  1. I've actually just gone down this route for holding an iphone inside the cubby . I took the back off an old window phone mount and screwed it in to a piece of backing board I had lying around. Still a WIP, need to add a felt cover to the backboard (and take a better picture!) Still having trouble trying source some rubber bands big enough to go round the cubby and wide enough to offer support. . There are plenty of options from america but with P&P most options are coming out to >£20. Seems a bit much for a rubber band, especially as I'm not sure it will work.
  2. HI, going to try this soon. Would a 3.5m to 3.5m wire be fine to use, everyone seem to be suggesting starting with a 3.5m to phono lead? Presumably 3.5 to 3.5 still has the 2 audio wires and the grounding wire? Slightly off topic but I've got one of those tapes with a 3.5m lead coming off it but when I put it in the BOSE tape player sounds like its constantly fast forwarding, is this normal?
  3. Hi, I've got a nexus 7 and was planning on using it as a Sat Nav on long journeys. using my iphone for every day trips. My Plan is a s follows: Mount my iphone in the cubby using a foam cut out (think camera lens case etc.), that allows the cubby to shut. Any one know th inne dimensions of the cubby ( when shut) ? Mount my nexus on the front cover of the cubby, but I'm not sure how to do this. I don't want the mount visible when its not in use so it needs to be easily removable. My ideas for this so far are: 1) some how using one of those circular suction pads. Not sure if they are strong enough or if there are issues gripping the cubby as the front isn't smooth, I also don't know how to attach them to my tablet. 2) Some sort of rubber band contraption that loops around the cubby and the tablet. Anyone else got any ideas/thoughts? The main idea is to have my iphone inside the cubby playing music and the nexus outside the cubby doing the Sat Nav/Internet etc. Many thanks #EDIT I think option 2 is going to be the easiest, i already have a case with a front cover if a flip the cover over to the back I could then stick it behinds some rubber bands wrapped around the cubby. My case is a couple of mm wider than the cubby so the bands won't really be visible. Only question would be the stress the bands place on the cubby release catch. I think the tablet might be heavy enough to hold the cubby down and release some pressure. I'm have no luck sourcing the bands though. Think I need 6-8" length, 0.5" width preferably in black made with rubber or silicone.
  4. What does this even mean??? Probably want a brushed aluminium one maybe even a carbon fibre wrap?
  5. Just missed out on the reflectors... my timings all off... Luckily the timings on my car are spot on! Does any one do any after market interior lights fittings? I don't like the frosted plastic ones in the 350z. Not sure how I'd improve them though.
  6. I'm interested to. Where about in the Midlands are you if I bugger it up! Live in Sussex but go back to Solihull every month.
  7. I'm in as well. Presume the fitting of these will be child's play??? Will I have to remove any panels/bumpers etc. hopefully just the light fittings?
  8. Can I just, say if you do these again I'm first in line, PM me if you do! Only got my 350 the other day, just missed out!
  9. They are just a push fit Randy. No tools or brackets needed like the OEM versions. Let me know if I can help any further I'm in PM me the details.
  10. Hi, I've got the stock BOSE stereo and an empty cubby hole (no Sat Nav). The basic thing I want is: Some way to connect my iphone (that isn't one of those tapes with a headphone lead) Some form of reversing sensor - a camera would be nice but not all that necessary. I have the tomtom app on my phone so I'm not desperately in need of a Sat Nav but a large screen would be of use. So can you get double din HU's with a decent SatNav already built in? or would I be better to go for a separate satnav? I'd love to be able do the work myself, but I've no garage and can't even park outside my house for long so it would be a P.I.T.A. I'm guessing most of this should be run of the mill for someone with a bit of expertise, any recommendations for places in the South East? I'm based in Brighton.
  11. I was just reading something about this on an american forum. How easy are they to get off, bearing in mind I don't have a garage and can't park outside my house! any recommendations for the paint?
  12. How easy are these to pop in and out? like the look of them but can see me needing to take it out to fit things in the boot every now and again, not a lot of space in there!
  13. Hi, Most of the cars I've been looking at are a bit rough on the inside. Most of the dings seem to be on the inner door handles where the window controls are and the silver strut. How much are these to replace and is it easy?
  14. Hi, any idea how much this damage would cost to repair
  15. Hi, Looking to try out a few 350Zs next week. I live in Brighton but will be travelling by train through Marylebone to B'ham later next week and I'm planning to stop off any try a few cars on the way. So any dealers along the way want to put their hat in the ring? Or any recommendations for dealers local to Brighton or South Birmingham (<60 miles)? Ideally what I'm after is Silver or Black with Alezan Tan trim and black alloys, coupe only. thanks
  16. No the valuation was based on make model etc. Edit*** Blimey how many 350z's... The search could do with a few filters though, mainly to remove the ones that are sold!
  17. Hi, Wasn't sure where to post this, but I'm about to go test a 350 z GT and I've a couple of general questions. First of all does this seem a bit cheap: Dec 2003 - 3.5 350 z V6 GT black with tan seats. 66k miles last service at 62k £6,750 - Via a dealership I put the details through the auto trader valuation and it came to £8.6k - 9.5k, don't know how accurate it is but there is quite a discrepancy. I tried to run the plates on Auto Trader, but they are private and come back with a different vehicle, should I be worried about this? its saying the plates were registered to the new vehicle on 10/08/2013. Anything I should look out for when buying a second hand 350z?
