  1. Doubt that's done your diff much good
  2. Took me about ten minutes to change them... No undertray admittedly, but still.
  3. No need to wait, should only take 10 mins!
  4. Why not chuck a budget £30 one on and take it very easy for 2 days or so until you can get the MPSS sorted?
  5. I can see them fine without having to log in.
  6. I've done everything and still doesn't work properly! (new struts, 2p trick, new springs/poppers, adjusting the catch, no weight). Just naff design. Springs need to be right near the catch imo
  7. http://www.amazon.co.uk/LUJII-ELM327-Bluetooth-Scanner-Android-Diagnostic/dp/B00UR5BRZU?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage I have this and works fine on my 2004 DE with Torque on my 2012 Nexus 7.
  8. Had a bit of a strip down in the back today and noticed that both sides of the strut "bar" have rusted and split through the first layer. Is this a common thing? I'm sure a dab of weld will sort it, but seems like an odd place for it to appear
  9. Should be able to get a reasonable Defender for that price
  10. Any chance of using a solar-powered trickle charger then? Would be better than nothing
  11. Leaving it sitting never does a battery any good. I use a CTEK trickle charge on the Land Rover and it starts instantly, when before it used to take 15 seconds of poor turning over before it would start. It also has a reconditioning setting, which may save your battery as it is now. Although if it were me I'd just buy a new one and keep it healthy.
  12. Free to have a go in mine if you're ever in the area Flux. And they are basic, that's part of the appeal. More modern ones do have carpets though, but then you can't hose them out so simply
  13. I'd just get one of the £20 ones from ebay. I did and it's fine.
  14. That's one of the main reasons to get them davey! No flexy to break every 5 minutes
  15. Or tease the brushes out a little more (stretch the springs) I did mine and they've last 18 months so far
  16. My heating works just fine. Years of neglect is the usual problem... I regularly off road - proper stuff too, not just green lane. The majority of it is spent in low 2nd, at tickover/low revs. Only use the clutch when stopping tbh. Mate with an auto is forever mucking about between various gearings off road and it's hopeless imo, although do see their advantages. For the casual and occasional user there's probably not a lot of difference tbh, apart from steep descents - can't get decent engine braking with an auto and you'll sit on the brakes downhill. This, combined with the filth of offroading means your pads won't last long at all.
  17. Christ you don't want an auto for offroading! I don't have a lot of experience with Jap 4x4s off road, but my mate has a Paj auto and the gearbox is horrendous offroad as it doesn't have a proper low range without locking the diff, which is ridiculous. You want a truck you can whack 2nd gear, low range, and just tick it over all day, with the odd knock into diff lock
  18. Defender - proper 4x4 and gives you man points (not that I'm biased). They are an experience to drive and you'll either hate it or love it. But very simple and great fun. If it's too agricultural for you, then I'd look at a Disco 3. Great vehicles and tbh almost as good off road as a Defender
  19. Yes sure. Do you want to arrange it or pay me to book one?
  20. I think we'll only know when the confirmed list is received by Adam. The site does say 18th as final date, but who knows? And the latest entrance is usually fairly early (8.30 or 9 I think) and at Combe you had to arrive much earlier to avoid queing for 1-2 hours anyway
