  1. Good guide on this forum as well. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/45398-bose-phono-ipod-hack-guide/ The two hardest parts I found were unclipping the lead that connects to the 3 gauges at the top and then when everything was undone getting the metal cage that holds the stereo over the white plastic box at the bottom that I think holds the air con circuitry. I got round this by undoing one side of the metal stereo cage from the plastic dash.
  2. tempted by Filter, as its on my list of cheap improvements, but can get it new @ £35 delivered so
  3. Its Bluetooth aux connector, someone was mentioning these a few pages back, but they were Blackberry branded. Uses Bluetooth to connect audio to a device that has a 3.5mm out socket. I brought a Blackberry one off ebay and the sound quality was terrible, sounded like a phone call absolutely no bass and the the other frequency's were all distorting as if the levels were up 250%. Completely unlistenable. Might have just had a bad one but didn't like the way it needed an external power source anyway, just another wire to hide.
  4. Good work sir! I just typed his ebay user name into google.
  5. Well here is his photobucket account. Astra Coupe seems bang on the money. http://smg.photobuck...w=recent&page=1
  6. I'd already spotted the ones at tarmac! Where did you get the mirror covers. Can only find them in stock at Flea bay, but there is rumours of poor fitting!
  7. HI Buster, This has been a good read! What side steps have you got, the thread mentioned a mysterious ebay try out? Did you paint or wrap the handles and side mirrors?
  8. Hi any one have any geniune 350z car mats they don't need anymore? Not sure I can justify the £65 they cost on Amazon!
  9. Added more pictures. It sounds normal up to 3k revs then gets loud.
  10. I'll go take better pictures tomorrow! The inside of the tips are perforated (if that helps)
  11. Simple question! Car parked right on my bumper so couldn't get a good shot but still.... ***** More Pics Added*****
  12. Hi, Got too many scratch marks on the plastic interior. Just wondering what are the best types of paint to use to prime/repaint/seal. SuperStu used Plasti Dip but even after sealing said it scratched to easily. I've seen results using this http://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-248922-Automotive-11-Ounce-Fabric/dp/B003CT4AT8 in combo with http://www.duplicolor.com/products/adhesionPromoter/ from :http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/120-audio-electronics/69876-painted-dash-new-radio-many-pics.html Seemed to get good results but the colour match was off. Please no one sugest a CF wrap (i'm not a fan)! Any other suggestions???
  13. It might sound like sacrilege on this forum but I'm not a fan of CF interiors... Might be something I have to see close up. I was after tan leather until I saw it up close then went for black. I'm going to git similar side steps and might get them CF wrapped though with a small front lip. I'm also temped by a black vinyl roof.
  14. Liking the mods, couple of questions though. Liking the speaker grills, have you got a picture of what they look like inside the car with the door shut? What paint did you use for Plastidiping the drivers door switch trim? Its something I want to do but getting the right shade worries me. You need to post some full view pics of the car so we can take it all in!
  15. I'm glad you explained that, I've had you labelled as a madman from your avatar alone!!!
  16. Can't stand It I'm just going to have to try and build some. Every time someone posts in this thread i check back to see if a spare set is going!!! Could you post a link to you build thread for these. I've tried searching but can't find it.
  17. I 'installed' my nexus 7 on my cubby flap with a standard cover and a piece of elastic! http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/76772-mounting-a-tablet/
  18. and I didn't even add that every road within 5 miles of my house has a 20 mph speed limit... Didn't bother me until I brought a car last month!
  19. I live in Brighton, we are all on water meters, its bad enough my car does less than 20 mpg. Surprised the green brigade haven't impounded it
  20. That doesn't sound right at all, if anything is plugged into the headphone socket it should cut out the iphone speakers. I just tested it on my iphone with a 3.5mm jack that hasn't even got any wires attached to it yet and the sound still won't come out of the iPhone. Sounds like your jack isn't in correctly id its coming out the iphone speakers.
  21. I think I could probably get into this detailing malarkey, but I can't really work on a car by my house. Any ideas of the best options? I was thinking maybe using the the pressure washer at the petrol station for general cleaning and then getting the professionals in a couple of times a year?
  22. The issue myself and Champy were both having was a button on the face plate had been pushed in. Don't know which button it was on Champys but mine was the tape button. Champy prised his back out I took out the faceplate and unscrewed the backing PCB to free it. All works fine now, although there is definitely more noticeable background noise on Radio/line in, its even there when the stereo is apparently switched off? It's bearable though and doesn't increase with volume and my after market exhaust means I need my tunes loud! Thanks for the help everyone.
  23. I'll have one, any recommendations for a quality panel filter?
  24. One of my interior bulbs blew today.... It's a sign!
  25. Got it this morning, fits like a dream. They actually tried to deliver yesterday, quick.
