    My Nismo Azure

    Very impressive shots there.
  2. Well done on you and well done by the dealer. Unusual behaviour and great to see. Name the dealer as it seems they deserve more business if they are helpful.
  3. Not looking much like it is happening but F1 is a strange world indeed. I think the man is a motoring god.
  4. May be true but early days....... Ron Dennis has forcibly relinquished his role as team principal of McLaren, and will be replaced by deputy Martin Whitmarsh, a Spanish newspaper claims. The national sports daily Marca says the decision, compelled by the British team’s engine and equity partner Mercedes-Benz, will shortly be confirmed by means of a press release. Marca said Mercedes, the German manufacturer that is tipped to shortly take over the entire Woking based team, was angered by Dennis’ mishandling of the espionage scandal last year that cost the outfit a lot of money and arguably both 2007 titles. Dennis, who has overseen McLaren’s ultra-successful reign since the early 1980s, could be given a new position but will not be in a crucial decision-making role, Marca added. Dennis still owns 15 per cent of McLaren, with the rest of the equity divided between Mercedes, a Bahraini company, and Mansour Ojjeh. http://forums.itv.com/667383/ShowThread.aspx
  5. 1. Yeap 2. Long story but better just left. 3. Illusions of grandeur but its their place so up to them. 4. No, no longer jap owner but gone german. You going to be a Judge at JAE again. 5. When you on, was a great show at Newbury and can recommend the video too.....Not to sure about the radio show as can only get it when return from france. Welcome back whats new with your car. PS Do not tell them about being down in Brighton as the Gay-o-meter might get mentioned.
  6. Couple of good ring video's http://carfreaks.net/content/?cat=8 The M5 one shows you the speeds involved. The M3 following the M coupe shows you lines etc. (better quality) Worth a viewing if you intend to go. And to show unbiased nice shots of a Zed http://carfreaks.net/content/?p=88 one of his best IMHO http://carfreaks.net/photos/novemberdaw ... 4.jpg.html
  7. Strange as never heard of that before. Very odd to remove just to get some extra space back in the chubby. Still speak to Mr F at MJP and see if he can get you the part this adapter plugs into. IF not would be dealer or scrap car to get the bit from, there are a few scrap ones now.
  8. Bluetooth is just a plug-in adapter. You do not move ANY cabling, Mic or otherwise. Speak to MJP to get good price on one. his shop http://www.mjpshop.co.uk/product_info.php?id=38&pid=257 have a look at this thread for links to the install PDF http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8312
  9. Well done Rob, the place was getting dominated by those northern monkeys.
  10. Not sure where the engine has come from but did do a days training with Andy Walsh and the other car was the RST-V8 which was two bike engines bolted together. Only had 380 BHP and was awsesome in the right hands. It has to have extra extensions on the SV model just to make it wide enough to ensure it could take tyres that could handle the power. This baby with 500BHP is just something else. The normal frame was a considered a bit iffy with over 300bHP and was rumoured to be getting twisted with the torque.
  11. on any circuit other than ovals. Just the price is CRAZY CRAZY and hence do not know if they will sell any. http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=17661 But I can dream.
  12. This is happen on many german cars today. I quite like my DRL angel eyes on my 5, and the line of LED's on the R8 and A/S5 are okay too. Not got round to switching mine off as cannot be ar5ed and do not think it is a real problem to other driver, unlike the ar5es that drive around in bright sun light with fog lights on. Just hope that Nissan create something a bit different to a dim little orange bulb.
  13. GC350z I do not want to start a flame war and as this is a free club and people can say what they want within reason, so your entitled to your opinion and this place is better for it. But do you need to strip every comment I make "quote them" and attack each one as I could do the same with yours but do not feel the need so will not bother, it will not added any value. I may be not be understanding what you are saying but I think you are not understanding where I am coming from. Just want to say, I believe the import route will likely lead to saving of £20,000+ NMGB will try to scaremonger everyone with trying to stop imports, (this is clearly happening as Ben has the first one and there is a black one about too) You can get it services as Ben has done so therefore not an issue. Buying UK model may have many hidden costs, ie, the "Post" Track day inspection. (which if it finds damage does not mean it will cover for the replacement parts its just a TAX imposed by NMGB) to ensure that they do not incur cost they do not want and they will charge you £1000 for the privilege. If the servicing is not included in the UK cost then that is an outrage….my estimates of 20k up front saving and 6k track tax will also go up again by another £1k a year for servicing. Man this is all adding up. Hate to think if they are also going to restrict things like tyre replacements to “only at HPCâ€
  14. Bobby If you hear anything about post track inspection can you please please post as soon as you get the info as that would make it impossible for me to buy a UK model. Take your point on pricing is more than just list price. My bimmer is 47k list so know things go up in price and GTR will be different to Zed, but I am half way in price terms already. Do you also know if we can get parts from the US cheaper than JPN. Given the exchange rates I think it would be cheaper that way and given the number that ship in the US, they may hold more stock items than UK dealer will. Geneva needs a good write up from those going as there will be lots of questions coming your way.
  15. GC350z, Do you have it confirmed about the speed limit removal from EU cars, if not then suggest you reserve your comment until you do hear as in your words "BS speculation" as you infer in my post. Do you think everyone on a track drives like a "muppet" perhaps you should get to more track days as I have seen better driving on track days than on the road many times. As for Nissan warrenty work on tracked cars, was there not 150ish Zeds on a silverstone track recently. Yes it was not a track day but they where driven on a track. Are they all now NOT covered by NMGB warranty. Plus there are lots of people that get warranty work done after track days, just not declared that it has happened. When I got warrenty work done on my zed NOT once did I get asked if it had been on a track or at the ring. I would have been honest if was asked as there is pics to prove I have been on track so no point lying, JUST dealer does not ask so I do not haver to offer info. Why should he, but the GTR is different and more likely to be a tracked car as its high performance model. as for servicing in Japan, do not care if it is or it is not included. The car I would be buying will be serviced and makes no difference if it is paid for by NM Japan or previous owner. Do not think you have added anything but thats my opinion. I just want to ensure people are aware of the pro and cons before stumping up for a deposit on a UK model then finding out they could have save well over £20,000 by importing and possibly getting the car quicker.
  16. Did Japfest 2 years ago with ZClub. Suzy and the team over there are great people and I can recommend it. Nice to see other Zed Cars at same time. Not in a jap car at the moment so not going but everyone else should get it booked.
  17. I am not looking at buying new from Japan, I have always said 1 year model in 1 years. That way I can get a 30-40k car and its UK equv is 60k from a dealer. Also hope that most of the warrenty work that would need doing is done in the first year by JDM owner. The likelihoods is that when I import it will be delimited as wel, so I get a better car (quicker) than a UK buyer gets. Would be funny if you are doing a ring trip in a 350Zed and overtake a GTR that is still limited to 118mph. As on other thread and info from GTR forum UK buyer could be looking at £1k post track day inspection. That would mean I would have a 6k bill each year, say 4-5 track days and 1 ring trip each year. Will not be spending 6k on servicing so the JDM import is cheaper in first place and would be cheaper to run on annual basis so no brainer to me. Then if I sell after a year then would still get decent price as UK model only out for 12 months. And hope I can drive a 180mph car at 4 sec 0-62 for £5k. I lost more than that on the zed. As for resell and badges, think that is very true as people with 80k are worried about what the neighbours and work peers think so that will limit the market. There are 5-6 porkers at my work and I doubt one of them would buy a GTR just because of the Nissan badge. But people like me who do not care will be limited to the likes of a 350z which is a 30k motor.
  18. Yeap Ben from GTR OC and GTC http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/membe ... y-gtc.html Do you know if he has the limiter removed and if he has registered it in UK. Also will he let us know the "all in" costs. I know it was complicated and went thru Cyprus or something but would be good to know. Just not a member on GTR so cannot post the questions.

    GT-R

Just read about the $1000 post track day inspection required if you take the car on "approved" track and want to keep your warrenty. So this is back door way that NMGB/NMWW will get another £5-10k per year from people after they have charged them £60k for the car. Cannot afford to go down that route so import now looking a must if I am to have one. Seems a diesel BMW 5 series estate will be overtaking a GTR after it hits 118 on the road. 172 mph BMW 3 ltr diesel @ http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/videos/fea ... eaker.html
  20. Autotuner at brands 10th Aug. http://www.autotuner.co.uk/ As for limiter, does anyone know Ben and can ask what he has had it up to. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/92275 ... -cafe.html Is that a question or a statement? To which event are you refering?
  21. Think it could have been much better. Nice to see it being driven much more on the limit compared to the autocar review. Plato is a great driver, just seems strange they did not get to test against something else. So much for NMGB stopping people importing and it being speed limited, load of balls as we can now see. PS seems some dealers are taking deposits as NMGB have now decied who gets to sell them. Phone your local and see if they will take a booking, or import and save 10-20k as 5th gear now putting a £60k price on it. mugwump You driving at brands......sorry for off topic.
  22. Are we getting a list together for this. Would be good to see the drifting Zed and even better if we can get track time.

    MiRo wheels

Same thing with rays and copies for the zed. But these get good write ups in the states, but not common here so just want to see if anyone had different wheels from same manufacture. As for originals, likely to be 2-3k more which is a lot of money and the touring is not really a sports car so slightly heavier wheels will not make much difference.
