  1. i have the F500bt which i will be fitting into my cubby in the next couple of weeks, at the moment keeping the bose, but it should give me satnav as well as ipod connection. just waiting on a new dash cubby so i can fit it with the retractable lid. will eventually swap out the bose for the 3100dvd from pioneer, but its all cash dependent.
  2. if you want to be sure, spend the best £15 ever and get an HPI check done, it will instantly show any milage descrepency, if its been written off, if it has any outstanding finance, or if anything else major has happened to it. thats if its a UK car. if its an import the info will generally only go back as far as when it entered the country.
  3. from the vin it looks to be a kuro black pre facelift, possible jap import? not sure i recognise the vin, which makes me think its an import.
  4. i don't understand why people have used the anti foulers first, in the MR2 Roadster club, anyone who played around with the cats or fitted turbo setups would regularly get CEL's because of the increased gas flow, and the easy fix was to lift the sensor out of the flow slightly with an anti fouler. i used to buy them in from the states and sell them on, used to get them for about £5 a set.

    MOT

make sure thet don't put it on the rolling break test machiner its mucho bado for the LSD
  6. i stood there and whatched them do it, never seen it before so was even asking them about it.
  7. that was my first ever MOT, and thats the one and only time i'll let it happen. i think it s a case of whats done is done, and suprising how many garages don't know that as well. don't forget most MOT test centres are used to dealing with your average mondeo and vectra and that cars awith LSD are alot rarer and they probably wouldn't know the car to diagnose that it had an LSD. i know of several dealerships that use independent MOT centres and don't do it themselves.
  8. my mot tester did the same, only found out after that you shouldn't put a car with LSD on those brake roller testers. apparently it puts force back into the gearing which its not designed to take. i.e instead of the engine spinning the gears and then the wheels, the rollers end up spinnning the gearing in the LSD. if i'd have realised i would have told them not to do that.
  9. i never used to be that bothered by the whole budget thing, but these days i am starting to dread it.
  10. hi flow cats should not affect your mot, thats why people use them as an alternative to de-cat pipes.
  11. i'm a teacher and no its not, its where all the lazy pain in the arse kids want to sit, but i make them come to the front. cos i'm mean
  12. useless might be more appropriate
  13. Im pretty sure there is adapters that allow installation into the cubby, but im sure someone will be along to confirm/deny this. R don't worry i gave in in the end and ordered the retractable cubby from JDM, just trying to work out if i should fork out for a new headunit to give the 2 screen look. have my eye on the pioneer 3100dvd at £350 looks good especially as i already have the Pioneer Avic F500bt for satnav.
  14. this is the one i got http://www.jdmperformance.co.uk/item_de ... odID=57881
  15. have just gone and bought the retractable cubby from JDM performance, so will be fitting the F500bt into this. I noticed on the website it seems to have a cable out of it and refers to a motorized mechanism, does this mean it could be set up to open when the car is turned on, if so, does anyone know how to do this?
  16. am thinking of doing something similar, have the f500 for my cubby, but am thiniking of putting the pioneer 3100dvd in replace of the bose headunit. this has been an extremly useful post. just need to source something to hold the f500 in place where the cubby was. do you think that a double din facia would fit in the place where the cubby was?
  17. if you have the kit waiting to fit, does it by any chance have any extra fittings with it, as when i was helping Ekona the only things we found with it were 2 washers for spacing one of the braces.
  18. To save on postage and time, I could offer myself as a courier. I could take the nuts off the Chilli's at Bluewater and then pop them round yours on Monday evening on my way back from work after my dayshift (about 7pm-ish) Unless of course you want me to pop round on the Sunday night, but your neighbours might not be so grateful (K1 bungs out and all that jazz) if you could act as courier that would be grand, not sure what time i'll be back tomorrow night, but monday would be great. i'll have to sort out payment over the phone with the chillis, or arrange paypal, cheque or something with them
