  1. You have an utter cowboy there and he his messing with your life if you are saying you have to press the peddle twice :scare: and yes you have been bullshited big time The squeaking rear pads are probably to do with the fact that either the shims on the back of the pads were not put back and/or were not copper greased. That in iteself is not such a big problem and in fact is a relatively common one. But it is the work to the brakes on one side at the front only and the fact you have to press the peddle twice to get them to work that is alarming.
  2. Can anyone recommend a good independent close to London W9? There are a few south of London we (Surrey) types know of but I am struggling to help in your neck of the woods. TGM at Fleet would be good, but quite a trek and if you need parts when they take a look it might mean leaving the car for parts.
  3. You need to get your car looked at by a good independent smartish - if you flag up where you are located members can point you to someone suitable. For a guy to agree that changing just one corner is OK immediately sounds a warning. Please don't use the car in anger until you have had your brakes thoroughy checked
  4. Far too many Nissan dealers for starters - if a ZED is going to traded in for another car at some point that garage will almost certainly be asking the local Nissan dealer for the trade-in price and if they see/hear the service book does not have Nissan dealer stamps I know from experience that will affect the price. Also. while we know the good independents, non forum types will not know about Abbey ^^^ (as an example) and use that (or any other excuse) to drive down the trade-in price. So I agree with that's what I did and will do and is it turned out the Nissan HPC where I had my third service done just before the warranty expired agreed with me the gearbox was not right and Nissan agreed a new replacement box, so no hassles of otherwise having to go from an Indy to a Nissan dealer for the gearbox warranty claim.
  5. You ought to go home via Bala on the B4391 - cracking driving road and then north onto the A483/A5 then as you approach Chirk (and just south of Moreton where the Wales weekend is based), there is a Shell station with V-power
  6. Have you grey guys set your theme to UY - that might show the colours for you. Otherwise get a decent phone! No issues on the colours with the S3 and it works fine without add-ons like tappattytap
  7. Best you know beforehand then - my uprev was by Abbey Motorsport, but thee are a couple of others - if you do a search int the Traders section that will identfy who might be nearest to you Oh, forgot to add that the exhaust and uprev added a few extra bhp as well as improving the economy
  8. For the sake of a few extra pence go for V-Power or Momemtum - and it is better for engine longevity. My uprev is principally tuned for 99, but it can be switched for 95 given that there have been occasions in Scotland where 98+ is sometimes difficult to find.
  9. Way too new for me, now let me see if I can turn that winder Sorry Darren
  10. Don't wear them out before the Wales weekend
  11. I've had an uprev done (370's are notorious for running too rich from the factory) and that has shown I get around 32mpg on long runs around the usual motorway speeds that won't get you into trouble. That is using the cruise and usual procedure of anticipating traffic conditions ahead to minimise additional throttle or brake use. I only say that as you see so many buffoons on the motorways whose brake lights are forever coming on because they are either driving too close to what is in front and/or they are simply looking at the tail of the vehicle in front. Trouble with the 370 is that once you have put a 'proper' exhaust system on and if like me you leave the syncro rev on there is too much temptation to enjoy those two making the 370 drive something very special. Never had any regrets about my colour choice well over 3 years ago now

  17. They shouldn't be driving Z's. lol The worrying thing is at Wales last year I was following a couple of OAP's they don't hang about but then I guess they are closer to the Pearly Gates than most if us anyway BB
