  1. THE CAR IS NOW SOLD. I'm extremely pleased that the first genuine enquiry resulted in a viewing and sale. I was on the brink of deciding to keep the car for another couple of years as I'm only going to buy another toy and if I hadn't been out of the country this past week with work I would have removed the ad. I was sick of people calling me up asking 100 questions then asking if I'd take £11k...... I think the buyer will be joining the forum and the car will stay in the community thankfully. I love that car so I'll be back to check up on it! Onwards... trackday car suggestions anyone? Criteria: Lightweight, rear wheel drive, ~200bhp/tonne, not going to cost the earth in brakes and tyres or repairs should I drop it in the kitty litter. I have another car to be sensible in so currently top of the list is a Caterham Roadsport.
  2. Good point - Eibach springs. Forgot about that I've had quite a few interested people call me up since I've revised the price, but everyone keeps changing their minds on when they want to see it! At this rate I'll still have it in a few months, although that may not be a bad thing as I went out for a drive with a few friends at the weekend to try their cars to guide me on what next to buy. The drive home in the Zed was still great fun!
  3. Y'know if you'd asked me that about a month ago before we bought my missus her car then I might have said yes! £5k and an A3? Full tank of fuel?
  4. Y'know if you'd asked me that about a month ago before we bought my missus her car then I might have said yes!
  5. PM me an offer if you like. I would accept a bit less than the ad.
  6. Thanks guys. Anyone that sees the car will hopefully agree that it is in good condition for it's age and mileage and they appreciate the benefit of the 'sensible extras' over a non-Nismo car. The interesting thing is, the longer the ad stays live and the more people I talk to about it in salesman mode - the more I want to just keep it!
  7. When you go to a place to have your geo done they should have all the settings in the machine, but just in case: 350z, 18" wheel (better systems automatically compensate for different wheel sizes by taking measurements when rolling the car back and forth). Rear Axle Camber -1°35' ± 0°30' Toe 0°05' ± 0°02' Total toe 0°09' ± 0°04' Setback 0°00' Geometrical driving axis 0°00' Axle offset 0°00' Front Axle Camber -0°35' ± 0°45' Caster 8°10' ± 0°45' SAI 5°05' ± 0°45' Toe 0°02' ± 0°02' Total toe 0°05' ± 0°05' I've been told by lots of people in the past that it's best to go to a place that uses Hunter alignment systems. They can be found on http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/.
  8. Thanks everyone, I'll be very sad to see the car go But Hopefully bigger and better things await (still haven't decided what will replace the Zed). I'd love to see it go to another forum member, the car has never missed a beat over the last ~30k miles that I've done in it and I'm sure that will continue!

Any inspection welcome, I can provide the RAC inspection info from when I had the car inspected before I bought it. I am a bit reluctant to sell my pride and joy, but it's a crime for me to keep driving it to work every day and keep racking the motorway miles up. Note: All photos are of my car, not taken from a website (I do a bit of photography).
  10. Is there an option of a desk calendar? I don't have anywhere to put a normal A3/A4 type (well, somewhere it'll get seen that is!)...
  11. It depends on what you're looking for as there are courses tailored to different needs. I practised limit handling with Don Palmer at Millbrook Proving Ground and advanced road driving with Hugh Noblett. The time with Don was spent doing things like practising lines, smoothness (car balance), vision, threshold braking, steering, etc all whilst going fairly rapidly (for me at least - when he got behind the wheel I was gobsmacked by how fast he could go in total confidence). The road driving stuff with Hugh was spent practising the sort of stuff you'll find in the Roadcraft Police driver book. It helps you to keep a sensible pace up whilst increasing the safety of you and the others around you. Hazard perception / anticipation and subsequent altering of your position, speed, gear, etc.
  12. I've been out with Don Palmer and Hugh Noblett (Cadence) and found it really useful. Definitely the best value for money 'mod' imo.
  13. Not that is really matters, but if your lad was anything like I was when I was a kid, the story about the CD is probably a handy excuse! I used to go and jump into my brothers Scooby whilst everyone was away out. I'd start it, then rev it a bit and then get scared that someone heard me and quickly turn it off and run back into the house.
