  1. Have you considered how you'll switch it on and off? if you leave it on you might return to find your battery flat
  2. Welcome I may be missing something but you haven't actually stated what the problem is/symptoms are? If you were going to put that in a separate post, start here: http://www.350z-uk.c...350z-technical/ If your searching on the site, don't use the sites inbuilt search engine as its pap. Just use google, i.e. valve seals site:350z-uk.com. https://www.google.c...ite:350z-uk.com
  3. To be honest I was expecting a jibe about me being from Brighton
  4. I was tightening my belts today and the tensioner arm on the a/c idler pulley won't stay in the bracket (the bottom green circle here:) I've re-seated the bolt so it sits in the bracket as above but when i tighten it up it gets to a certain point (which is on the lower side of acceptable belt tension) and the bolt pops out of the bracket. To make that a little clearer based on the image above the right hand end of the bolt move towards the camera. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it. The only thing that has come to mind since I came back in, is that maybe I've loosened off the lock nut on the pulley too much and its allowing too much play in the bolt Any ideas?
  5. I just had a spoiler fitted and the guy who did it said when he removed the OEM lip spoiler there was lots of water under it.
  6. Not sure you can do the headlight via the wheel arch, It might be possible of the cars off the floor.
  7. Yep go in through the arch linner should be a 15 minute job. The main issue I have is generating enough torque in my fingers to turn the lightbulb into the lock position once its in the hole.
  8. The latest Roku box looks pretty good. http://gizmodo.com/roku-premiere-and-ultra-are-better-than-the-competitio-1787662906 I use a freeview + recorder for live TV and kodi + sickbeard for films/TV that aren't shown on freeview Sickbeard lets you enter a TV programe and then it looks up the episodes an air dates from the TV database and looks for downloads once the show has aired. You need to have some knowledge of either torrents or usenet for it to work though. for live football i just use reddit (r/soccersteams) and aceplayer
  9. I think the black vue power magic only has 2 minimum voltage settings. Fairly sure mine was set to the highest, but I'll have a check. I'll also have a look through the settings and see if I can reduce some of the battery pull. Already turned the wifi off. Its a bit of a catch 22 situation as if i up the voltage cut off point then it will stop recording sooner. At the moment it only seems to last ~2 days so there are a number of days when it doesn't record. I had 2 acts of vandalism and 3 people drive into me whilst parked in 2/3 months over the winter. Only have to catch one person and it should pay for itself and a new battery. As for the black vue battery $160from the US or £170 from the UK what kind of exchange rate is that! In terms of charge time if it struggles to start in the morning and I drive the 3 miles to work, it doesn't struggle to start on the way home.
  10. Battery is 1-2 years. My normal driving range is usually around 15 minutes (30 minutes round trip) but only once or twice per week.In the grand scheme of Zed ownership a new battery every few years is nothing. So as for my first question how long would it take to fully charge a battery by driving?
  11. You absolutely can get to the adjusters from above, you just need skinny arms and a bit of patience. I've not replaced my belts completely but have tightened them after a garage had installed them. Its a 5 minute job to tighten them can't be much more to fully replace them this way. If you have skinny enough arms, study the photo in the guides to figure out where the adjuster are. Another top tip is to tie a long piece of string around your wrench and drape it over the front of the car. You're bound to drop to the wrench at some point and it will slide away from sight on the under tray, the string will make fishing it back out again a doddle. Guide here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/15848-how-to-change-the-aux-drive-belts/ This is the photo you need to show where the adjuster are (highlighted in green). I've got a feeling that one of the threads is an opposite thread, can't remember which though!
  12. The squealing won't be coming from the battery it will be coming from the alternator pulley/belt. Changing the battery will mean the alternator doesn't have to work as hard so its less prone to squeaking. Changing the battery may alleviate the problem but it won't actually be fixing the cause of the squeaking.
  13. If its not the belyt it might be the actual pulley wheel. Theres not much you can do about except buy a new one.
  14. You can also click on drop down menu next to your username in the top left, and then select 'my content'. This only shows threads you've posted in, ones that have been updated since you last viewed are in bold.
  15. My work (EDF) normally sponsor it, not sure if they are doing it this year but they are covering the joining fee for any staff who want to join. I was tempted but didn't want to do it with a bunch or randoms. I've done similar in the past, the hardest part is hitting the road day after day, but I've got a longer recovery period than most. If you're a regular cyclist it shouldn't be too hard (esp. judging by the people I know who've done it). There's plenty of support so it's fairly easy going in terms of carrying kit and water. On a similar note my bike frame cracked yesterday its a Specialized and I've put over 10k miles on it in 6 years. Took it to the shop today and found out specialized give a lifetime warranty on frames and due to me having an old wheel size (26") its unlikely they'll be able to find a replacement frame to fit my wheels. If that's the case I'll get a whole knew bike, sometimes warranties are amazing! And my local bike shop said they'd thought me out a replacement bike whilst I wait for it to be sorted.
  16. WAYNE & SHARON98 It'll help you remember which fuel to use
  17. Hi, Another local, I would say I'd meet you at a meet, but I've never made one! A couple of forum tips - don't upload photos to the forum, you only get space for 5 or so! Set up a Photobucket account and host your photos there. Consider blurring out your number plate in photos.
  18. As above but you may find a piece of rubber towards the back of the skirts that stops the side step fitting flush. Its not important so just cut the rubber out if its in your way.
  19. Problem for this kind of thing is technological obsolescence. I've got 3 generations of Philips hue lights each generation requires a different control method. How long does a fridge/cooker usually last v's how long is a communication technology supported for these days. You'll be looking at needing to replace all your household goods every 5 years or so to keep everything talking to each other. Look what happened to all the Nest customers in America, they brought into the smart home dream and automated their homes only for google to buy Nest and shut down the service with zero notice. All customers got was a single email.
  20. It's just a Lenovo tablet running a visualiser app isn't it? You could do with posting some photos of the finished effect, Its hard to see in the video
  21. Colour names mean nothing on their own especially if your buying from ebay. If you want a colour match you'd need to paint them. It should be simple enough to DIY though
  22. Have a search on here for posts that mention Jack at royalsteeringwheels.com. He's not a trader on here but plenty of us have used him and there are a few threads showing his work. The wheel in my build thread (link in my signature) is basically what you're thinking about. He's based in Aylesbury, so not that far from you.
  23. chrome silver (US) and blade silver (EU) are the same colour You can get your own particular colour code by entering the VIN number in here: http://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/Nissan CS2000 pulled this together, its possible you could be universal silver or liquid aluminium
