  1. Obviously a lot more money (£85, inc. forum discount), but I keep this portable jumpstarter in my car. Its saved me numerous times last year and its also good for charging up gadgets etc. Plenty of us seem to have one and no ones reported it not working on a zed http://www.350z-uk.c...-that-start-v8/
  2. My cars parked a 5 minute walk away otherwise I'd check, but from memory, 'Phone' is displayed on the radio when: 1) I turn the ignition on, presume this is the bluetooth pairing and its only displayed for a few seconds 2) I receive a call 3) I press the steering wheel controls to instigate a call. I think it comes up as soon as the controls are pressed, so it starts before before dialling has started. This is why I thought one of the buttons may be stuck down.
  3. I only know the one in Portsmouth, thought there was another one, but can't find the address. There's a list of forum approved traders here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/82264-pro-traders-and-their-locations/
  4. You shouldn't be able to power the stereo when the ignition is off, but I don't know how that's controlled. Its a very odd problem that's for sure. Are you based near any of the ZED sheds? Is it an OEM stereo and have you or the previous owner ever had the stereo out? My only guesses would be something in the wiring loom or the fuses. I'd take the stereo out and check all the wiring looms are connected properly and nothing looks odd. There's a guide here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/45398-how-to-bose-phono-ipod-hack-guide/
  5. Just reading that again, are you saying the radio unit still has power after you remove the keys from the ignition?
  6. Are any of the steering wheel Bluetooth controls stuck down? If you disconnect the Bluetooth module completely does it still come on?
  7. Sounds to me like the belts need tightening. New belts stretch so need to be re-tightened, its likely to be the aux belt as it has to work harder in the winter. If you can fit your arms down the back of the radiator its a 5 minute job, if not you need to get underneath the car and do it so it'll probably take 30 minutes.
  8. Belts or Pulleys? Have you changed the belts recently?
  9. Yes, if its ~£180 they come with motors, its should just be plug and play. Pull out the old shroud and put in the new one. However there seems to be some confusion over whether they are actually plug and play or need a bit of rewiring. If you search this site on google you should find a thread on it, it was only from a few months ago. Be warned they are noticeably louder than OEM.
  10. Royal steering wheels recommend 4mm foam to me.
  11. And as always we're as equally wanting pics of the new garage as much as the car
  12. The fans are notorious for breaking. Yes check the coolant when cold, but my bet would be the fans. The commutator gets dirty so when they fail it can be intermittent. You can in order of cost 1) take them out and refurbish them yourself, you probably just have to clean the commutator. 2) buy a second hand set form someone on here 3) Go after market with a mishimoto shroud - they are loud fans though 4) But a new set of OEM ones. If you want to go for option 2 I have my old set in the loft and I'm only down the road, I went for the mishimoto shroud when mine went.I didn't bother refurbishing them, but it would give you something to work on whilst still having your intermittent set in the car.
  13. no need.... https://www.theguard...recipe-revealed I made the Guardian version and it was bloody delicious!
  14. I thought most people had theirs dipped rather than sprayed?
  15. it'd be a good idea to give your general location. You can add it to your profile, so it show just below your thumbnail on every post.
  16. Theres a few wiring guides out there: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/14773-got-the-headunit-out-but-what-is-this-connection/ Looks a bit complex to me!
  17. I got a Vive in early December and would second the comment above. Its an amazing experience but the resolution lets it down and I'ma little bored of it now. The horror games have really put me off playing resident evil and I'm a massive fan of those games. Horror VR is properly scary, I think 'A Chair in a Room' is the first time I've ever actually properly screamed out loud whilst playing a video game. Brought the Vive on ebay with the intention of selling it on around April/May when everyone's flush with their end of year bonuses ! Just hoping the next gen doesn't get announced before then, but there are no hints of that yet. I might advertise it on here first.
  18. There was guy on here a while ago who ordered a wheel re-trim off ebay. He said he was happy with it, but it was absolute toilet and he was ripped for it. Granted it wasn’t his own work, but if you can find the thread, it would give you an example of what a bad one would like!
  19. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/85093-me-myzed-i/page__st__20#entry1580662 £130 +£15 for fitting (but you can do that yourself)
  20. Your photobucket account is set to private To add images when posting click on the image button and then enter the url in the pop up box. The image button is left of centre on the bottom row of the header. just underneath the smiley face
  21. How about you take those trucks and race them on a ski slope...
