You sexist barstard. Men have feelings too
-
I would agree with this. If you're not happy with yourself and your life, having a happy relationship will be very difficult IMHO. No harm in having a chat with the missus though. Maybe at least discussing your plans with her will help move things in the right direction
-
See my second post... I moved them in by around an inch. Didn't really notice any difference and wouldn't say I ever had what you described, but then it maybe depends on driving style and also matter of opinion.
-
Oh meant to add, I actually moved my tips further under the bumper because I preferred the look Didn't notice any increase in drone.
-
Depends what you mean by drone perhaps. With mine I can certainly hear it under any kind of load, particularly at low revs, but cruising at 3000rpm or so on a flat road it seems about the same as stock.

Are you two serious? Better brakes, better tyres or more horsepower will all make your car faster - essential for when you need to get home from Tesco before your fish fingers defrost

Collected my first Z yesterday!

Congrats on a SWEET motor -
Good work! Even if it doesn't lead to a lucrative career, you'll still have fun

Interesting. Two knowledgeable zedders (Alex and Mark), two completely different opinions...

It's true though. Also I don't think it's sexist at all, it's just a personal insult which either makes you despise the man for poor taste or love him for speaking his mind. We've all said things about other people we don't like that may well be in poor taste, but because we keep it between our friends then it's deemed okay. Because he says it out loud, suddenly it's incredibly offensive? Are we as two-faced as we deem him to be? I don't know. I know I'm coming over as a Trump-apologiser, and I really don't mean to be as I think he'd be an utterly dreadful world leader. I just find the situation fascinating. He's just an excellent public speaker who knows exactly who he's aiming at, and how to get results. That's pretty much it. Some of what he says is a joke that people take out of context ("It's freezing and snowing in New York - we need global warming!"), some of it is just being (maybe a bit too) frank and honest in public, and then some of it is, yes, controversial at best. As an aside, and as this thread has obviously gone off topic already, the term sexism gets grossly misused these days, thanks largely I believe to a misguided social media-based 'feminism' campaign. Insulting a woman isn't sexist in itself.

Or has the pound weakened that much? Obama wanted power over money, hence he went into politics. He does seem a pretty genuine guy though, and I'd happily go for a beer with him, but at the same time I think he's just as shrewd as anyone. I'm not saying that Trump will make everything right, what I'm saying is that he won't stand for playing games and will simply shift people on if they don't agree with him. He's already shown that he's not afraid to say exactly what he thinks, even if that may cost him votes and popularity: Make no mistake, the banning Muslims and the Mexican wall thing were huge gambles for him, especially when it's so politically sensitive to suggest either. I'd argue the US is as divided as ever under Obama, especially when it comes to race. I admire Trump's honesty. I'm not saying I agree with everything he says, but it makes a refreshing change from the standard spin-heavy approach to politics. I'm pretty sure that there are plenty of people who agree with the more controversial stuff but would never admit to it (or don't realise it) anyway.

Ultimately though, this type of thing is useless - particularly the $20 per day bit. Is that adjusted for Purchasing Power Parity? $20 in India is very different to $20 in the UK
-
Well Astons are old man cars really, so that doesn't count
-
I don't personally tend to back down from a bit of traffic light Grand Prix, unless it's one of those dodgy junctions which narrows to one lane really quickly and I can tell the other driver will do anything to win. All good clean fun IMO. I think you lot need to start representing TBH, or we're going to get a reputation as a bunch of wusses

Drive a boring looking car, or get over it
-
Oh and with regards to the GT2, it's worth remembering the price of those things so you would expect a higher level of chassis development, but my points re weight distribution still stand.
-
loool, the back end and keeping it on the road. He compared to a GT2 Porsche which he reckoned handled better despite the heavy rear end. The Porsche will be better under power because the weight of the engine over the rear wheels gives you more traction. On the flipside, during hard cornering the 'pendulum effect' of the engine at the back can make things tricky, although from what I've read Porsche have largely engineered that out of the 911 these days.
-
Oh and just to add, if the criticism is that it slides at the back when you give it some as you mentioned, then the correct response is 'learn to drive'
-
I like the handling on my zed. It depends what you want I guess - it's never going to handle like an Ariel Atom, but then that's not the idea. What specific handling traits were being criticised?
-
To be fair, the purpose of the anchor is to be entertaining and engaging, rather than conveying specialist knowledge (which is the pundits' job). The same could be said of Murray Walker for that matter

It seems odd that the Police Drivers' Handbook would use the term 'numpty' Anyway, I'll happily haul ass in the 'slow' lane if it's free. Was on the M25 around midday on Saturday, and quite a few times it was the emptiest lane, the other two being taken up by people driving at about 60mph.

That's seriously cool. You should definitely try designing a lairy bodykit and putting it on

Hello! Did I accidentally buy quite a rare Zed?

I find that approach of no test drive before you have bought it to be mental if you have someone who is clearly a serious potential customer. I mean who in their right mind would buy a car without having driven it? Which Caterham have you got? I always think that they would be an awesome weekend toy. Had a go in a 2.0l westfield 7 clone at some point and that was very grin inducing. Since I can't convince the missus we need more than one car at the moment something like this would be out of the question for me but always love seeing them out and about. I had the same thing at another dealership down in Bournemouth as well. Thankfully that time my mum lent me her GT86, which is somewhat more suitable for motorway miles I had a Roadsport 125 in race spec, as I did the Academy season. They are great fun of course, but just too compromised except as a 'very occasional use' toy even for hardcore drivers (the lack of a locking boot was the thing that finally did for me). Caterham's are overpriced for what they are without a doubt as well. Is that the k series engine or the ford lump? Even if they are over priced and a bit hardcore would love to have something similar at some point. Ford engine these days
