  1. This article on the the TTIP deal is very interesting reading http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/ttip-leaks-shocking-what-are-they-eu-us-deal-a7010121.html is this the kind of Europe we want to join?
  2. Interested to why you think this mate. Out of all the cars ive mentioned the Scirocco would probably have the highest spec for my budget, I could afford the GT but not the R. My wife had a golf, initially I mocked her for buying a soulless car, but after driving it on odd occasions I found it quiet enjoyable. the standard golf interior was ported straight into the sirocco, and actually it was a nice place to be, felt solid, everything worked and never had an issue. I now have the Touareg; ok its not a golf but I have come to find the german manufacturer has got it right a lot of the time. I also prefer the shape of the rocco over the standard golf. I am tempted in the future if I down size to get a hot hatch and the golf R is top of my list. Great stuff, does sound like a good car to drive. A friend of ours has a TDI golf and loves it, the rocco GT is just about in budget but F is to expensive really. The scirocco is possibly the cheapest out of all the choices. I have the Touareg for family reasons, its never going to set the world on fire, but I have been pleasantly surprised with how much I like it and driving it. its a nice cabin to be in, pulls like you want it to does what it needs to. My wifes golf was the same, she had the golf match. Looked standard, but actually after spending some time with it they really grow on you, its not as in your face as other cars, not as fast as other things, but as a daily driver it was a nice place to be fun to drive, good gear change and the fuel usage was pretty respectable. The rocco is a nice looking car, and if you can get more kit on it for the same price it would be silly not to. at the end of the day its the work car; anything that makes the drive more comfortable/pleasurable can't be a bad thing.

  4. seen one last week, I'm not sure I like the styling
  5. alright ignore my contribution lol i'm way off
  6. my money will be Russian jets testing the perimeter off the north sea they'll have scrambled the typhoons to escort them back out to sea.
  7. I don't have the best DAB Ariel (windscreen mounted) and reception in my area is ok but not brilliant. DAB interference may rule the Blackvue out. and possibly the road hawk
  8. you could continue to push the boundaries of required info, What metal have they used, what was the quality and % mixes of the alloys, who supplied the material etc etc. I've seen volks buckle on kerbs and rotas crack on impacts. if the current suppliers as mention ed above weren't up to spec, they wouldn't be selling in the numbers they do.
  9. The Mi Witness is the only one that states its DAB and GPS safe and as I run both in the car that's important, can't find if the other 2 are as well
  10. At that price your looking at rota wheels, possible varstoen, in which case tarmac is your man. Enkei are off the cards. other unkown brands might be possible. buddyclub did some interesting wheels at a sensible price. with regards to production methods I think you are over thinking it a little, its nice too know its been made well or to a certain standard, but at the end of the day none would secure BS kite marks or the TUF equivelant if they weren't suitable. any wheel will break if you hit it hard enough with regards to powder coating the temp range is fairly wide to still be within safe tolerances and any good wheel powder coater will know this. mostly they should be baked around oven temp, anything higher and yes you'll change the crystalline property of the metal. but the other big factor is the design of the wheel, if its a solid 5 spoke (chunky) it will take the process fine. if it has skinny parts to the wheel then they are the likely weak spot for heat fatigue. like the gt4 wheels which slim down towards the central hub, its where the spokes kink that they tend to break, and that's if they have been over fired.
  11. Cheapest wheels I've owned were oz racing super leggera's the most expensive BBS 2 piece split rims loved both sets but the difference between them was noticeable you spends ya money ya makes ya choices With a lot of things I tend to have the philosopher of buy cheap; buy twice. but it isn't always the case. Rota and others make great wheels but you pay for it in other areas like weight and manufacturing techniques. what is your budget?
  12. powder coating is fine as long as they are done at the right temp. I've had my Touareg wheels done recently in black chrome was £60 a wheel but they were delivered with no tyres. expect to pay more if they have to remove the tyres first. if I had gone standard colour it would have been about £40 a wheel I Used Aerocoat near great Yarmouth, just the other side of beccles in Suffolk. top service and great finish
  13. Tarmac sportz has a good selection and know the cars well, they may be able to advise
  14. Any suggestion for a good concave? Im a big sucker for concave rims lol 我從使用 Tapatalk çš„ Nexus 6 ç™¼é€ not anything on a budget that doesn't way a ton if you want concave and light then forged really is your only option
  15. Enkei RPF01's nice light wheel and not going to break the bank.
  16. I'm a sucker for good noise, so have used and probably will use induction kits. Bit I also like a good panel filter. My 2 favourites depending on the car are BMC and apexi.
  17. not what i'm looking for dash cam wise, but will keep it in mind for something else, always liked the go pro but ruled it out for other jobs as too expensive, but that's a sensible alternative
  18. I've started reading up on these this week. Looking for mid range - if you find anything interesting please share have just started a thread
  19. Have been contemplating a Dash camera after a recent accident that left me going from not at fault to 50/50 claim because it came down to my word against the lorry driving, goat molesting, tiny tackled, proctalgia of a fuktard! ignoring the debate of who can and can't use the footage and that it could be used against as well as for me. so my criteria was low profile so that it can be left in place without being obvious (behind the rear mirror) no screen (don't want the distraction) reliability and video quality. GPS tracking and user friendly software after lots of reading and research I have it down to 3 possible cameras and was interested to see what others think there are pro's and cons on all, was interested to see what peoples opinions were. 1. RoadHawk HD2 (front only) £250 (super HD) http://domestic.road...2-dash-cam.html 2. Mi Witness HD V2 (Front only £250) (Front and rear £300) (720p) http://mi-witness.co...product-details 3. BLackvue DR650GW (Front only £195) (Front & Rear £279) (1080p) http://www.blackvue....-channel-detail I've deliaberatly gone for bigger names and avoided Chinese camera kits and ebay specials and don't want anything that looks like a satnav. needs to be fit and forget. At first glance you would think the Blackvue has it won in all areas; front and back cameras with 1080p up front, but whats put me off a little is the reviews, reliability especially on the rear cam isn't perfect. also you have to decide when you buy if you only want front or front and rear. if you buy the single channel model and then later change your mind you can't just add a camera. which brings into play the mi witness hd v2 this comes with a 3 year warranty which the others don't and is often referred to as a blackvue but shrunk down and all the negatives removed. the only down side is that it only records in 720p. but you can add a camera for the rear at a later date. and it comes with a CPL filter The other contender is the roadhawk hd2, its the only camera of this style that records in superHD either 60fps at 1080p or 2304x1296p at 30fps but its front only unless you want to spend £300 odd on their multicamera black box. My dilemmas are: Does frame rate top everything I.e. should the SuperHD out rank all as the quality is so good you'll be able to read and see all? or Does Reliability sit higher even at the sacrifice of video quality, as long as the turn of events is recorded even if occasionally you might not be able to make out the od number plate. Finally is front all you need or is having rear going to make a big difference to evidencing. I have watched a lot of the youtube videos but the biggest issue is they don't give you the true quality because of youtubes mosaic screen makeup add slight pixilation.
  20. get a good quality panel filter if power is your thing, + a velocity stack kit BMC, Apexi, K&N etc most other kits suffer heatsoak and just give more noise. but for many noise = butt dyno increase but difference between stock, aftermarket panel or induction kit is the best part of bog all so my honest adice is go with what you like the look of/sound of unless you are chasing dyno numbers for pub bragging rights; then go panel filter
  21. TV is crap tonight, so have been researching Dash cams, then marking GCSE coursework.
  22. I had the same issue so I got some clear rubber trim and popped that on the metal edges. problem fixed. I think I might have also put a piece of foam on the bonnet where the carbon lid rubbed and that held it in place. definitely no rattles then
  23. it will be the Geometry, if you dismantle the suspension and change the springs you need to have the geo checked to make sure you didn't knock something out when it was apart. most places will check for free. or go for a proper 4 wheel laser alignment £70 - £100 depending on who and where does it. but the difference can be huge. as long as tyres match across the axle they don't have to match front and back, but running the same tyre and tread depth can improve handling it won't be the route cause unless your fronts are a set of nankangs. also new tyres take 300 -500 miles to lose the release agent from the tyre moulds. some tyres are worse than others for it and it can make it feel very skittish until the tyres bed in.
