  1. "This measure effectively removes Band A under the graduated VED system (for cars registered on or after 01/03/01 and before 01/04/17 with a CO2 emissions). As the Band A rate is currently £0, these vehicles will be required to move to the first band where a rate becomes payable – in this case Band B." Unless I'm getting confuzzed here (likely), the above suggests that our 2015/2016 C1 and Aygo will become payable.
  2. So our two runabouts, a 2015 C1 and a 2016 Aygo (currently zero VED) will be zero no more?
  3. I've been pointed on the direction of this stuff....
  4. Yes Martin, it's looking a little worn in that area. I had a good tip from someone here the other day who used a leather paint, which was very successful on their seat. I tried the AG balm a few months back with little success, mine may have gone beyond that stage. I wasn't actually sure that it was real leather, but if it is then I'll try the leather paint.
  5. Okay, using a few basic tools, the base of the seat near the backrest is approximately 33cm above road level. This is of course less the compression when you're sat in the car.
  6. Nope, 5'9" tall. At 6'2" it could be a bit tight.
  7. I own a 2017 Nismo V2, a V1 may have a different dimension. It'll be difficult to measure it accurately, but I'll have a go on the weekend. I'm no spring chicken and I don't have any back issues, but I find it more difficult to get out of, than fall into! Actually, difficult is the wrong word - I'd say awkward and needs just a tiny bit of thought! If I've not responded by the end of this weekend, give me a reminder here.
  8. I can't post photos in chat PM. Here's what is possibly the only photo in existence of a meeting of Zeds from the upper deck of a 747!
  9. I never did get to the bottom of the initial problem, but having now got around that by at last connecting audio to the phone, it's now immaterial really. Thanks for you help and suggestions.
  10. Monthly classic and sports meet at the Westerham Brewery in Kent yesterday evening.
  11. That is stunning in more ways than one, but then I do like conventional N car range.
  12. Great result! I could do with some of that on my driver's seat outer bolster in the Z. Was this the stuff you used?
  13. I doubt that Paul - I just need to figure out why all of a sudden I need to have my phone disconnected.
  14. Update: I've had a slight breakthrough with this problem. This afternoon I cleaned up the connecting leads and receptacles, which made no difference. However, what I did notice when the music was doing its cutting out thing, was that my phone suddenly disconnected from the car and after that, the music stopped cutting out. To test in reverse, I reconnected the phone and the cutting out started again. So, for the time being I'm leaving the phone disconnected. This still begs the question, why is this happening? My phone isn't a stranger to the car, so I really can't work out why it's suddenly an issue. I'm going to buy some new leads, but this time with a USB connection to the car - you never know, it might make a difference.
  15. I'm well and truly stumped by a sudden problem when playing music from my phone via the aux input and was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what's happened. I regularly use the set up in the photo to listen to Spotify etc. Red and white jacks into the corresponding ports in the armrest cubby hole and the black 3.5 jack into the phone itself - switch to Aux, happy funky days. Went to do this during the week - usual set up, nothing different to usual, but every 10 seconds or so the music cuts out for five seconds or so, then resumes for 10 seconds, then cuts out again - and it just continues that way. I've done nothing different, checked connections, but nothing seems to stop these interruptions. I have no clue as to what to do next. Any help, suggestions or guidance will be gratefully received! Cheers.
  16. I do like a good autobox, a BMW DSG in particular. Bullet fast gear changes are spectacular. But for something like the Z, definitely the manual box for me.
  17. I agree - spoils the whole look of the front end with the plate where it is - sorry, just my opinion as well. Otherwise, love the whole build.
  18. Amazing, what a great find and backstory of how it all happened. Low mileage as well, does it actually start and run ok? Good luck with it, I'm sure it'll scrub up well!
  19. Yes street legal and was certainly a properly set up track car, with a driver who's done a ton more laps than me. They're ten a penny at Touristfahrten. They're the ones to watch out for.
  20. I couldn't hold off the E30 behind me for long and as soon as I was flung out at the exit of the Karussell he was gone. Mind you, he had a roll cage and was wearing a helmet, so I had no chance! 🤣
  21. Hi Dave, great thread, really interesting. One question, what brand and style name are your wheels? Quite a modern style and see a lot of them about, but they really suit the Z.
