Just take note of the orientation when you remove the dipstick and put it back in in exactly the same orientation. Cleaning the guide helps to see what your doing as well. Check your oil regularly and it really is easy.

Here you go From 3.5 years ownership experience, I'd definitely wait more than the 10 minutes Nissan suggest. Always check mine first thing in the morning after the oil has had time to completely settle overnight.
