Add your details to the link you liked buddy, will be helpful for any future alloy buyers
  4. The remind me of a octopus, lol, in chrome too
  5. Try some paint stripper to get that lacquer off, it may just make your life very easy
  6. Eddie Jordans new Sunseeker just floating off the production line down in my hometown
  7. Personally i would try a little Nitromors paint stripper on the lacquered lip first, being careful of the painted spokes, you might get lucky, sometimes it lifts it off with ease, sometimes it doesnt touch it usually the case if its a clear powdercoat. If that works, it will be a doddle as the polished lips underneath will be pretty good and just need some really fine wet and dry (maybe even just a metal polish), apart from the areas of corrosion. Keep us posted
  8. I have hardly seen such a popular topic pre and during release of the brz and 86, there wasnt an aspect of this car that wasnt thoroughly disected and dicussed or should I say argued, lol. I dont think there is any doubt in a few years it will be the modding car of choice but whilst it sits in its current price bracket there is just too many other cars to compete against that have either, better looks, better trim or better performance. Before I get flamed I know the ethos of this car was lightweight, fine handling that didnt need say 280bhp but apart from the die hard enthusiasts who backed the 86's corner, anyone I have known who has driven one said it was great to drive but 200bhp just wasnt enough in real world driving, not just a and b road blasts.
  9. Without teaching anyone to sucks eggs, you can wax/polsih this style of lip as much as you want and this will not be avoided. The lips are lacquered, not polished aluminium. The water ingresses under the lacquer through stone chips etc which then results in "white worming" and the flaking/blistering you see above. You would be better off with bare polished ally and maintaining that with decent wheel sealers and waxes designed for the purpose, at least if you do get a little corrosion with a bit of elbow grease and autosol metal polish they are back to their best. I looked after my polished rims all spring/summer with no more than a couple of coats of sealer and wax at the start of spring after they were freshly polished with no more than a regular wash with the rest of the car! Let them get bad however and nothing but a professional polish will get them back to their best, but even that only costs £80 - £100. You cant beat a proper polished lip personally

    SSR GT1

Picked up a set of SSR Intergral Gt1's today for track days, 18", very similar weight to Rays but a 9" rear so i can run a 265
  11. Cant really be more specific without giving your address as you were just leaving your house and I was working on the house at end of your drive, I almost walked out in front of you as you left for work
  12. Unfortunately the guy has a lot of history as LMC says, he burst onto the rx7 scene telling everyone how he was going to build a 200mph rx7, told everyone who knew anything about them what they advised him (inc rotary specialists) were wrong and he knew better, then ripped people off, selling stuff he didnt own, stiffing traders for work they had done on his car and then promptly smashed up his rx7 no closer to his 200 mph than when he started. There was also history on other forums with other elaborate build projects with the same outcome. The brief outline of his intentions: He has no idea about aero, it works on one car so will on another is his theory. His calculations are based on the back of fag packets. He cant afford to match time attack cars power (cost) so hopes to win via low weight (ironic with the addition of all his mods) and downforce/aero. He has no racing experience. His first test will be his first race, no track time to see if it all works together. He is commonly referred to as Turbotosser not toaster! There is plenty more i would say but hopefully this will give you a picture of the character and his build
  13. I couldnt agree more, i contacted an Amercian company regarding a similar product, i had a reply with all the info within 4 hours
  14. I am staggered in this day and age at some companies, its no wonder we have so many failed small business in the UK. I wont go into which comapany at present but suffice to say its not a trader from here. 2 emails over a month and a final post on facebook to ask if this company is even trading to get a response and then a requested call back which has not been received in 4 days and i am not talking a couple of quid item. Yes i would have called but they dont list a contact number. Makes me realise how lucky we are to have such awesome traders on here
  15. Awesome cellar! There is a lot of pairs in that mix

  19. As above no mention of offset. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-supra-volks-racing-alloys-wheels-with-tyres-/171252634777?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&hash=item27df73d499
  20. I watched a bit of the Bahrain test last night on sky, more chat than track time obviously, but apart from lap times which have been mentioned previously, they were talking top speeds, Vettel was a full 30 kph slower. This years top speed is quite a bit higher than last years because of the reduced aero.
  21. Woah! That's impressive! Nice to meet you on Sunday WOW, how long did it take to pull that in

Be very handy for anyone handing out advise above (if not already done so) on this and frequent other fitment questions to get your alloy/tyre specifics up on the link below, would be a great point of reference rather than keep answering the same questions time and again. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/79656-all-encompassing-wheel-size-offset-thread/
  23. Repeat post, just seen Kyle's, sorry
  24. As above, no mention of widths http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nismo-LM-GT4-19-Aluminium-Wheels-for-350Z-GTR-Skyline-/251465501967?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&hash=item3a8c830d0f
