That looks like the rear is melting.

I actually saw one on the road today a grey one. My local dealer called Friday and I'm having a go next week. Still not keen on the rear styling though. If it's any good I may be tempted next year, as others have said letting the initial rush die down first and it may be some time for used cars to hit the market. Last time round I bagged the demonstrator and saved a packet but all this depends on whether I like the drive.

Check your battery leads are clamped nice and tight.

My train of thought with winter rubber is purely based on the fact I now have a spare set of wheels. I certainly wouldn't bother otherwise that's for sure Plus when I move the car on the new owner will have the incentive of a winter set as part of the sale.

So far I've had Avon ZZ3 and Bridgestone RE050a on the Z. The new wheels came with Goodyear asymmetric 2. The RE050s were ok but very very noisy, The ZZ3S were very good for a budget tyre. I remember back when I ran a CTR on RE040s it would step out if the road was wet, when I put the first gen Michelin Pilots on it the noise and drive was much better and wet grip was awesome. I ran Goodyear asymmetric on my old 330ci and they were great as we're the Conti sports on the M3. The asymmetric 2s thus far are brilliant compared to the bridgestones. Pilot sports are the daddy though and that's what is going on once the goodyears wear out. I'm also looking to get some winter tyres for the old wheels so any recommendations people may have would be welcome thanks.

Looks a nice example. I'm at that time where my son is 18 and my daughter isn't far behind,as you say other things in life take priority but it's not forever and you will indeed return later on in something equally as good. The only reason I picked up a Z was purely down to the fact the mortgage is reasonable now and the need for two practical affordable cars isn't there anymore. I certainly couldn't have bought one new due to similar priorities at the time. Before settling down and starting a family I ran new cars all the time due to having lots of disposable income, now I buy used cars I always wanted years ago thus saving money but still enjoying my hobby as a petrolhead.

This has probably been done to death on here over the years but I finally put some standard 18 Rays on the car. Thanks to a forum member on here for holding them whilst I was holiday. It was always my intention to fit them at some stage as it was the only option my GT was lacking. Also they have come shod with Goodyear asymmetric 2 tyres which are superb tbh. I have now been able to make the comparison directly with the cast wheels and I must say the car feels leagues better on the Rays. I didn't think it would feel much different but I was wrong. Anyone considering swapping over to the Rays it's recommended. I just need to grab some winter tyres for the old wheels but that can wait until I've upgraded the clutch and rear brakes. So thanks again to the forum member who replied to my wanted post, top work mate.

It's all about the badge for some. That little roundel on the front exudes the illusion of quality and reliability, whilst the badge on the back denotes how many times it goes back to the dealer and of course the size of the bill

Side on it looks like my old EP3 CTR

It's no less shocking than the Merc equivalent. But as stated it's a people mover only with less design flair than a Citroën. Function over form and all that jazz.

Christ that's awful, it's almost as bland as every damn Audi on the road.

So all is not as it seems here. Reading the official blurb from Honda the weight of the roll cage was offset by the removal of the drivers seat, door speakers etc. So basically it was an exact copy of the production car engine wise etc but items were removed to counteract the addition of the roll cage. Also judging by the various road tests I've seen it sounds plausible this car weight wise and power wise wasn't fettled as much as the doubters seem to think myself included.

As you surmise a marine engine as it's on the shore and also the only other application I can can think of is rail locomotives lol.

Some constructive and we'll deserved criticism so far plus some positive views. The car is without doubt a marmite item, I'm not overly keen on some of the styling aspects but as I've said until I have a test drive sorted judgement is reserved. At the end of the day it's a front drive hatch and judging by the motoring press reaction a very good one. I've never been one consumed by image or followed the crowd, I've never fallen for silly banter and unlike most I've disliked VAG products after the demise of the Mk2 Golf and everything since has felt anodyne in comparison. Honda made a big deal out of saying the Ring car was standard but I expect it had a cage or similar and like every other manufacturer that tests there a few tweaks to enhance things. Strangely my comparison isn't going to be based on a rear drive sports car but another hatch that I drove last year that was so impressive I nearly bought one, as strange as this concept may be to some of you my fave hot hatch at the moment is the cheap and underpowered Fiesta ST. It's a belter of a car, beautifully balanced and smile inducing

I've already done the reset I just wanted to make sure my new 2 mm drop won't bugger anything up

I've just returned from Barcelona and the car had been sat for a week in the garage. It started fine and I went for a quick blast to boost up the battery. I stopped in a garage to fuel up and returned to the car to find no power at all on turning the key. On checking the battery terminals the positive lead had popped off, with this being the cause I popped it back on and tightened accordingly. The reason it had come loose was down to the previous owner changing the battery and not clamping the battery down properly thus the battery was shifting about. All was good except for the drivers window that then refused to drop when opening the door. I've since performed a reset but now the window only drops 2 mm instead of the usual 5 mm. So this has resulted in a better seal when the door is closed and I'm wondering whether the passenger side may benefit from the same procedure? I'm assuming the passenger window that drops 5 mm is correct and my drivers side that drops 2 mm but seals better is wrong.

I bought some non slip matting from the pound shop but ideally I'm going to get the thicker mat and velcro tab it.

FRP is a good shout.

Love the front aspect hate the rear. Until I drive one I'm reserving judgement.

Blimey we didn't have any computers at school except a couple of BBC (red F keys)and there was no such thing as networking. I did get a ZX spectrum then a Commodore 64 later on Some great pictures in this thread, thanks for sharing. -
Love the comment on adding bits of plastic everywhere. Just like the bumper lips and various other body kitted cars like the .....oh I don't know, the Z maybe I'm not a fan of the rear overhang and agree the concept rear end looked better. The comment on the black car is valid as the added bits are technically body coloured so blend in better overall. My old EP3 looked like a van to be fair but I loved it all the same. The thing that sways me here is as follows: 1, It will be reliable 2, It will satiate my desire for a bit of power 3, The interior is a nice place to be 4, My children won't keep moaning we always have to go out in mummy's car 5, I'm going through a mid life crisis 6, The other half will be fooled into thinking I've become all practical again and I might score enough brownie points overall to get some long overdue leg over

Some pretty solid verbal pre nups there, good lad

GM your right it looks like the decent looking rear end was concept only.Japan gets the same car as us.
