  1. famersti have a read of http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127993 Its a post about a bmw dealer on ebay pulling out of a deal, BUT the point is if you get lots of support by the masses of the internet you do get there in the end. Everyone else its a long thread so not worth reading every post but chap wins ebay auction for M3 at $60k which is below the buy price for the dealer. Instead of honouring the deal the stealer has created untold damage to their reputation and now have given in and selling him the car as it hundreds of sites. Might be worth setting up similar thread to help Famersti get what he deserves.

Sarnie, Was that NMGB that told how they distribute or the relevant dealer. Either way I would prefer to be 3rd on a list of 10 compared to 40th on a list of 50. If there is really only 400, then say they ship 50 out day one, cannot see Middlehurst getting the first 25 as the other dealer will be up in arms if they can only supply the first or second on their list in the first six months. I would say they would have to give all the dealers at least 10-20 each to ensure the setup costs to become a dealer just would not be worth it. Presuming the dealer is only going to make £5k them he needs a few to make it worthwhile otherwise they would make more money just selling Zeds more frequently. No harm phoning around.

Mike, what I mean is how techies at each of the 8 dealers, and how many of those will have dedicated GTR training. Cannot see them shipping too many people over to japan if that is what is needed. Still to me, all salesmen are just selling the same thing and are NOT likely to offer anything to differentiate from another salesman. But the techie doing the spannering is a different matter. Shop around for buying power but get the best to look after it.

Disgy The thing is buy from where you get it earliest but you can get it serviced-looked after by any approved dealer. So if you want it quicker phone around, but if you want it serviced by Middlehurst then take it there afterwards as cannot see them turning business away. Also how many have done training on the new GTR, would be good to know.

I would think all the dealers get equal dibs on the number of GTR's they get. Therefore I would phone round all 8 dealers and see who has smallest list, then order with them. The car will be the same, the price will be the same (do not see anyone discounting more than others) therefore the variable will be where you are on the list and the sooner you get the car. Power to the consumer.
  6. Well seems another dead GT-R What a waste of a great car. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/24/anot ... -the-dust/
  7. Go down to citizens advice and see if they could help. If some still get now where, then send them a letter explaining that you intend to write to all trade press and explain how the offer to fix was adjusted in discount rate many times and then offered for free, but finally offer removed. Could be embarassing if they are still making big stories about selling £55k GTR cars and buyers will be dealing with the same NMGB people as you are with your Zed problem. I am sure small claims court could be another way to get up to £3000. Its fixed price for you. Just be certain that NMGB now have comments on their database which will make further valid claims more difficult to process even if you take no action. Best to show them you mean business.
  8. Hopefully get 10 people to donate £2 each, club then get £20 Since there are 49 balls in the lottery, then you would get balls 1-5, the next person gets 6-10 etc. Then when the lottery gets drawn next Wednesday the first ball out if its 2 then you win as you have 1-5 If no-ones else donates then you get balls 1-49 and you win no matter what. Then you just mail me your address and tell me which day you want and I post you the tickets, job done. You enjoy yourself and the club get a little bit of money= win-win
  9. Sorry, Draw next wednesday to give people a chance. But since you where first post, if the practice or qually tickets is not used then you can have either of those free.
  10. Since I am not into bikes looking at raising some extra funds for the club I would like to raffle off tickets for Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands in April https://tickets.motorsportvision.co.uk/ ... uctID=3556 Looking at anyone wanting a chance to win 2 BOX tickets to any day of the racing. Includes 2 entrance tickets, use of box all day, parking area for 1 car and the great company of some Lotus drivers (I share a box with people from LoT). If there is a demand for food by the people that use the box then would be max of £10 per head. Since tickets are min of £22 each and that does not include box or special parking area looking at a donation of £2 using the "make a donation" button on this site. Then on Wednesday lottery the first ball out numbers will be the person that donated (just put your name in this thread if you donate). If only want person donates then he gets tickets, if 3 people donate then will divide the lottery balls in 3 and the first person get the first 20 numbers, second person gets next 20 etc.... This way its total independent on who wins. I will not get any money from this and if you do not want to enter do not. May do the same for World Championship in Aug. If anyone wants tickets for this week Derby Phoenix meet, then let me know as have tickets and parking area, but we are not opening the box so just tickets. These are free to first to ask.
  11. you need stickers as they cannot be adjusted......
  12. Brian James trailers are great but can be expensive. I have Woodford as they do a really small one for the caterham and cannot even fit a elise on it. Go 4 or 6 wheels with that weight, probably have to be at least 4 but you can get low load 6 wheels. Make sure it has a winch as you will not be pushing a zed on to it. New rules mean you cannot have 20ltr petrol cans (storage issues) so do NOT buy them. Some petrol stations stop you filling them up. Most trailer have storage area but are based on 20ltr cans. Strongly suggest you do not leave a trailer in a driveway. They get stolen to order as really easy to nick. A covered BJ trailer will be worth 3-4k on the open market.
  13. what happens if you get a pre 2001 car (GTR) and shove a big dirty 400bhpp engine in it .
  14. Chris I know you want the zed but so many other options out there. As you have just found out towing will be a challenge. The trailer will be quite large therefore you will need a big garage also. If petrol prices are going to effect you, then just watch you may get less than 20mph when towing. I get 18mph when towing a 525kg car on a 300kg trailer and nothing with 4 wheels will weight less. With you having to tow twice as much you will be in for a shock, will definitely need an oil burner and likely 4x4. With the road taxes you should look at a pre 2001 L/R or R/R How close are the tracks you want to use. The zed weight will always be a challenge for track work even if you strip lots out. Book a day out with a caterham or atom and see the difference.
  15. Used mine everyday and did 51k in 3 years.
  16. Or you could drive a straight 6, 3ltr with 272BHP and it ONLY £185 Only 0.6 sec slower than my old Zed too. But is a bit of a barge......
  17. On channel 5 comedy best program right now, only passing comments on others but it is him......
  18. stanski My french place is 35 miles from Calais so what info you after..... PS for those planning on a trip to France they have introduced new law that says anymore than 2 cars in a convoy is illegal. Do not know if they are enforcing it but the french drivers were worried about it.
  19. Should be Bernie going and not Ron, but thats the way it is in life. Used to visit STK before McLaren moved. Was very impressive as you could see all the silverware from the main road.

Wonder how much of the pricing was down to the possible imports due to the year wait. Well all I can say is I am impressed that it has not been a massive rip off and time will tell if the import is the way to go or not. If they hold the pricing in JDM then may have to be a UK model after all.
  21. Kev Is there anymore in it than my thread. At least it is british press this time.
  22. As mugwump says..... but machine not mine, will be a few good ones this year including bath fully functioning tub with working shower on wheels. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RQmlHx8gSYM Well worth going to the 23rd March as lots of racing and then fun event at end of day. The reason I asked about the biker down south is a few of us clubbed together to get another box at Brands so now have free entrance and VIP parking to all Brands events. However not really in to bikes so may let others use it. (more into LoTRDC, BTCC,WTCC, DTM and A1GP)
  23. Anyone into bikes that lives down south.
  24. The yanks just try to go one up http://www.beer.com/beer.com-Content_C-section_vbs.html
  25. Can you not use people like MoneyCorp to fix the rates, that way you know what price you will be paying in yen. Used them when buying french house as the rate they get is usually better than using a high street bank.
