You need something super light, I don't think you've got much chance of a zoom at that price point, but you can always crop in post production. Check these out: http://dashcamtalk.com I'd wager a möbius or innovv would do the trick for sensible money. I mounted my point and shoot, with terrible shake results, but the tiny light innovv camera, although cheaper and less capable, produced way better results. You can also eliminate some shake in processing after, but it can't perform miracles.

How could costs be £630? I bet two replacement panels, colour coded, for an X5 would be more than that.

Is there an Ubuntu distro for raspberry pi? I've got one running the raspberry flavoured XBMC which is perfect for media playing, but little else. There is a utility for multiple boot options on the pi, which might be useful if you want a media player mostly but a "full" PC at other times.

Mine's the same. Overnight, when I use it daily, no problems (it's an iOBD) but when I was away last year for a week it killed my battery. It's not until recently that I learnt it was on a permanent live Defo worth a test before you start ripping things out

Can't quite remember TBH but logically speaking I'd assume that 1) when you open the door it obviously auto drop a few centimetres 2) when you tweak it's nipples, you've tricked it into thinking the door is closed, so it should auto rise a couple of centimetres 3) when you un tweak it, it should drop down again That would appear to be the sensible behaviour. Sounds suspicious that the it behave differently on each side. Did you have a look at the other reset procedure with the finger on the button on the motor?

Check the door close nipple in the door shut. This was playing up on mine and caused the same issue. Should be easy to inspect and tweek with your finger. I didn't find it until I tried the reset several times and a helpful member on here suggested it. There's also the other reset if that doesn't work. Whilst we're on about flywheels, is the idle chatter on the SMF appreciably louder than the DMF? I know mine is on the way out so I'm curious as to how noticeable it is. A chatter when I'm sat at the lights is the sort of thing that might drive me nuts
