It's possible, the only thing that's making me think it's real is the Nismo engine bay plaque. I've asked my Nismo guru in Japan to cast his beady eye over it. Alternatively I could ask Jurgen at JM about its provenance.

I have pidly little ones in mine, nowhere near that big! Should note that it's an S-Tune car, not a Z-Tune, they made an appearance in Gran Turismo. Bad G!

This is an interesting find. It's a JDM spec Z33 that appears to have been tuned by Nismo. It's not well known, but Nismo did tune individual cars before building them on an industrial scale with the Complete Cars and special editions you're familiar with. This appears as if it might be one of those cars, so not very common at all. Is it worth £10k+ for a DE engined Zed? Some peoples philosophy is that it's a waste to keep a good car in a garage instead of enjoyed on the open road. Same can be said for watches languishing in boxes / drawers.

I do like a nice watch, for £1500 there's plenty of scope for something that will hold its value or even appreciate. The Tag carerra series is a little bit north of your budget and its special editions are in Rolex territory. Last I checked they couldn't source anymore of the Calibre 16 Nismo edition watches so they will obviously be expensive when they do crop up. Rado is very nice, I own a sintra as a dress watch and can't fault it for wow factor, it's definitely not an everyday watch. Prior to buying myself a Rolex for my 30th birthday I used a seiko kinetic auto relay watch, it's a shame I hardly wear it now because I loved that thing. It gets occasional outings if I'm going to be in a dodgy city or country. It was around £350 which is a steal for a watch that's lasted nearly 20 years without a service & still keeps good time. Rolex submariner gets worn all day everyday except when I'm offshore, for obvious reasons. It's a rolls royce compared to the other watches I've owned but unsurprising given the outlay. Watch for offshore is a bright red Casio G shock :-)

+1 for the blackvue blackvue DR750lw-2ch has HD front and rear and all the usual accouterments you'd expect. Some people don't like the full blown display in your face type deal but I can't fault it. Piece of mind it offers easily worth the £300 price tag.

Managed to average 45.8 mpg in the Abarth while driving up the Highlands to visit relatives, plummets back down to mid 30's when back in stop / start Aberdeen. I don't even bother working out the 380's average, I drive it to enjoy it, not to worry about its economy.

Apparently, the organizers have seen fit to flesh out what was previously a simple one day event into a whole of weekend affair, meaning anyone on an indoor stand will have to have their car located on the Friday and won't be able to leave until the Sunday. This change hasn't been universally welcomed in the car circles I'm familiar with because to be honest, there wasn't a hell of a lot to do over one day last year to justify this. With that in mind, I'll probably be looking to attend a few of the England-based shows next year instead. I have no idea what everyone else's opinion on the matter is, but seems a cynical money grab by the organizers.

The fact there is a help for heroes charity is problem enough. The MOD spend billions on the means to kill folk but spend two-fifths of f@ck-all on looking after their own people afterwards. If you made those bastards pay the true cost of war we'd see a damn sight less of it.

That Zed has been on the go a long long time, insofar as I know, it's not a forum member. Not a huge fan of what's been done to it, the front end looks far too busy.

Nismo V3

One of my club-mates has an NA1 '92 NSX and I think it looks the balls. I'm not that big a fan of the new NSX - but that's maybe because I haven't been up close & personal with one yet.

lol - fair point Stu, what I was driving at was that austerity was judged to be in the national interest of "fixing" the cost of government that had become too inflated. Driving down wages, living standards & the welfare payments to societies poorest & most vulnerable might have been the aim all along - some of us with longer memories remember the speech David Cameron wrote for Norman Lamont in which he said recession & unemployment was a price worth paying for low inflation. It's not without irony that the same speech-writer would 20 years later lament the fact that families on the bottom wrung of the economic ladder had become accustomed to not working to support themselves. Its an indictment of modern libertarian politics that neither Labour nor the conservatives saw bankrolling welfare instead of employment as counterproductive & even when the proverbial chickens came home to roost in 2008, we still managed to blame foreigners & by extension the EU for the fact people haven't worked for 20 years. Pathetic.

The established fact is that the Tories want small government, it's their raison d'etre and the perverted reason they have doubled the national debt but lauded that they have "cut the deficit" - but Brexit has completely undermined that position. The govt are now looking at increasing the civil service by about 40,000 heads - that goes further than any Labour government before it in terms of expanding state apparatus. So, doubled the debt and that deficit reduction they were so proud of will be out the window next year. 6 years of austerity - for nothing.

I've taken a look at the car you're talking about and even though the miles are very low, it's not worth £12,000. I'd be tempted to offer him significantly lower than that to eventually wind up south of £10,000. It's a soon-to-be 10 year old car as mentioned before, the 370z is faster, more stylish and arguably a more enjoyable drive with the Rev matching gearbox - and this is from someone who has had 2 350z's! At a shade over 40,000 miles it's much better value than the standard low miler. Don't want to dissuade you from choosing the other car, I'm just not convinced it's what you're after, especially since you say you're after more power and mods, which on a mint, completely standard low-miles 350z would be a bit of a waste.

Ah OK. DE is the single intake engine used in the 2002-2005 350z, Elgrand, 350GT Skyline etc. It makes 276 bhp standard and is Rev limited to 6500 rpm The DE had a modified cousin between 2005 & 2006 called the Revup which produced 296 bhp with Rev limit of 7200rpm Finally, between 2007 & 2009 the VQ35HR replaced the DE engine altogether. The design is different, twin throttles feed an improved plenum design and the engine produces 313PS with a red line of 7600rpm DE engines have had the most attention from tuners and enthusiasts. Supercharger setups from Stillen are comparatively rarer to see than those by vortech. Gains vary but the best I've seen/heard from a Vortech was 457bhp which isn't to be sniffed at.

You can pick up a very well proportioned 350z for a lot less than £12500. If £12,500 was your budget you could buy a lowish mile DE minter for about £6000 and install a raft of tasteful goodies to make it past 350PS. You can't really get past 300bhp with the simple plenum spacer, decats and remap, for the kind of power you're after it's Forced Induction I'm afraid. The reason I say DE is because with the single intake, there are a few more options for power increase with bolt-ons, less so with the twin throttle HR. It's not impossible, just not very cost effective compared to the DE.

£12,500 for an 07 350Z is too much in my opinion, regardless of how much mileage is on them. You could easily net yourself a newer and faster 370z for not much more than that. In fact a member here recently had their 370z up for sale for around that money. Hard to justify spending over £10k on any 350z unless it was something special, like a GT4 with very low miles or a Genuine Nismo Z33 import. A few members have had Focus STs and RS, they will be along to give their opinions soon I'm sure :-) Welcome to the Forum BTW 😊

The Abarth is quite a nippy fwd car - handles like a go-kart and is prone to a bit of torque-steer when you're giving it the beans - that's about the only point your heart-rate will get elevated. Otherwise its as boring as any other car where you can't kick the arse out.
