  1. Plenty companies do, I can assure you. In formal, internal complaint mode you are 100% right - they can tell you it is confidential etc etc and you have to like it or lump it. With threat of a video going viral proving they employ staff who discriminate against asians - they will play ball & if they don't, the mirror, sun or whoever will have a field day running it.
  2. Very little winds me up more than racist remarks between people when folk think there's no one listening. Keep your powder dry. Do not publicly release it until you have gotten 100% satisfaction from whichever company you had an agreement with. Upon being given what you ask for, seek for serious disciplinary action for the men who racially abused you. If you achieve neither of the above - pick a tabloid and watch the fireworks.
  3. This post should come with a warning. Thats the most gruesome, graphic collection of photos I've seen on here.
  4. Already a wealth of information in the site using the search function To answer quickly, plenum spacer, performance drop-in air-filter, De-cats & a remap are your only choice for squeezing 300bhp out of the DE, unless your looking for F.I. or a forged rebuild, both costing considerably more time, effort & money.
  5. "Sucks nitro!" http://www.australiastoughestcars.com.au/news/for-sale-mad-max-interceptor-1975-ford-gs-falcon-coupe-v8-90000/ This would be an amazing car to own, piece of cinema history & not costing £250k like some (Tokyo Drift, looking at you.)

    Tyres?

Had both MPSS & Eagle F1 Assy 2's before - both excellent tyres. Inherited Kuhmo Ecstas on my old celica, preferred the F1's.
  7. On the very odd occasion my coilovers need adjusting as they start ticking on roundabouts or knocking on uneven roads, it completely disappears once I've softened / hardened them using the control knobs. Not sure if you're on C/over or not, so only a suggestion.

    Intake r&d

Believe it or not, the air-flow stays virtually the same due to the principle of "conservation of energy" i.e. the flow-rate is conserved while the pressure drops immediately & the fluid velocity increases. In a vacuum system like a NA engine with pressures near atmospheric its a lot trickier to derive any benefit. Probably why there's not been much success with aftermarket air-intakes.That increase in velocity gives that nice "whoosh" people crave at the cost of power. Designing a plenum that could draw in more air via that dp (venturi effect) is a possibility but not easy. They've built mixer-showers for homes using low-pressure hot water (gravity fed) in the same way. Basically, the higher pressure cold water "draws out" the hot water in sufficient quantities (and mixed to correct temperature) to give better performing showers - i.e. not dribblers but not power showers. http://www.shower-guide.com/venturi-showers.htm There's nothing to prevent the same principle being exploited in an intake / plenum. That said, you'd never be able to map it properly on a rolling-road as the car would need to be moving. Anyone got a big fan Jeff can borrow?

It's looking like it going to be an intake box with a single pipe straight to the throttle body. I believe everything is going to be getting coated to keep the cold air actually cold and insulating the maf to prevent false reading. The machinist making the solid parts has be working with how air flows for years and years and is looking at the best ways of forcing the air into the filter and where's it's supposed to be going. Part of my day-job is the application of Bernoulli equations to the physical properties of hydrocarbon gases in order to accurately measure them. I've always pondered whether increasing air-flow velocity by creating a "vena contracta" immediately upstream of the plenum (with an in-line cone or restriction orifice) would result in increased performance. I'm sure he has access to fluid-mechanics calculation software but if not, let me know & I'll see what I can find.
  10. Lulz Someone did that to me earlier in the week - bugg3rs!
  11. I bought my silver (now satin black) Z33 18 months ago and love it to bits, it was imported in 2008 & I've had zero issues with it - I would have no hesitation in importing another Zed, in fact I already have done just this month. JDM Zeds are just as reliable as the UK ones - in terms of desirability, Japan were furnished with every optional extra under the sun, so there's a much greater range of options going through the import route. Yahoo car auctions is as good a place as any to browse what's available. http://auctions.search.yahoo.co.jp/search?p=Z33&aq=-1&oq=&ei=UTF-8&tab_ex=commerce&auccat=26360 Edit: In addition, Import Zeds obviously clock up in km - it is possible work out the genuine mileage for any pre-imported car by looking at its service history \ year of import etc. Happy hunting
  12. The azure blue has argueably the most sought after wheels to nissan drivers (Nismo LMGT4) so the owners got form for spending decent money on his car. Easy £1500 refund on the cost of the car if you're not bothered keeping them.
  13. My first outing with the Zed in the wet was nerve wracking so I'd never ever take it out in snow, frost or ice. Turns out the front and rear wheels were on are about tit & the rubber was absolutely horrendous. MPSS tyres on the new Weds made an amazing difference, no snaking at lights, tail-outs at roundabouts etc. Increased confidence massively. But not enough to drive it in the snow & ice. Ever.

I'm interested in seeing how this pans out & don't think there's any downside to what Jeff has been offered. There's intrinsic value in R&D whether the end result is confirming what you already know through received wisdom or by surprising everyone. I'd rather read\hear about someone trying something new than never hear of it at all.

  16. Genuine crash-damaged Nismo for £15k earlier in the month - it's a nice car, but it's still a bit rich considering. Youngest non-modded examples are around £11k at last check - there's maybe £7k of value in mods. Up to individual taste.
  17. I'd rather get divorced. Fugly cars those 4 seaters. I agree they look a bit 'bubbly' as standard but a bit of work and they can look rather nice in my opinion... Pick up some cracking examples for chump change - Infiniti kept the options rife too. Not a bad choice for a 4 seater imo
  18. There is a solution. Source a Nissan Skyline 350GT for a swap. It's the same engine, body & parts but it has a skyline badge & rear seats. Love affair renewed :-)
  19. Welcome to the forum, Rob. Where abouts are you local to? Got a lot of members spread out across the island :-)
  20. Looks like standard nismo canards to me - painted, mind. They look good on that front bumper but I'm wary about them clashing with the reflectors.
  21. SAT-Navs don't work but can be made to work. Not many fans of the birdview system. Carwings systems on the late models, uselsss in this country although I heard a rumour they have adopted it for the Leaf so who knows if the older ones will work. The UK spec has 10 litres extra capacity, which makes it heavier on a full tank. Imports will have an aftermarket fog light that you'd do well to find before you need it. Just saying. I'm clutching at straws for differences now
  22. I believe you can buy spare fobs off ebay & the like - happy hunting!
