  1. Check out the member builds, there's inspirational stuff in there. Not all of it will dent your plastic (though most of it will )
  2. Adidas store has got 15 % off for first timers too, plus 25% if you buy 4 items.

  4. No worries. I've no doubt there are better units out there (also with 2 channels, 1 for a rear facing cam) but it's good value at the price. Make sure you read up on dashcamtalk about the battery discharge protection, you don't want to drain it.
  5. Great work on the dash, it's better than the one in my Zed Fancy coming round and refurbing mine
  6. Check out this thread I started on the Innovv, I think they have a slighlty newer model now but the one I bought is inexpensive, decent quality and simple to set up and use. It's not hard wired up in my Zed as I intended to use it only for captruing track fun and road trips. It's just been 3000 miles around the southern US with me and never gives me any grief. I am now tempted to get a power magic so it's perma on and I can use the parking mode. The case gets warm, but it's not overheated as yet. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/84566-innovv-c1-dash-cam-review/ I like it because it has the features (1080p, decent low light quality, g-sensor) but it doesn't have GPS so there's less chance of it incriminating you if you happen to be near the speed limit when someone pulls out of that junction... Check out https://dashcamtalk.com for some reviews of loads of cams There's a battery protector here too with good English translation which "prevents terror against your vehicle" http://lukashd.com/eng/product_info/power_lock_4.html
  7. If you want to go full detailing geek, watch some AMMO vids, I think they're perfectly pitched for most people. There's one or two in there about glass care. http://www.ammonyc.com/videos/ The FIRST place to start is here, basic wash. http://www.ammonyc.com/detailing/basic-car-wash/ Then some tips on what not to do http://www.ammonyc.com/detailing/top-10-detailing-mistakes/
  8. Interesting as the idea is, I'd resist the urge to top up your washer fluid with wax. If you want good run off from your glass, there's RainX at the budget end. Some people hate it but I found it did it's job so long as you keep the glass clean and top it up. Make sure the glass is properly clean first (maybe pick up some specific glass cleaner) and you have a number of microfibre towels handy as it can be a pain to buff off and you don't want streaks. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/221300324152?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=t&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108 At the other end of the spectrum there's better, longer term products like g techniq. Which are a different league in quality but take some time and effort to apply correctly - the biggest rule being less is more http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/gtechniq/clearvision-screen-kit.aspx Whilst you're at it. If you want the paint to have nice water run off, with minimal effort, the easiest product I've found for this is EcoTouch Quick Wax. It's cheap and a doddle to use. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eco-Touch-Quick-Wax-500ml/dp/B00705RQRI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1402239175&sr=8-2&keywords=eco+touch+quick+wax With detailing stuff, everyone has their own favourites, people will recommend loads of expensive and inexpensive products. Generally speaking, none of them are "right" or "wrong" just what you prefer. There are some rules that are definitive, two buckets being one of them. Also never put anything on the paint that's touched your wheels (cloths, towels, mitts, etc). Lastley, welcome to the party!
  9. I've got a bit of a boner for sonax products at the mintue, the BSD and wheel cleaner are current favs. Good to see another one of thier products getting a run out. I'll add this to my things to try list, thanks for sharing. Looks well after the rain. Anything that can cope with the sand/dust that gets in the rain round here is a god send.
  10. I know you used this a couple of pages back, Glacier Wax Pure 001 shampoo, and noted the outrageous price. Well today I got round to using my waxybox sample and I REALLY like this shampoo, the persistance of the suds and level of lubrication just pushed this onto my A-Rated list (we'll see how my wallet fells about it long term ) Went to order some and found they're bundling up with a couple of other products at £25 http://www.glacierwax.co.uk/car-care/wash/pure-001-500-ml-car-shampoo-2/
  11. All this moaning about evolution of language, but at the end of the day... ...it gets dark.
  12. I recently bought one of these to replace two cheapo HP (half the price and half as good) printers which died. http://www.printerland.co.uk/Canon-Pixma-MG7150-P132832.aspx Does AirPrint, can plug into Ethernet to network printing, edge to edge printing for photos, quality is good and print speed is too, piano black finish is sexy Negatives, it's a noisey little thing. Takes a while to warm up from cold (best to leave it on if you print a lot). Best domestic printer I've owned, and I've owned over three
  13. Tremendous work on this, kudos for doing all the hard bits yourself. Skillz.
  14. Because it's the land of the rising sun? Can someone please report that joke to the authorities.
  15. I like a Russian handjob as much as the next guy, but not on the paint.
  16. Why is the sun strip at the bottom of the windscreen?
  17. Thanks to some "helpful" comments from fellow members , combined with a weather break, I got round to cleaning up the headlights. Properly this time, remembering to seal them after Used the same menzerna power finish (203S) as last time, but a better Lake Pad and a Flexipad backing plate. Worked much better than the previous combo and soon cut into the lights There's a few persistent marks that I daren't lean any harder on, but I couldn't even photograph them, so they can't be that bad. Well pleased with the refresh
  18. Is there a preferred aspect ratio?
  19. Some fairly lazy stereotypes there and made me chortle as expected
  20. If there's little or no annual fee, I'd keep them. It's handy to have buying power at your fingertips and if you use them and clear them regularly then you've got another A paid account against you
  21. Yes, with tapatalk "technology". It's a poor man's ceefax How is linking all your forums together in a stream ceefax related Fair enough if you don't like it but you can't say it is rubbish because it isn't, it works very well apart from a couple of hiccups when updates were released, but I am a beta tester now so only myself to blame There are other forums?
  22. Never trust an email that doesn't offer to give you extra inches, extra stiffness or a bored housewife 3.8 miles from your location.
  23. Yes, with tapatalk "technology". It's a poor man's ceefax
  24. Tapatalk blows, switch to normal or just hit "clear history and website data" in Safari settings and when you log back in, cancel away the stupid tapatalk pop-up and just use Safari on iPad, it works a treat. It should only ask you once. As for photobucket, the apps suck browser FTW.
