  1. most likely, not, i doubt i'll touch a road for the majority of that, i'll see a bit of it when i'm the check point charlie driving between points, but when i'm walking it will be all paths and tracks and the odd mountain pass. i think we're averaging something like 15 miles a day over 4 days, been awhile since i've done it done the bronzes last year which is 15 miles over 2 days, doing bronze and silver this year, and silver is 30 miles over 3 days gold is something like 50 miles over 4 days. its done more on time spent walking now not so on miles so you can end up doing more.
  2. cheers fiddy, i'll have the iphone, but i got to conserve battery life. but i doubt i'll get much signal, no the area quite well. going from near betsy coed down to bala
  3. sadly i'm driving a minibus up there with all the bags in and i got a person to keep me company, to be honest rather that than the one full of kids,
  4. Thanks sarnie, love you too
  5. Ok guys this has been jumped on me at very short notice, but i've been called in on 18 hours notice to stand in for a colleague for a duke of Edinburgh Gold award practice expedition. They've hurt their back and I'm the only available and qualified person with experience, so I'm booked off for the next few days and I'm off to Snowdonia. think of me while i spend the next 4 nights under canvas up in wales, where apparently the weather is very wet and windy. I'll be a group leader and a check point charlie person, just packed up my kit tonight and my burgeon weighs a ton. enough food, supplies and kit to last 5 days. i'll be back on monday night so you lot better behave. no more dodgy pics please while I'm away, several of my students have been browsing this open forum because they love the car so much and wanted to learn more. so best behavior while uncle Richard is away. I'm leaving Husky in charge of spamming, and Stews in charge of Cleaning up. and if your naughty you'll have to deal with uncle martinmac and aunty Nixy. enjoy yourselves and i'll post up pics once I'm back, got withdrawal symptoms already

    Tyres

You got them on now? Ooh, we need to meet up so I can feel what they're like, might well be replacing the PS2s on mine next time round if they're any good got a meet on the 15th november if you can make it, you can come and take it out for a spin. i'll try and get to you earlier if i can. i love them, great grip car feels very planted, side walls are nice and stiff, feels very strong in the corners. no tire roll like i'v felt on things like the toyos. tail doesn't kick out like it was on the bridgestones, but that could be down to the fact theyt had very little tread on them.

    Tyres

i'd say go for the vredestein ultrac sessantas, i have them too, great tyre, good grip, better than the reo40's
  8. how much is this cable? i have software, just need to get an OBDII cable.

    Tyres

don't mix and match across axles you'll get 2 different grips front and rear, and run the risk of turning your car into a ditch finding missle. also not sure the eagle F1's make the right tyre size for the rear axle. think they do them fro the front sbut not the rears. anubis can run them as he has 19" wheels and they make them in that size.
  10. its a life style choice. not one i'd pick, but their decision none the less. at least they make themselves obvious so that you don't sleep with them by accident i worked at stansted for a while and one of the big security blokes that worked at the scanners one day went home as bob, and came back as barbara he was a big hariy bloke and when he turned up it was just bob ina a dress felt sorry for him as he had to do this for 18 months before they would start any treatment etc.
  11. fugly ducklings, i've always hated vauxhalls excpet the vx220 same as i hate fords except the gt40. styling has just gone down the pan these last few years. Vauxhall had done alright with there latest design corsa VXR and astra VXR, wouldn't have one but they weren't bad. but this is just dull. citreon horrid horrid horrid, cheap crappy crap. pugeot have lost all design style for a long time, they need to get rid of their branded whale nose that they stick on everything. its ruined there soon to be releasec RCZ coupe. they haven't done anything decent since the 205 GTI. i had a 306 GTi6 which was a good car, but still not as good as the 205.
  12. i've never been issued a NIP i got mine straight from the cop. had to produce my documents at the station when i got home within 14 days of the yellow slip. they signed off that i had all the paper work, then it was my job to send the documents off to the DVLA if i remember rightly. must admit my memory is hazey as it was over 5 years ago and my licence is now clean again. takes for ever to get rid of them. should have details of the court issuing, or the place that this was issued from, try ringing them.
  13. pretty good idea for track days, protect your headlight from any debris, and just pop them off to drive home. much better than the 2 stipes of black tape they usually have to put across your lights when your on track.

    Silly one

i would say check the fit, some fit better than others. check out the pic off of the person your buying from. should be fine. if they had them fitted then there shouldn't be an issue.
  15. umm, i'm just not mounting one at all, and leaving the plate in the window
  16. man, amil order pies, my belly is doomed
  17. As I said Mike I know what I'm aiming for ..................- my car is no garage queen and I spend around two or more hours a day driving so don't want to be deafened or have my fillings rattled out - I'm more interested in performance and I don't want to know its even there until I hit 3k rpm if thats your case i'd say go for the invidia, i know you don't want the G200, which i run, but i found the clips on youtube are nothing like what i have, not only that, what you hear at the back isn't always what you hear in the cabin. plus alot of the you tube clips also have de cats fitted (often called test pipes). i find the G200 great i don't hear much under 3k, it sounds almost stock, but over 3k its great, gives me the extra noise i wanted in tunnels, it doesn't drone on long drives and is a great all round exhaust. you also have the advantage that if its not loud enough you could add sports cats, or race manifolds at a later date. i'd say get a drive out in the cars with peopel who have them, but i don't know anyone in the UK with a GT300 or Q300.
  18. i think F1 would be improved if the drivers cars were fitted out with flame throwers and other offensive/defensive weapons.
  19. +1 whats wrong with just playing the game like everyone else, why do people have to go and fiddle
  20. i have a K&N filter, and i also have the recharge kit for it. its a wash and re oil job. i think the JWT is the same. personally i want to swap the oiled filter out for a dry filter like the Apexi, then its just a wash and dry job
  21. Be good to know prices on all these parts
  22. whens it due for spraying, i'm interested to see what this rear diffuser looks like. are you blending it in and painting it blue, or are you making it a feature and doing it another colour like Black?
  23. nope he drove very well, considering the tyres were on their last legs.
  24. bring on the snow
  25. i had the same responce come back in a year if you haven't crashed it even though i've been driving 10 years and previously had rear wheel drive cars. apparently because of the performance difference it didn't count i'll see what they're like in june
