    ive found going from 1st to neutral and then to 2nd when cold is fine. once the gearbox oil is warm, shifting directly is fine. my last car * fwd had a B&M quick shifter, so this is what im use to.

    also check to make sure the oil pressure gauge reads between minimum and max on the display, with circa 30psi difference between warm idle and 6th cruising speed so ie 15psi and 30psi in 6th. tyre and brake wear, bitting point of the clutch. check each gear goes in smooth while engine off and not using the clutch. david

    Quick spin last night to show the car to my brother, not much traffic about and mpg from the display a least didn't seem too awful.
