Pure gristle anyway. I've come across bullies of that size and they're all show no go. Why bring up his size and an aggressive "go and talk to him if you have a problem" comment to try and intimidate people is beyond pathetic. I'm being unfair though, he may well be a gentle giant and his friend is making him out to be some sort of beast. Eitherway, if you have a word with him and he does nothing about his driving, the marshal is the next step. If he hits you, it's assault - so it's all win win, apart from a black eye but who hasn't had one?

Oh and what's great about that thread is that his "friend" has responded as well as another track day driver (Driving a honda accord) who basically acknowledges that the guy didn't get any better throughout the day. The Mclaren driver has replied too! So if he "friend" had mentioned it why didn't he change his behaviour? Regardless of him being a 25st lump (mainly gristle) I would have had no problems asking him to get off the track or to stop and think about his driving. I'm no expert, but I am considerate to others on the track because 1) I want to have fun 2)I don't want to damage my car 3) it's more fun taking the right lines without having someone to worry about on your inside.

The biggest issues for me is the overtakes mid corner, and the lack of space he gives other drivers. His bodylanguage and behaviour inside the car is his call, it's just the lack of attention and respect to other drivers that ultimately I find irritating.

Had he been there when we were there, I'm sure you me, Brillo and Ken would have had words!

wouldn't it do the same if it was a bearing ? are you thinking lash or bushes ? Ah perhaps - I know I had a similar issue in the past (not on the Zed) and I used that to pin point it.

Could be the diff? Have you tried cornering at speed and loading up the diff to see if the tone of the noise changes or if it stops altogether?

Fabia VRS is 1200kg so if it was remapped it would have a power to weight ratio not far off the Zed. It's no surprise, it's all about Power to weight ratio in this sort of thing. Round a track or on a twisty road, you'd be able to put the power down more easily on the Zed but I wouldn't dismiss the Fabia with a competent driver.

I think a nicely fettled Zed is a good match for an E46 M3. Certainly on a track there's very little in it from my experience. The E92 M3 though is something I have to say is very very nice! Welcome to the Zed club though, we're far superior!

Voted for the first and last options as I wanted to check out what I was buying into and it helped me make an informed decision, but also enjoy getting to know people. Since joining this forum, I've been to the zed shed, met a dozen or so people, and taken some guys out on a track day in my Zed.

I'm going to be leaving mine until it expires since I only got mine 2 months ago! Might as well keep displaying it!

Silenced decats are the way to go if you're after the most power after a remap and you have a friendly MOTer or you are able to put the cats back on for MOT

Sounds like it's not been fitted well (no offence) did you put new gaskets on? Did you fit them flush or is did you have to "force" it in place? If it's leaking that much I'd stop using the car until you got it sorted really.

None because I don't like apple software. I think the hardware is very pretty but I prefer the functionality of my android devices (Nexus 5) as I'm a bit more of a techy person and don't like the sandboxing apple has and enjoy the more advanced features of android.

We went there for our honeymoon. Most relaxting trip I've ever had, and I've been all round the world several times. It was perfect for a honeymoon or holiday get away where you just want to absorb yourself in being with one another. We went to Veligandu resort, it's a small island (600m long if that), lots of amazing snorkelling, scuba to be done, lots of chilling out on pearly white sandy beaches, amazing food (unlimited food, and drink if you drink alcohol or not), water sports and so on. For only around £5-6k you can go to one of the higher tier resorts for 10 nights or so. I'd avoid the bigger islands if you want a bit of quiet time, and want to keep away from families. It's constantly around 30C and you do get the occasional downpour but they hardly last long. A few pics: AS you can see there aren't many people loitering around, you get a lot of privacy. We did a bit of island hopping to other islands and resorts, see some of the locals, went fishing and on a few boat trips., it was never crowded. If you were to go to a bigger resort I think you'd end up getting a little bit bored of people. The beach here had beds, hammocks, and other chill out areas under palm trees hidden amongst and around the island, so you could disappear and have a private cuddle and chat without lots of people around. There was also a spa there, which whilst not my thing, having a thai woman massage your inner thigh is always pleasurable!

Made a heck of a mess of the car...

This was from The Mirror: The male driver of the Renault Clio David hit appeared in court following the accident. The motorist admitted causing death by careless driving and got a 12 months community sentence in April and an 18 month driving ban. He was also ordered to pay £200 costs with a £60 surcharge and do 130 hours unpaid work. Ch Insp Spinks added: "We know from the footage that David was travelling up to 100mph. Regardless of the speed of the bike, the car manoeuvre should not have been attempted."

My view on this as both a car driver and a motorbike rider... Biker was daft going that quickly especially as if he had done any advanced rider training, or even any decent learning he would have anticipated (and noticed) the junction ahead, and be ready to slow down (and actually slow down) for the junction, not to a crawl, but heck, at the speed limit at least! Though even at 60mph you can't just swerve out of the way as easily as you can with a car. One thing you learn on your bike, even with lights on, people don't notice you. It's a researched fact called inattentional blindness (http://www.motolight.com/page/481485610) as well as motion induced blindness (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion-induced_blindness) seems to affect motorbikes as they are just at the right shape/speed to fall between the gaps so to speak. This is not a mitigation, it is something that is still being understood/researched, but something bikers need to be aware of and ride more defensively as a result. Now, the bike had just overtaken a car, which is possibly why he was going too fast, we've all be told to overtake as quickly as possible to minimise TED (Time exposed to danger), but clearly he didn't slow down. However, the "guilty" car driver didn't notice the car that had just been overtaken either. So that is pretty damning evidence, even if he was motion blinded about the bike, he should have noticed a white car! The white car also had its lights on. When you're cutting across a NSL road, the onus is on you to cross when it is safe, not to make others slow down or change their course. The car clearly just performs the manoeuvre without stopping and therefore can be surmised that they didn't look either. They're both to blame. The biker should have been riding more defensively, and slowed down for the junction. The car driver was also driving carelessly. Ultimately though, a young man has lost his life leaving a hole in people's lives, as well as it being on the conscious of the car driver. No one wins, no one is right or wrong - it's a sad event, and finger pointing and apportioning blame adds nothing.

Though remember the mx5 isn't about being a powerhouse, it still only weighs around 1 tonne, and is very easy to drive on the limit or close to the limit without things going south very quickly. It's designed to be a hoot to drive at slower speeds. I do agree the chassis can cope with more power, heck my mx5 had over 230bhp (mk2). Exactly the best thing about an MX-5 is the handling not the speed, but if speed is your thing then s/c it But then who would s/c a lovely n/a engine in a perfectly weighted car Mine was turbo charged - mk2 1.8is. Was rather fun
