  1. Black nail varnish? I like The Cure but...
  2. So this is the final look, I mounted my tablet with elastic and tucked the front cover behind the elastic. the elastic pulls off easily enough when not in use. The cubby size is perfect for 7" tablets.
  3. Got some black rims but touch a curb when parking, damage is minimal but silver is showing through. What's the best way to touch it up? It's a tiny area so I was thinking some sort of Pen would do?
  4. Didn't get that car in the end but thanks for the tips
  5. You should probably look at my handy work before saying its easy... http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/76772-mounting-a-tablet/#entry1140772
  6. Hi rickdon, Would you offer the carbon wrapping service, just thinking you could buy the wrap in bulk. I'd defo be up for one. I'm also pretty rubbish at things like this....
  7. I got in today turned the ignition on and it was already saying side 1. I've tested the line in and it works fine. However the radio doesn't work. If I click eject the radio comes on but only to static and I can't tune it. I then have to perform the tape reset to get the line in working. At least I can use the line in though! No radio is a bummer but it's a start.
  8. I didn't cut the tracks,so that's not an issue. Thought I might as well hear how it sounds first. Could you run me through the reset? What does the stereo show before you do a reset, I'm not seeing any warning/error? So do I need to do a reset? Do you turn the ignition all the way off and when you turn it back on do you go one click, 2 click or turn the engine on (3 clicks)? Do you wait for the ignition to be off before holding down the eject button or hold it down before switching the ignition off or try to press the button and turn the ignition off at the same time? When you hold it down do you try and turn on the ignition as soon as it stops or just after? Do you keep your finger on eject as you turn the ignition, when do you let go? Thanks for any help.

  11. I seem to be having a similar issue to Champy When I connected the wires at the back of the stereo the tape player started cycling. When I turned on the ignition for the first time the tape player said 'side 1'. I then went through the reset procedure and it's now stuck on fm 87.5. None of the buttons work except, power, volume and load cd. Any ideas???? The Head unit hasn't given me any error messages ?? I did manage to pull the ground wire contact of the PCB, so just scratched down to copper further in the line and soldered on to there. as shown below. Would this create an issue?
  12. I've decide a big loop of elastic is probably the simplest way to attach my Tablet to the cubby. I've got some 3inch wide stuff and I'm currently trying to figure out the best way to turn it into a loop without resorting to getting out the sewing kit! I've tried wonder web but the bond isn't strong enough and I melted the elastic using the iron .... Anyway I've covered the iphone mount, got a bit of glue on the front but you can't really see it in the cubby so may leave it. I rounded of the edges and cut off one of the corners to allow for cabling. Coved the front in a layer of white backing felt then wrapped some black felt round the front and super glued it down. Yes, I ended super glued some of the felt to my fingers so now have what look like hairy finger tips... I mounted my holder slightly off centre so the volume buttons on my iphone were still accessible.
  13. I've actually just gone down this route for holding an iphone inside the cubby . I took the back off an old window phone mount and screwed it in to a piece of backing board I had lying around. Still a WIP, need to add a felt cover to the backboard (and take a better picture!) Still having trouble trying source some rubber bands big enough to go round the cubby and wide enough to offer support. . There are plenty of options from america but with P&P most options are coming out to >£20. Seems a bit much for a rubber band, especially as I'm not sure it will work.
  14. HI, going to try this soon. Would a 3.5m to 3.5m wire be fine to use, everyone seem to be suggesting starting with a 3.5m to phono lead? Presumably 3.5 to 3.5 still has the 2 audio wires and the grounding wire? Slightly off topic but I've got one of those tapes with a 3.5m lead coming off it but when I put it in the BOSE tape player sounds like its constantly fast forwarding, is this normal?
  15. Hi, I've got a nexus 7 and was planning on using it as a Sat Nav on long journeys. using my iphone for every day trips. My Plan is a s follows: Mount my iphone in the cubby using a foam cut out (think camera lens case etc.), that allows the cubby to shut. Any one know th inne dimensions of the cubby ( when shut) ? Mount my nexus on the front cover of the cubby, but I'm not sure how to do this. I don't want the mount visible when its not in use so it needs to be easily removable. My ideas for this so far are: 1) some how using one of those circular suction pads. Not sure if they are strong enough or if there are issues gripping the cubby as the front isn't smooth, I also don't know how to attach them to my tablet. 2) Some sort of rubber band contraption that loops around the cubby and the tablet. Anyone else got any ideas/thoughts? The main idea is to have my iphone inside the cubby playing music and the nexus outside the cubby doing the Sat Nav/Internet etc. Many thanks #EDIT I think option 2 is going to be the easiest, i already have a case with a front cover if a flip the cover over to the back I could then stick it behinds some rubber bands wrapped around the cubby. My case is a couple of mm wider than the cubby so the bands won't really be visible. Only question would be the stress the bands place on the cubby release catch. I think the tablet might be heavy enough to hold the cubby down and release some pressure. I'm have no luck sourcing the bands though. Think I need 6-8" length, 0.5" width preferably in black made with rubber or silicone.
  16. What does this even mean??? Probably want a brushed aluminium one maybe even a carbon fibre wrap?
  17. Just missed out on the reflectors... my timings all off... Luckily the timings on my car are spot on! Does any one do any after market interior lights fittings? I don't like the frosted plastic ones in the 350z. Not sure how I'd improve them though.
