  1. Were you building a place to live yourself then over 8 years? That's one heck of a long build isn't it. Yes Gareth, its a long story....the gist of it is, I bought a 10 acre plot with planning permission, only to discover when I applied for temporary siting of caravans that the pp didnt exist. It took me 5 years, thousands of pounds fighting the council to let me build. They refused permission to live in the caravans so we always lived under the threat of being evicted. I couldn't afford to rent anywhere, as I was paying a mortgage on the plot. They were done for mal-administration by the ombudsman and it took 3 yrs to do the build. It was a living nightmare, one winter, temps dropped down to -20'C
  2. Before I built my house, I purchased 3 static caravans and moved them onto the site. The main one we lived in, was plumbed in copper and had obviously not been drained down over the winter. I soon discovered that EVERY FECKIN PIPE UNDERNEATH HAD SPLIT!!! The other 2 fared better over the 8 winters we were forced to live in them, as they were plumbed in plastic.
  3. I would just enjoy the run out and admire the Skye scenery. That's what I do, don't find it a problem! My nearest garage which happens to be Shell, is 20 minutes away here in west wales. Different story though if its a built up area
  4. I had to use Google translate I suspect Steve did as well I'll have you know, I can speak it fluently . . . . . . . . . . . . english that is Google translate?.....never heard of it!
  5. Get yourself along to Dee Sports in Chester for a couple of wetsuits before it happens again! After the last incident, I'd be investing in a box of spare push-fit fittings and plastic pipe in case you need to tackle a quick repair in the future.
  6. ....but.... the...the....ark exhaust!!
  7. Hi Jeff..sending best wishes for a smooth conversion, will be watching with interest
  8. Well I ordered the lens last night after a couple of beers, should arrive tomorrow and hopefully get out this weekend with it. I hope that you will enjoy using it as much as I did, it was my favourite lens as I mentioned. Look forward to seeing some shots up here when you get chance. Happy wideangle-ing!
  9. Good on yer Spoons, a very comprehensive write up and photo description of how to cure this problem. As regards Kama Sutra positions, I think I'll give that one a miss as my back wouldnt take it. I can just about get in and out of the zed!! Hmm..... always wondered why you had a huge grin on yer face?
  10. Good on yer for posting this up, at the risk of being ripped to shreds. We're only human, and make mistakes from time to time. The good thing is, no one was hurt in the process!
  11. Looks like the guy was pi**ed when he put the stickers on!
  12. Remember, it is not just so you can see but decent fog lights can help you being seen by others including pedestrians, as your second post corrects. I recall having a pair of Cibies on one of the Scoobies and they were really helpful in dense fog if angled down on the road surface edges and rather like how Rally drivers would have those lights adjusted in fog conditions. Absolutely worse than useless though if adjusted as full beams in fog with the glare simply bouncing back. Your mention of Cibies reminds me of my old rally Magnum 2300. Super Oscars on the top and Oscars below gave a great spread of light, although pretty useless in the fog as you said
  13. Whats up? cant you sleep? Did Father Christmas bring a 10-20???
