal How new is it? Not too bothered how old it is so long as the leg sections are still pretty tight and not battered
  14. If they were doing the work officially I would expect so. If they were doing a mate a favour, its a grey area. We have plenty of people here who browse eBay regularly, they are bound to show up on a forum or eBay unless they were nicked to order
  15. Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom Bought this in error (wanted the Gorillapod SLR), so am offering this up to members for a great deal on a brand new bit of kit as I can post it to people in the UK cheaper than I can send it back to 7dayshop who are offshore. Just arrived today and in box, purely bought it in error so as new. NOTE: Doesnt come with the ballhead pictured, you need to either attach it straight to the camera, use your own ballhead or buy the Joby one. Looking for £30 delivered. It was £36+del for me. Paypal is easiest for me. Will go on eBay if no interest. Please post dibs in here first and follow up with a PM
  16. Sorry I totally disagree with this, except for the speaker wire bit. For digital signals, especially for short runs, the signal will either be good or it wont. Its all sent as 1's and 0's, you cant get a half or anything stupid like that, so the signal is either good or not, no in between. As long as the wires are reasonable and shielded from interferance, you will notice no difference between a £5 cable and a £50 cable - but I agree a 99p cable might be shoddy and never give any signal. The signal is either intact or it is not. Now for longer runs or areas where you can get a lot of RFI that may not be the case but for 9 of 10 setups where you are running only 1-2m of cable you wont notice any difference. You will see a far greater difference having your TV profiled properly so that colours show up as their true colour Speaker cables on the other hand are well worth spending a bit of cash on if you have it. As the signal is analogue, over much longer runs and open to more interferance you will notice the difference with better cables.
  17. Saying that I'm sure F1 cars have a special coating to make them more slippery and it really does make them quicker! When you are talking hundreths or thousanths of a second, everything counts.
  18. just buy the cables online, for the price of the cheapest one in the shop you'll get a nice one Yeah I didnt mean buy them in the shop, online is the way to go
  19. Jay, just get a professional in to do it all. Will be more than £700 but they can show you how it all works when they are done and you will be more than happy. I know you can afford it Alternatively head down to a proper audio store and seek advise there. There are so many options that you need to be there with someone to hear them and look at the kit. I run a modest Onkyo 506 and Kef "egg" speakers. More than enough for me, and cost around your price braket. For you I would suggest something like the Onkyo 607 or Denon 1910, both have 4+ HDMI inputs. For speakers, I dont really know what the current good ones are for about £250-300. AVforums would be a good place to start as you will find a lot of threads from people in a similar situation to you Oh and get the cheapest HDMI leads you can from somewhere reputable. My mum got a new TV with BD player and they tried to sell her £60 cable for it. I got her one for £3 which works just as well! With HDMI being digital, unless the distances are massive, the cable will either work or it wont, so just buy the cheapest
  20. Maybe try torquing up the wheels again, do them in 3 stages and star pattern. I've found my Zed very sensative to having the wheels torqued up properly and progressively. Also wheel balancing may help. Make sure you get a place that does proper balancing. I had mine done once and mentioned it to my wheel place and they did them again. They said they were ok in one direction, but dynamic balance was off They said poorer tyre fitters cant check that and can make the wheel wobble.
  21. I think Hamilton will always be the favorite in the garage unfortuantely as hes grown up with the team in one form or another and has a few years there under his belt. I hope Jenson doesnt get in a strop about it, but saying that they seem good mates. Hope it works for the both of them
  22. Reduces rotating mass and therefor will reduce the power required by the engine to spin them. This means you might get a bit more power to the wheels, but mostly it makes the engine more responsive. We are talking tiny differences here though.
