  1. Quite simply, a 9 month waiting list and no chance of a test drive yet. I taught my hubby impatience haha!! It was amazing to look at all over though I know where your coming from. I had a sit in one a few weeks ago but wasn't allowed to drive it The 9 months the salesman was promising could be even longer in reality too I imagine. I was just wondering what other people's opinion of them was, especially from someone who's obviously compared it closely to its rivals. My cousin pre ordered his and should be arriving any day now, so I'm waiting for a go in that first. The one thing I would say for the RS is I can't see it ever depreciating massively.
  2. But without the engine running he should still be able to knock it out of gear whether or not the clutch is up, down or anywhere in between.
  3. Very nice, I've a pal with one of these, they are a fantastic car. Look quite subtle but great performance. I'd be interested to hear why you didn't go for the new focus RS though?
  4. I'm not 100% sure I've understood what you're saying. But if you think there's a problem with the clutch, why not take it out of gear before trying to start it? If it's on a hill and your worried the handbrake won't hold it, just chock something in front of one of the wheels. You should be able to start it in neutral at least without it lurching about.
  5. When I did the exhaust on my 350gt I did exactly that, dropped the Y piece and both cats off all together. Made life a lot easier, the bolts between the two were seized solid.
  6. I had exactly the same problem. My pads were about 50% worn but I took the opertunity to upgrade them to redstuff pads. Gave the calipers a really good clean, new pads fitted all reassembled with plenty of copper grease etc. Not had a moments bother since and was a simple enough diy job.
  7. For me it's not so much about the size more about the style. Some 20's look great on the 370 others look awful and chavvy. But I suppose everyone has different taste in these matters.
  8. Ok so I've started an online petition to get this re-drawn because it didn't go my way haha Well done on raising a fantastic amount for your charity though.
  9. I had 3 of my wheels refurbed due to kerbing at raw wheels in York. They were quite badly kerbed when I bought it but he did a fantastic job and they look as good as new now. The price I thought was decent as well, £110 for all 3.
  10. £1,400.00 for the pair I don't know if that's a good price or not, there's nothing to compare to because they never come up for sale. I would dare say pretty much anyone on here would happily pay that price for a pair of them though. So well done to you on that find. I am really jealous.
  11. Go on then upset us all. How much have you paid for them?
  12. I'd at least expect we'll get sent a slice of cake for our £20
  13. Sounds very familiar to last time I had cat back exhaust fitted by a garage. At first it was 'yes that's an easy job, will only take about 45 mins and will be £30'. They ended up having it for a day and a half, God knows what they were doing to it, but apparently the bolts were rusted and seized. I turned up to collect it fearing the worst, expecting an astronomical bill. We agreed I'd pay £50 instead, so wasn't too put out with that. On another note, I've replaced the full exhaust including de-cats on my 350gt track car on the driveway on small ramps. It was the original 13 year old exhaust so the bolts were seized solid, and steady away with only a basic tool kit did it in about 4 hours.
  14. Paid. Now just keeping my fingers crossed. I'm getting excited already about my remap
  15. The thing is, now you only have about half the chance of winning for the same £20 stake. But with the aim of making as much money for charity go with option 3
  16. I could be missing the point here, but can you not just get somebody to put their foot on the brake whilst you tighten the spacers on?
  17. Good to know. I need to do mine soon, so thanks for sharing that
  18. On another note, whenever I've had wheels powder coated, I've taken them to a company in Bradford. They do them at £1 per inch for wheels for a flat/ plain colour. Ie an 18" wheel costs £18. They do some fancy colours/ finishes at £1.50 an inch. They always do a decent job, and looking at what others have been paying on here it's an absolute bargain.
  19. I can sort of understand what they are saying about not coating the holes too much. I had my wheels powder coated on a Porsche I owned previously. Apparently the powder coat 'beds in'/ squashes/ compresses under the nuts over time after they are newly coated. So even though the wheel nuts are torqued correctly when first fitted after a while the nuts can become loose. I presume the thicker the coat the more it's going to compress? So long story short, I learnt this the hard way about 6 to 8 months after having my fancy new wheels fitted when one came loose going up the A1. Needless to say I've bought myself a torque wrench and check my nuts a bit more often now
  20. 10 points for effort. There's not much left of it.
  21. It's the very rare GT edition Nismo Shame it's had the full halfords treatment.
  22. Yes I'm definitely in, can you please add my name to the list propper. I've got a 370z GT. Thanks.
  23. So would it be possible on the 370z where you can have 5 different switchable maps to have one of them programmed for pops and bangs. Most of the time have a sensible map to save fuel and unnecessary wear on the engine etc, but be able to switch over from time to time for a bit of fun?
