  1. Sorry to read about the girlfriend ~ hope it's nothing serious and she's ok. Best wishes for her mate. Regarding the belt ~ can only find that part number in US sites from a quick search. Found this info below from this site; http://www.autoparts...GATK060790.html But 79 inches converts to 2006.6 millimetres. Do you think this belt would do it?; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310826609954?var=610227490429&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 It's 2005mm which converts to 78.94 iches odd. Tbh not sure whether to measure effective length or outside circumference. Failing that ~ where did you buy it from? if it was in the UK do you have a link for their site just so I can get it from there.
  2. If you do a google search you may be able to find his old posts/threads and find out a little more about your Zed. Also regarding posting pictures ~ if your still struggling I'd highly recommend you get yourself a Photobucket account. Free to join and very easy to use and post up pictures. 3. Another plus one for the doctors here. Helped me through something difficult in the past ~ was given a very low dosage of some tablets and have to say they did the trick in pulling me through along with the support from family/friends and the doctor. Hope you start feeling yourself again soon.
  4. I bl**dy wish I had done that. When it was running well it was great though. Pity that was probably only around 4 months over two years.
  5. It was a "my96" ~ a 1996 which is a classic shape and it was JDM yo!!. Tbh I know this is not how most Subaru ownership goes and that they are reliable especially when left alone & just well maintained. Part of my problem also was the engine builder that I had chosen as he obviously wasn't a good engine builder as I later discovered but by then it was too late. This is what happened; Engine went in my first month of ownership due to the big end failing after oil starvation caused by the oil pump failing. So had the engine rebuilt with uprated pistons (stronger, lighter & more durable), better conrods, uprated oil pump, reconditioned turbo and some other minor bits (exhaust/Sports CAT/Walbro fuel pump etc). £5K rebuild. Followed all the instructions on how to run it in safely & correctly ~ oil changes @1500 miles then every 3500 miles with Mobil 1 Motorsport oil. All seemed good so started going for even more power. Then various sensors went, the MAF went, the gearbox destroyed itself, the rear diff had a paddy and then the front diff decided it wanted to play up as well. Repaired all of the above, digged deep and got rid of the MAF using a Simtec ECU to run it all with better fuel injectors. Then for a few short months it was fantastic, the car of my dreams but then on a leisurely drive back from dropping my Mrs off at a Hen party whilst cruising at 50mph odd in 5th gear one of the conrods just had enough. Snapped and shot itself through the side of the block. By that point I'd had enough of my Subaru and decided to get rid at a big loss two years after buying it. Bought an 03 Type R then with the money and enjoyed 3 years of truly reliable driving. As I said though I know this is not a typical Subaru owners story but it was mine.
  6. Welcome aboard Malakie. Hopefully you'll find a nice Zed ~ don't forget to check out the Zeds for sale on here as you may find just the one your after.
  7. Used to have a Subaru. Need's a boxer engine imo to be a real Impreza as you can't beat the noise from those engines. Have to be honest though and say I'd never go back. Probably the most unreliable car I have ever owned. It was modified so maybe that didn't help as I know they can be reliable but my96 JDM WRX Impreza was a nightmare for me.
  8. Whoops! At least you've got a nice new card.
  9. Could be a bargain at the right price. I'd budget for changing all fluids though, tyres, battery and the dodgy starter. Needs to be priced appropriately otherwise you will lose out on the service costs of bringing it back up to a good running standard.
  10. Looks fantastic. Would really like to see this car in person one day as I'm sure the pictures don't do it full justice.
  11. Glad they've admitted blame but I feel it's not the end of your troubles until it's all sorted and paid for. Good luck bud.
  12. So sorry to read that Russ. Not driving would be a nightmare. Good luck with your recovery and hope it all turns out good for you in the end.
  13. I've asked chubby so hopefully he'll let us know when he can.
  14. Welcome aboard. Plenty of good Zeds come up for sale on here; http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/51-zeds-for-sale/
  15. Same here especially as so much time & money has already gone into this car. Failing that or if the cost is insane then I would look at some sort of spacers to suit.
  16. Very interesting mouthwash. So 79.5" converts to 2019.3 millimetres. So that would mean a 2020mm belt to possibly be a little too long so next inline on the eBay Gates belt link would be a 2013mm. A difference of 7mm so I would assume there is enough adjustment for this.
