Boxster/Cayman 981s or 987.2 next step, Life after Z
Eddie_r32 replied to GranTurismoEra's topic in Other Cars
Don't, in selling my slk 320 manual today as it's not as engaging as my 370z, slk55 I'd be tempted with as it's just a dinosaur that won't be repeated and kinda cool, the numb handling and suspension and not that great a gearbox can be forgiven because it has a hand built V8 under the bonnet -
Doc a 987 isn't a 986 with a roof, you know this. And Ekona to flat out say a 987 is a better car than a z is idiotic, they are different cars once a mid engined sports car other is a traditional GT car. An s class is a better car than a 987.

What products are you guys using currently?
Eddie_r32 replied to HEADPHONES's topic in Car Detailing
Switched to car chem and their sister company VP for majority of products. Car chem produce products for a large amount of companies so buying from them cuts out middle man, majority of products are fantastic -
I came back to nissan from Porsche (986 s), I didn't enjoy the ownership experience that much, nice to drive but a pig to work on, my local specialist just drop the engine out for most work now, takes them a couple of hours but means you end up doing lots of while you are in there. On 987 Cayman you need to make sure you buy right spec if you want to do any track work, a mate took his to Nur with us a few years back and the traction control cooked all four discs and all pads, was not a cheap fix. I do keep considering a 987 Cayman but think I will miss the simplicity and aggression or the 370z, oh I would miss a dipstick as well!

As someone who has owned both I'd have to disagree with that, for proof I have some footage of me overtaking an 992 GT3...

I nearly went for the contis but they were more expensive than my F1 supersports, not by much a tenner or so, I think yo get foot in door they need to take the hit for a couple of years and drop prices to just below Michelin and Goodyear items try and get some more on the road

Going from a 350z to a 370z - anyone done it?
Eddie_r32 replied to Yorkshire_Zed's topic in 350Z General
370z's are 350z+ basically, most stuff is just a bit better and nissan sorted out lots of issues things like suspension bushes last longer, cam cover gaskets are replaceable just little things like that. Despite being lighter they feel heavier to me, they are a bit more refined. Interior is a much nicer place to be, still has zero space in boot, it has a glovebox but you can only really fit some gloves in. Mods are a bit more expensive as there are less 370's about. I've personally always preferred the looks of the 350, maybe as it was always a dream car, used to sit and stare at them in the nissan garage whilst I waited to collect s13 parts, but the 370 is a menacing thing to look at on the road. The extra width is nice on wide roads but country lanes it's a bit nerv racking. Just make sure if it's around 70-80k it's had clutch and CSC done and it has some decent tyres on as they are not that cheap! -
Speak to previous owner? No one here can tell you why something was done especially without pictures of what has been done.
-
my opinion is its just a modified car, with a cut up interior, without any pics no one can comment on that though

Not surprised I was tempted to buy one of those "just in case"!

Minimal and not noticeable, I get whichever super is convenient and go on my merry way, I have a mate who will only run Esso, makes his life (and ours when convoying) miserable. Even on a trackday I just get whichever super is nearest to the track. I'm pretty sure if you were to ask Jez which fuel to put her his reply is which ever is convenient.

Help I think I have just been scammed by someone on here.

He messaged me saying someone was selling a Nismo back box, seemed a bit strange but this post has confirmed my suspicions -

Where are you? Can you get something to strip wires and some wire? -
Wouldn't think twice, charges are they have less rust as well, will need a jodb reader and that's about it
-
I'd risk a look if it wasn't too far away and had available funds, some people just can't be bothered to sell cars, yes some people are scammers but I'd say the seller in this case knows it's cheap, if it sells it sells if not he will sell it later when it's worth more.

if you are on the fence about buying the headlights just buy them, i drove my 370z at night and i could actually see, these are well worth the money and if i ever built and on 370z these would be first thing i install!

Another for sway bars first if stock shocks are in good condition
