  1. Well with the season upcoming i have switched broadband to Bt to get BT sport for free, well £3 a month extra for hd, infinity broadband for £7.50 for 6 months and then £15. Gives you a free app tp watch on line too so not too bad
  2. One thing i have noticed is the demographic of attention. The year before last we went to Combe and i was in my Rx7, my mates in normal ish cars said all the "yoofs" were looking as we drove through varying towns, on a trip last year with the Zed, same friends, they said, all types of people were looking, so its appeal is far broader
  3. After breaking a couple of Rx7's, i would only base your total on large or high value items, engine, gearbox, brakes, seats and aftermarket parts etc I wouldnt concern yourself with value of trim, panels, doors etc etc Just see them as a bonus to top up the funds
  4. Caption competition time..... "I told Darren-B it didn't need a S/C " Sent from the golf club... This was one supercharged
  5. The best thing for me is, its BRITISH
  6. I am guessing you have never owned a white car, lol. White looks great no doubt, but imho they have to be pristinely clean to work and wheels just done stay clean for that long, 1 miles worth probably, lol
  7. I think the white on silver looks awesome, I am afraid there is a but, the moment they start to get dirty they will look, well, dirty and bad, which will be as soon you drive with brake dust etc So unless you want to be wiping them down or cleaning them all the time stay well away
  8. You get what you pay for and for the money you cant fault them, but one of the biggest things for me is you blend into obscurity with all the other 350's wearing Rota Grids, so the extra cash to get something that isnt mainstream is worth every penny and you will most likely sell them for near what you bought them for 2nd anyway as they will always be desirable because of the exclusivity (relatively speaking), so you will loose more money on a set of Rotas. They are actually a copy of the old turbine wheels. They make perfect sense though for all your other reasons, cheap, can buy individually etc etc, i wouldnt say they were light though compared to the wheels they copy, te's for example
  9. I cant quite get my head around how a 1700kg car can be so quick and able on track! A buddy of mine is a uk national tarmac rally champion (read: he can drive, lol), his car has 200bhp and weighs as much as a packet of peanuts and is designed to be fast around a circuit, on a open day at Combe he could not loose a guy in a std gtr on road tyres, lap times around 1.18 or below, seriously quick pace and then he drive home in his heated leather seats with a stereo on!
  10. Rota have become their own little parody haven’t they, they seem to be regarded as a quality wheel nowadays, even though they are just cheaper copies. I personally have no 'real' issue with them, I needed some cheap wheels and tyres for my S2000 once and bought a set of 17 Slipstreams (Spoon copies) with 452's for under 1000, they did me fine on my little amateur trackdays. My only issue is that they're copies and like all copies all we're doing is stopping the original wheel designers making new wheels, as people just wait for the Rota copy to come out and buy that, thus putting some firms out of business. You can fault their business plan, lol and i agree with you, i have some Rotas on my work daily because like you i wanted some cheap rims, but not a chance they would go on my pride and joy
  11. They, are pretty cool by all accounts. They, are pretty cool by all accounts. Nice to see Rota ripping off the euro design scene now too of course , but if the op wants different, i reckon those might just work
  12. A buddy of mine laps the ring quicker in his track prepared e36 than he did in his r35 gtr, of course there is a lot of do i want to stuff my new gtr into a barrier going on, but reality, he has openly admitted he was just too scared of the power of the gtr and found the e36 way more manageable
  13. Good call, but the driving experience or better drive is going to be very specific to each individual and cant see anyone looking for a 350z/m3 for example is going to have a mx5 on their radar as they are worlds apart. If i was to buy a car for best driving experience it would be some form of Caterham (reasonable budget) but i couldnt justify owning one for any other reason, my toy/weekend car needs to do many things so its which boxes need ticking and in which order. I reckon most calls will fall into certain brackets and therefore have a natural group of rivals when your looking to buy
  14. I reckon it would balance out personally, between the old dear who does a few hundred miles at best each year to the rep who does 20-30+k and would be nowhere near 70p. The system is already in place to collect it, no need for fancy new computer systems/software etc plus the added savings from not having tax disc/sorn, people who dont pay etc If they based it on a fair assumption that 10 or 12k miles is average, just work it from that. The biggest problem i see though is how is it bought in as everyones cars are taxed till different times, they would have to set a date, say January 2015 and you could only buy tax up till then, but then what do you do about the cars that are tax exempt?
  15. Ceratinly dont see them around much, couple of sets on jdmdistro but as you say, over the £1500 mark
  16. Its a good forum, but i do find it quite "intense" compared to some of others i have been on, there is a lot of big brother paranoia on here regarding insurance companies/police having access to posts etc, if anyone thinks insurance companies and police have time to trawl through car forums to catch offenders i would say you have watched enemy of the state way too many times. A lot of other forums have a dedicated "kills" section for such very topics and before you make suggestions about such forums or more specifically the integrity of the cars/owners, we are not talking saxos or corsas, but other equal performance cars And before any flammage commences i am not condoning street racing or reckless and dangerous driving at any stretch of the imagination, but i am sure we all have enjoyed a little spirited driving on occasion, which can be completely within any given speed limits time and a place etc
  17. The world is your oyster then How about these, different and black and gold http://www.ebay.co.u...=p2047675.l2557
  18. I dont think they would have to put that much on fuel to make it viable, when considering it you have to take into account the savings made from scraping the whole tax disc in the window nonsense and associated sorn paperwork rubbish, think of the savings in getting rid of a whole dvla department, chasing people for not paying tax, paperwork, postage, no anpr camera vans, the list goes on. Unless you have stolen your fuel, anyone on the road will have paid their duty and its completely fair, the ones who do high miles and have high polluting vehicles pay more. The system for collection is already in place with fuel duty! I think the gov are aware the ved or whatever you want to call it these days is completely archaic and unfair, there have been mutterings of trying to eliminate the tax disc recently! Only problem, it cant go out on fuel, because of those whos cars are tax exempt!
  19. NIce, but £170 for 4 small pieces of carbon kevlar!!!!
  20. How pimp is he on his bmw donkey/mule/ass sporting a Volcom T Shirt & smart phone!
  21. Colour will also make a considerable difference in my opinion Zeds look very different pending on the colour.
  22. Have had a few compliments from women all varying ages, some direct if in a garage for example and some "wows" if you pull up next to them, maybe its me I also returned to a car park with some mates and my black zed was parked next to mates c63amg (black), 911 gts (black) and a lady said "lovely car" to me and she had just walked past all three, quite a compliment given the company
