  1. A mate in work actually mentioned this today. He reckoned it was something to do with magnets. Having seen the video I'm not so sure as how would it work going across the water like that, ...flip knows, could still be something to do with magnets and my bet would be that smoke was definitely just for effect.
  2. Great idea for a TV series!. "Arm wrestling with Chaz & Dave"
  3. Don't forget to check on here occasionally just in case a 370Z pops up for sale in the "zeds for sale" section. Link: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/51-zeds-for-sale/
  4. I think it's definitely growing on me the more I see them. Might try to have a look at one in person this weekend just to see what it looks like in the flesh rather than just in pictures. Fair enough.
  5. Well that's one way to wash it, ...beats using a sponge I guess.
  6. Stay away from anything fake gold Dicky, ...it will turn your skin green overtime. You're on holiday and people always spend money on cr*p whilst on holiday so just buy what makes you happy.
  7. Firstly some real funny stuff in this thread, ....secondly I think I really need to see one of these in the flesh as it seems to be one of those "marmite" cars. Did it at least sound good when it went passed you Dave? I've heard some talk on CTRO already that people are disappointed with the way it sounds you see so just wondered what your take was.
  8. I'm guessing Dugg was born in the 90's so he probably grew up with a mobile phone from birth as they do nowadays, ...bless em' I'm surprised they can even string a sentence together with out emoticons.
  9. I'll translate for you. "One should dress up old boy as the lovable rogue "the Stig", then post haste arrive at the Honda Dealership dressed as that fellow to establish what the sales gentleman would do. *chuckles tumultuously* I'd wager if that fellow did not speak then the sales gentleman would muse that it was being videographed for Top Gear and allow one to do what takes their fancy. *chuckles tumultuously*" OR "Someone should turn up looking like the Stig just to see what they would do. *laugh out loud* I bet if you didn't speak they would think it was for Top Gear and let you do what you want. *laugh out loud*"
  10. Good to see you're still around even though you've gone over to the dark side (FWD) Yep I've been back on CTRO (Civic Type R Owners forum) again but honestly it pales in comparison to this place for the most part. Seems like nobody welcomes the newbies on there and it's not as active or with as interesting threads to read so still on here mainly. It does have a few good threads that are still going strong on there like "the smutfest" and the many EP3 build threads. Caught up with a few people on there who were on it back when I first joined in 2010 so they do have the regulars like on here which is nice.
  11. It is very interesting I think looking back on that period in time. I'm particularly interested in WW1 as my great grandfather fought in that war and WW2 as my grandfather (my Dads father) fought in that war. You have probably heard this before but Hitler was an infantry man in World War 1 (circled below) and was wounded in battle (history could have been so different if only he'd been killed). Also Hitler used to have a handle bar style mustache (as can be seen in the picture above) but changed it to the now infamous toothbrush style mustache as the bigger handle bar style stopped him from being able to fit his gas mask correctly.
  12. Before the age of digital photos I'm afraid so had to scan that in ... engine was 5.0 litre V8 Nice mate. Bet that sounded great. Know what you mean about the pictures though, ....all my old car pics pre around 2005 were taken with a good ol' 35mm camera.
  13. ^^ Probably more subtle if you don't turn up dressed as the Stig aye.
  14. ^^ Love it, ...any more pics? What engine was in it?
  15. Please take the "Type R" badge off it, ...you're fooling no one. Seriously though Hondas are great cars and good luck with your search for a Zed.
  16. If you do go for a test drive and can take a GoPro or similar with you that would be cool. Be good to get an unbiased persons view on it and not to mention that you are used to powerful cars so you're unlikely to over exaggerate performance. Yes I'll try Although they wouldn't let my brokers press the r button so I'd imagine if they get wiff of a go pro kittens will be had Well I wasn't suggesting you go there with the GoPro strapped to a race helmet or anything, ...thinking more along the lines of keep it hidden and then once you're alone with the Type R grab a little video of it. That's presuming they'll let you out in it alone without a salesman though.
  17. I had a really good experience the other weekend with ATS Euromaster on Hadfield Road, Cardiff. They do wheel alignment and loads of other things like servicing, tyres etc. Link: http://www.atseuromaster.co.uk/centres/cardiff-hadfield-road http://www.atseuromaster.co.uk/wheel-alignment The reason I say I had a good experience with them is as they fitted some new tyres on my Civic. The job was done fairly swiftly considering there were only two guys working that day & both were multitasking. The guy working on my car used a torque wrench on the alloys to do them up to the correct torque settings and he also inflated the tyres to the correct manufactures specs. This may sound insignificant but the amount of places I've been to over the years who fit tyres & don't even do that one simple task correctly is beyond me. Can't hurt to give them a try.
  18. Oh dear, never nice hearing this type of thing especially when the car looks fantastic otherwise. If the big ends gone though & you can stomach the costs it could be a good time for some forged pistons etc or maybe even a Brian Crower stroker kit. Good luck with it & hope it's not too bad.
  19. Yeah the white one written off was done by some Honda salesman apparently who got a bit too enthusiastic at a circuit somewhere. Presumably showing off what the car could handle & that he couldn't handle it.
