  1. Thanks for the advice. The car is second hand, was sold with extended nissan warranty with 27,000 miles, so yes the work was covered apart from the clutch, however thats not the point. All the money I have spent on taxis to and from the garage, and my job requires traveling to clients which has been a complete pain as the dealer said every time that there is a 2 week waiting list for a courtesey car. I have taken out a warranty with warranty direct as nissan were asking £700 for their one. I just feel I shouldn't have this many problems and most of the time I'm up and down the M4 so it only occasionally gets a thrashing so wear and tear should be at a minimum. To Carl who suggested consumer direct, whatdo think my options are then? Would a swap for similar age/milage be reasonable to ask do you think? Cheers again.
  2. Hi guys, I was wondering if anybody here could offer me some advice. Since purchaseing my 350z in September 2007 the following have gone wrong to date: - oxygen sensors - new clutch (two months after purchasing the 350 from a dealer!) - boot struts - Bose Stereo (was out of my car for 6 weeks with no temporary replacement) and - steering rack I know from research done prior to buying the car that 350z's were pretty much problem free, however I have had problem after problem! I'm tempted to ask the nissan dealer to swap it for another 350z of equivalent value. I shouldn't have this many things go wrong in less than a year. Anyway, nissan box have put a brand new steering rack in the car (£1100 including labour rates) but the vibrations on full lock are still there. The guy at the dealer said they did the same with another 350z on the court yard and said it had the same vibrations, its the case with all 350z's he told me. Is this the case with everybody else? Any help on the whole situation would be really useful. Thanks in advance.
  3. Cheers guys, the dealer was Platinum Nissan, Box, near Bath.
  4. Hi again guys, Just thought I would let you know after having a whinge to nissan they said if I bring it in to them they would replace the clutch and cover all labour charges but I would have to pay for parts. Picking the Z up tomorrow with its new clutch! After what you guys had said i thought i was fighting a lost cause but fairplay to nissan Bath. Only downside is I have been getting about today in a nissan Note, 57mpg though! haha! Thanks for help with this issue.
  5. Hi everybody, Wondering if you guys could give me your views on my problem. Bought 350z from nissan, Bath. It is a 2003 model which had 27000 miles on clock and literally just had its P3 service. After 28500 the clutch started slipping and has gradually got worse. It is still under warranty until August. What I would like to know is, do you think I have a case if I ask nissan Bath to pay for this clutch replacement (due next week) as they sold me the car which under some legality it was not fit for purpose? It seems unfair for me to fork out for this as I have only covered 1500 miles and so soon after a major service. Any opinions/advice would be useful. Thanks in advance.
  6. From Cardiff Ian. Where abouts you from? You know where I could get Rays from? Might need to wait a bit, spent all my £ on the motor!
  7. That Wales run suits me. A470 is it? I agree nixy they are acceptable, for now!
  8. Thanks guys! The wheels are not a major concern of mine, just want to pick it up now but this week is dragging already! It is having its P3 (27k) this week so should be ready to roll on Saturday. No can do on Sunday sorry. Im in the South Wales area if theres anything coming up?
  9. Hi again everybody, Just like to thank everybody for their help on my last post. Bought my new 350z last weekend and getting delivery saturday morning Got the colour, interior and spec i wanted but didn't get my rays! Just wondering what would be the easiest way to get rays instead of my standard alloys, and also how much would they cost? Post pics when i get it next weekend. Thanks in advance New 350z owner
  10. Hi all, Been flicking through some topics but thought I would start my own so you guys can give your opinion on my situation. I have been looking at 350z's for a while now, even test drove one last week , but I have finally got the funds to actually purchase one and I have suddenly realised its not as straight forward as I first thought. I have £17000 to spend, tops and the 350z of choice would be a GT 2004 as I think any problems from the first 03 batch would have been resolved for the 04 cars. What I noticed while searching on autotrader/ebay is that the going rate is nearly 18k where as parkers and wisebuyer value them at 16.5k. Am I being too optemistic in hoping I can pick up a good condition 350z GT 04 for 17k (preferably gun metal grey with rays)? Any tips or advice on where else to look and what to look for or anything else relating would be most welcome. Thanks in advance, Kinch180
